  1. Was kinda wondering the same thing? Thought someone would have given us a bang on the pipes by now.
  2. Good job Vinny, wayda smack 'em around a little! 8-)
  3. I noticed up until the collision there were people in the frame, but not after. 8-)
  4. Vinny, explain your hookset; are you sweeping it, bringing it over your head, or what? It would help to know exactly what your doing. Aside from having a good sharp hook, I don't think your gear is the problem. You should be able to reel up any slack quickly and bring your rod up over your head somewhere around 11 or 1 o'clock and haul the mail.
  5. What about your timing and hookset? :-/
  6. We see this quite often with the flowage fish over here on the EauPleine. If you look closely sometimes you will find little white parasites/worms in the meaty area behind the gill area also. Safe to eat....I would take bear7625's word for it as long as the fish are properly cooked. 8-)
  7. I'm thinking 4#13oz.
  8. If I'm reading things right, this was filed in a district court and their district court system caps judgment at 10g's. Not exactly a huge amount. :-/
  9. Congratulations Pez! It seems the old guy knows what he is talking about, nothin' like being on top of the world, eh?
  10. Kudo's to your cuz, good job! 8-)
  11. Not to put a cramp on the thread, but there are daily threads running as to which rods and reels are better. Anytime the difference between two rods or reels become a gray area or the subtleties become personal preference, imo, it becomes the user that is most important.
  12. Just in case you missed it, 2" twister tails on 3/16 or 1/4 oz. painted jig and minnows (live) hooked about 12" below a 3/16 oz sinker. 8-)
  13. There ya have it. 8-)
  14. I would think that if the report sounds different than what you would think is normal, that you may have some bad ammo. Secondly, if you are shooting a cheap ammo like the Thunderbolt, quit. Give the gun a good cleaning and start using clad ammo so the lead buildup is reduced. The Mark II's are good little guns. FWIW, 22's are a rim fire cartridge not centerfire, they are not reloadable. Good Luck 8-)
  15. Wayda go LT!
  16. Ditto, the best bed time story I have read in a long time. ;D
  17. Running the gorge from Tennessee going into North Carolina. Vermont/New Hampshire Northern Idaho Northern California/Oregon Southwestern Colorado Man, that was the best part of truck driving, the down side was never having enough time to stop and really enjoy any of it. 8-)
  18. I'm a lefty and couldn't shoot a bow or rifle left handed to save my soul. Writing, pool, softball, all left handed though. Sweet piece of machinery you have there. 8-)
  19. Southpaw?
  20. One of my favorite all time lines! ;D There's a few impressive sets of chompers there, wow.
  21. The Premier is one rod that I feel is totally underrated. While I like my Avids, I have had may of the Premiers and still have one. For $100 it is still in my top five pics. 8-)
  22. Everybody who stands to make a profit wins in this situation. The end user does not. They just paid for the name at the expense of quality. You should see how the local Cabela's pushes these things. I bet the mark-up is significantly higher than with other brands whose rods I imagine cost more to build. The profit margin may be higher, but the fact of the matter is that it is still more affordable to those who can't afford to spend big bucks. I do not disagree with what has been said of rod quality and as it happens, I have looked at them Reese rods myself and decided that they weren't for me. There are a lot of people who don't understand technique specifics or materials, or balance, etc. What they do know is what the have to spend and what they are happy with.
  23. Many people from all walks pay attention to these professionals and my bet would be that for the most part most of the retail sales within the fishing industry is generated by lower to middle class income purchasers. In order for these end users to associate themselves with their "favorite" fishing pro, they need products that they can afford. Everybody wins, the manufacturer from volume sales on a lower end product, the end user being able to buy a piece of logo'd or endorsed fishing gear for a reasonable amount of money, and the Kevin Van Dam's of this world because their fan base is getting what they want. I guess what I am thinking is that the Skeet Reese's and Kevin Van Dam's could put their names to $300 rods, but why price your fans out of the mix?
  24. Don't forget the BFH for the incidental work that may be needed. Gotta have one of those! 8-)
