I agree with the braid. I have a ton of Pike in my lakes too.Had a 47 in. last year hit a spinnerbait. I don't like them fish with big teeth!!!!

In the summer when the jig bite is at it's best. When you do the jig snap, you HAVE to get good at watching your line.When I take people on guide trips and they want to learn the jig I just tell them to lift the rod up and pick up your line as you let the rod down,this way you always have a tight line and you will feel many more bites. This a good way to teach someone the jig bite,and as they get better at it they can expand the way they fish it!

Wacky that sucker!! I fish a 15 in. Netbait C-Mac worm and i rig it 3 ways,one way is just a 5/0 to 7/0 worm hook on a T rig,number two is weightless and let it flutter down,and the other is Tex-pose,I take and push the worm all the way down the shank and keep going untill the hook is about 1/3 of the way down the worm,so when done the line is in the worm.

I too vote for the original! I have tryed all the sents out there,and Megastrike and JJ's Magic have found a home with me! No more looking for this old boy!

You don't hear too much about reapers anymore! Great bait for flippin & pitch'n.I still have them so now I can get them out of my bait cave. I forgot all about them,I will have to give them a bath.

For me it goes like this= Swim jig skinny water 1/4 oz. water from 5 ft. to 30 ft. 3/8 or 1/2 oz. Fottball= 3/4 to 1 oz. deep water Flip/swim= 3/8 & 1/2 oz. Punching= 1 oz. or 11/2 oz.

I don't need all the colors in the Grsass Pig for swim jigs,but what colors do you guys use on your jigs? I was just thinking of white,watermelon red,watermelon candy.

I will take a look at the Devil spear,I was at Bass Pro and I did see that the Grass Pig comes in 3.5 in. a 4 in. and the 5in..So on a swim jig would I hurt the action going to the 3.5 or the 4in.Grass pig? The 5 in. seems to have a thicker body than the 3.5 and the 4in.I am not sure if the action will change on a swim jig per size of the grass pig?

This will be another great jig to go along with the already great line up of great NorthStar jigs!!!!!

Just take a strike King Fin. worm in pink and fish it on a drop shot wacky or nose hook.I dare you,I double dog dare you! It flat out puts fish in my boat and isn't that what it is all about?

I have fished the Neko rig with Tiny,Baby and the Paca craws,and i have done very well.great when they are on beds!!! Another few baits that I fish on this rid is a fluke,french fry,tubes,beaver baits all work.

I fish all kinds of trailers on a swim jig but never a Grass Pig1 They look just too big. So are you guys cutting the grass pig down or useing the whole grass pig on a swim jig? I fish only the NorthStar swim jig!

I like to use the Megastrike when my bait is going through heavy or just weeds.Megastrike is a cream base so it helps lub the bait and it can slid into the weeds better and I use it for the sent also.The JJ's is a power garlic sent and a good dipping sent/dye to dip my craws,worms,swimbaits to give the end of the bait some color that is different than the color of the bait.On some days it can be the factor of catching or not!

For me it would be them high end crankbaits,too many big fish with big teeth in my lakes!

Now I will make this very easy,= get a tube of Megastrike and some JJ's Magic and that is all you will ever need!!!!!

I fish jigs of that size around docks,pads,weeds that get a bit thick like milfoil.i like to let the jig fall into the top of the weeds and just give it a snap. As for docks I like this the most as the fall rate is slower.As for trailers I like to take a Zoom U-tail and just use the last 3 or 4 in. of the worm,or a drop shot worm.

what I mean by backwards is I start to thread the hook point between the legs and now slid it on the hook up to the jig head. So now the legs should come out of the side of the jig skirt and the head of the Dirt Dawg will be at the back of the hook.I don't know how to post pictures,sorry!

I will be doing a seminar ar Bass Pro in Chicago this Sat. at 3:30 and Sun. March 10 at 12:30. I will be in the BPS store both weekend,most of the day!

In the Spring I fish day lite and after the spawn and when they school up and get in there summer patterns then I fish at night the rest of the summer and early fall. And I could share some spots,not a problem.
