Zel, the PETS article was a hoot ;D The other day I questioned whether or not to upgrade to IE 8 and Glenn hollered not to do it because it was beta. I upgraded to IE7, but was wondering what beta would mean to me as a user. Anyone know?

I guess I feel the chief and his cohorts should be held accountable, and the father, regardless of his grief should be too. No disrespect to 15 yr olds whatsoever, there's alot out there with an abundance of common sense and maturity, but this was like leaving a 15 yr old to supervise an 8 yr old with a table saw, or other dangerous acts that escape me right now. At 8 or 15 you may think that you understand your capabilities, but all the adults in this unfortunate disaster should have known. To me that's what makes all the adults, including dad culpable despite the fact that he was not familiar with firearms. Would the father have said to the 15 and 8 yr old, "sure, go have a great time with the table saw"? :-/

I know it's been discussed a few times, but was wondering if it was legal to store rods with reels still in the seat but with the nut on the reel seat backed off so they sit loose. I am limited for space and store rods in a free standing upright rod rack. Thanks

Actually I believe the Winch is rated for 175 yds of #12. Now if you were to use a super braid on this reel, which I assume you would, I think the line capacity would be more than amble. This thing is made for hauling the mail. JMO

Not knocking the Shimanos, but if you looked at Abu Garcia Toro, take a second look at the Revo Winch.

I am by no means a guide, but I might be able to put him on some good water if I knew about were he was. There's acouple others on here from the LaCrosse and GreenBay area who maybe able to help also. As far as specifics, the fish hit the same stuff up here as they do in other regions. Do you know what kind of fishing he does?

Gonna follow Glenn's lead, but see that there is a download for IE8. Wondering if I should go with 8 or stay with downloading IE7 :-/ Hookemdown, you gave me info on firefox and I downloaded it. Played with it, but can't get used to it. When I get more time this winter I am gonna go back to it and learn it. Couple more weeks and I am gonna have plenty of time!

Josh, I didn't originally mention the Winch because of it's 5.4 gear ratio. I thought maybe you were looking for more of a general use reel. I bought it late this fall and was able to use it fishing cranks, which was my main purpose for buying it. It has the same centrifugal brakes as the s model and along with the slower ratio has a bit more line capacity. I must say that I loved the winch for cranking and may give it a shot at a musky or two. Again, for general use, the Revo s might be the better option because of it's 6.4 ratio.
