  1. When are you going? I will be there May 18 to the 26.
  2. Yep the wind on the Rock is key to fishing if not overcast! Good job! I will be down on the Rock ( Kimberling City ) two weeks from this Sat.
  3. Raw bacon???? I do have standards !
  4. Fry I see this is your first post=welcome! This is a great site. As for the C-rig baits any plastic will do!
  5. Just take some bacon in a bag and when you get to the lake rub it all over your bait ( jig, plastic ) for a true test!
  6. If you told me that I could fish only one size it would be a 3/0 for me! But like RW said you need more than one size!
  7. Jeb2 hit it on the money. I fish alot of weed lakes up here in WI. and the bullet weight works great in these lakes. We do have lakes that have rock and then I go to a thin long ( like a mojo weight ) weight or like a Lindys walking weight. Or a weight sock.
  8. Northstar would get my vote!
  9. The best is J'J's Magic and my number two would be Megastrike. These are the only two that I use!!!! I Megastrike is a cream base that I use whem pitchin and flippin.
  10. I think Snag Proof came out with that jig but,I could be wrong! I think it would work ok in deep water or around weedlines and with very little cover, but for the thick stuff not so much!
  11. A grub on a C-rig or a Mojo rig. Them SK worms are GREAT on a drop shot!!
  12. Ok, I understand what you are saying! But my answer is fish at night.
  13. I fish deep water, and I do very well. This is my strong point, I have mastered deep water in the summer patterns. And when the water heats up there will aways be bass in shallow water, pads, slop, docks.but for a steady bite I like deep water, weedlines, rock humps, ledge's,bottom changes, ect. Bass can adapt to temp.change real well. In deep water you will have schools of bass that can be nice in size and numbers! And one of the biggest things you do to help yourself is start fishing at night! I guide at night up here in Wi. with some very big bass, and I still fish deep water!
  14. Check out a Bass Pro or a Gander MTN. they sell good maps of lakes in your area.
  15. It could be when you go to pick up the slack line? Drag the c-rig and reel down to pick up your slack line,it you don't you may be missing some bites when moving the rod to pick up the slack line. And I would not hop a c-rid,you want to just drag the c-rig and most bites are going to be lite or like a heavy feeling. If not sure SET THE HOOK!
  16. Power Pro or 832 ! Remember to put backing on the spool.
  17. What where they going for??
  18. Make sure you use a backing on the reel! I like power pro or Sufix 832.
  19. Any input on these reels? I was thinking of buying the Lews speed reel or the tournament one?
  20. The Owner Sled head that Bassin is talking about has the shape of a bullet weight head and has a grove at the end of the head where you can put a skirt,it has a off set hook too.It also has a wire cork screw on the hook shank to hold the bait better.I have fished them many times and they are very cool.I have put skirts on them and you can fish any kind of bait on them. The skirt just gives it a very cool look! Just google Owner Sled Head and you can see them and were they are sold. I think Gander and Bass Pro sell them!
  21. How heavy is your drop shot weight? I have been fishing a 1/4 oz. and I may go to a 3/8 oz for deeper water?
  22. Robo,SK 3 X,Zoom french fry! Purples,black.
  23. Some more I like are the Northstar bull gill, perch!
  24. My colors are= Magic craw, Brown green blue jig,black/blue,Dirty Water. The trailers are Netbait chunks or tiny/baby Paca craws.
  25. Google Pete Wenners fishing guide! He does a nice weekly video on were the bass are biting on the rock and what to use. He does a new video every Thur.! I have fished with Pete many times and he may be the best on the Rock! I too will be down there May 18 to the 26 but it is to talk to some builders! Or google hooked on bass.
