Not all baitcast reels have holes in the spool! And if you spool the whole reel with braid then your wasting alot of braid that you will never get down to. More bang for your buck!

I know Lew's makes GREAT baitcast reels so I would think there spinning reels would be just as good!

That is your problem then. Best knot to tie the two lines is a uni-knot .put enough mono on the spool so you don't come up short with the braid. It all depends what size braid you have on. And try to come close to the mono lb. test and the braid lb. test when tying the two lines together it does not have to be exact but close.

San Diego Jam knot=enough said! The only knot I tie for everything! NEVER any slips or brakes and you can tie it with any line. Google fishing knots.com to see it!

As Jonny had said if no backing on the braid and the braid will slip from the spool. if you put a backing on then just take it back where you bought it from or call Lew's,they back there product up!

I like the Phat Frog from Snag Proof but that is just me..Alot of of good frogs out there.But I am happy with the Phat Frog for me!

I never had a problem with them being weak! I fish the VMC spin shot and in fact I fish two Spin Shots on one line. I can cover more water and depth that way and sometimes get two bass at a time.

Netbait has two new baits out.The Paca Slim and the Contour worm.I love the Paca Slim,great for Jika rig,jig trailer,punching bait,T-rig,swim jig.

I will look at all the baits that you guys talked about.You just made it a bit harder to pick one! THANKS= I was ready to pick up some Rock Crawlers and the new Wart in green/blue craw. Now I have to look at the other before I pick any up.

I am a big Wiggle Wart guy and I was thinking of picking up some Rock Crawlers or the Berkley Pit Bull or the Wild Thang. The Rock crawlers are a bit $$$$ and i don't know much about the two Berkley's baits.So if anyone has any input on these 3 crankbaits that would help alot!

One pincer will catch fish and sometimes better! Smallmouth will at times grab a claw and shake it untill the claw brakes off the body of the crawfish and then they will eat it. I think they do this because it looks too big so they take one off jmo! Many times when I fish a crawfish bait I will feel the hit and lay back into her and feel the weight of the fish but no hook up-that tells me they are grabbing the claw-Ion the next cast I will remove a claw and the hook ups start!

I do think it can make a difference! I was guiding one night and one of the guys had his own rod rigged up as a T-rig and he was not getting bit at all. So i did ask to see his rod that he was fishing,and he did not have a bead.We put one on and he started to catch fish.Does it matter all the time, I am not sure but it did that night! I always fish a bead on a C-rig or a T-rig. It does two things,it give's off a clacking sound that a craw fish may give off anf it protects your knot from the weight!

If you guys think that the hook up on a frog in open water is a concern! Do this = Bend the frog hooks up and out a bit for better hook ups.I do this even if I fish the frog in slop ect. I too am on board with ww2Farmer! I can walk the dog with a spook or a frog!!!!!!!!!!

You can fish a frog in open water!!!!!!!! When I was a guide I took people on deep weed lines to fish frogs. And now that I am on Table Rock Lake I fish them in some deep water around wood! They are not just for slop! Any where you fish a spook,buzzbait,you can fish a frog!

I like the Flick -it jig also to wacky baits like a Fish Doctor, Fin. worms,Robo worms,trick worms ect. Not just senkos's !

The Buckeye Flick-It jigs work GREAT as a Ned rig set up. It is a small football head and it has a weed guard.Great in weeds, rock,wood! Just a heads up!

I will also fish them on a weighted hook and swim them along the bottom.It is a killer from pre-spawn all the way to late summer!!!!

Are you setting the hook with a side hook set? I have fished with many that fish the C-rig and set the hook with a up-ward hook set, they are picking up the weight first and reducing the hook set. Just a thought!

For me all I need in jig colors is-black/blue-greenpumpkin orange-PBJ- Brown/blue!!!!!!!!!!

The 5 in. works better for me.When the bass go into there summer patterns that is when I kick in the bigger baits,.Junebug is a good color,black,black chart. and try a worm rattle in the stickbait near the hook.

Fish the release area! I have more than one tournament doing that! But don't fish it all day and don't give up on spots you think can hold fish!
