  1. Yeah I was going to make it a point to say they weren't top of line, but I figured eveyrone else knew that. Berkley Lightining isn't a bad rod either, but I enjoy the two Acadia I have for a budget fisherman with a kid on the way. I'm so tight I've been told I squeak when I walk,,,,take care. If I had or could afford a nice rod, I WOULD HAVE ONE and I would be using it >?!
  2. I tried out the Revo S with Sufix Braid installed @ 30lb test. I don't know if its where I have a longer rod now from 6' to 6'6" which is much better or that Braid casts this well. I like it alot. It feels a lot different something you have to get use to. It's almost sometimes like casting weedwacker line. On my second cast on my new setup I got a small 1lb dink but it was off a creature bait. I was wondering if the braid would be a problem with clear water. I guess not. So far so good. My setup Abu Garcia Revo S with Sufix Performance Braid @ 30lb Acadia 6'6" M Quantum Tour Edition w/ Yo Zuri Hybrid @ 12lb Acadia 6'6" M I do like it abrasion resistance its like pulling a bass out of a wed bed with towing chain attached. I like so far....
  3. I recently ordered two new rods from www.acadiasports.com with their promo buy one get one free deal. I have to say I bought the F series and I'm really impressed. It looks , feels , and fishes well. After shipping they are $32 dollar rods. What a deal I think. Any other's tried them out?
  4. I have a Abu Revo S and new acquired Quantum Tour Edition PT with the 7.0:1 burner gear. The question I have is I want to try braid, Sufix Elite Braid, and I was wondering what reel woudl be better for the braid? I am thinking of going to the Revo S and use the TE with preinstalled Yo-Zuri Hybrid line as my main Plastics setup. Any thoughts??
  5. Yeah that's about where I'm at. I don't own a spinning outfit. I have all baitcasters. Oh well thought I would ask. Now when is the absolute best time to fish topwater? What is better a spook or a buzzbait. I'm fishing a small pond with no trees or anything.
  6. When is the best time or should I say bait/lure when using a spinning outfit or a baitcaster. I've only ever used a baitcaster for bass. When is it better to use a spining? Thanks,
  7. Everyone I've spoke with at our local bait and tackle shop, they all love it. I don't really notice any big difference between it and Berkley Transition Vanish. It too me is like every other fluro.
  8. I am PCSing (Moving duty stations) to Andrews AFB outside of DC. I will be looking for a new area to bass fish. Perferably one that you can fish around with out a boat. Anything close to the Waldorf area would be nice thanks !!
  9. Hey all servicemen and women appreciate people like you that give back. Today is a day to remember those who have fallen. What they have accomplished, and give thanks for those that we may live in this wonderful place and do things we love to do. I look at Memorial Day as more than just a day off from work. Thanks alot, SSgt Bragg
  10. See that was my next question. Since I do a lot of worm, lizard, and plastics. Will the braid be a huge disadvantage or not? I hope not as far as visibly goes.
  11. Hello everyone, I had a question on what type of line I should use. I have Abu Garcia Revo S baitcaster w/a abu garcia 6' medium pole. I have used flurocarbon lines Pline/Berkley Transition Vanish. I fish mainly small ponds and some lakes. I fish southern ga where vegetation and grass is everwhere. I was thinking of switching to braid. Would that be an ok switch? I'm tired of the flurocarbon at 12 lb test it feels so weedeater like like. What does everyone reccomend I do and what type of braid is good? Thanks,
  12. I went out today with my buddy and his son. I was just trying to help his son out fishing a worm for the first time. I ended catching these while I was out. A little backgorund on the location. I live here on a Air Force base and one 1/4 of this pond can be fished and the rest is a water hazard. But we sometimes sneek in my buddies scanoe and fish around. Their are some big ones in here. Just have to figure out what will work. We caught 4 bass. My two were caught on Zoom Ol' Monster Watermelon red flake with 1/32 oz bullet head, and his two were on Zoom Green Pumpkin Green finesse worms. Not a bad day at all for south GA.
  13. Let me tell you, I went this past weekend to Keaton Beach Fl, and I was using my regulat pole with a popping cork, steel leader, and the red 1/4oz jigheads outfitted with the GULP Alive New Penny Shrimp, boy oh boy did it produce, we caught well over 100 fish, only a few Sea Trout keepers, but these things are awesome. When they are in water they release 400x times the amount of scent of normal bait,a nd they can take a beating when they bit by fish with teeth, Great buy, a little pricey, a quart was $40 but to me worth it. If you go catfishing they also work from what i heard. I have yet to try them. Good luck and let me know.
  14. I would venture out to wal-mart or your local bait and tackle store and look for cricket hooks, they specifically say cricket hooks usually a size 8, I get the renegade, wal-mart brand size 8 for 98 cents for a pack of 15 not a bad deal and they work. Good look to ya, I always use live crickets for bream can't be beat.
  15. I had posted a topic the other day asking for help with a local pond that I've been fishing, once again to reiterate I'm catching all small bass, <1lb. I asked for help and I was given suggestions, Frogs and jigs, and worms. Well I fished the frog on the pads and I got some bites from the Spro frog but nothing monstrous, jig nothing, and a heavy worm i got one bite but again was small, question It shallow most parts and I can see all small bass, should i get a boat and go out deeper, what is a good open water bait? Could you look at attached pic and give me some advice, it's southern ga? Thanks for any help,
  16. Try a zoom finesse worm on the shakey head green pumpkin red is to die for
  17. I would definately take the time to look on BAsspro website under SeaStriker they are comporable to Costa and only 25 to 30 bucks.
  18. I like on bass pro shops to look up SeaStriker, they are almost like Costa and a hell of a lot cheaper
  19. I like the action of the horny toad, and I like the spro frog I bought as well. Pleased on both ends.
  20. Congrats on the PB
  21. Crawfish replica crankbaits are a good investment
  22. Good info, I looked into the spro and they look very nice, are they really that expensive though. I would understand if they hold up, but I figured with any hollow body frog they are only good after a few massive hits. I will give them and horny toads a try. The horny toad is a floating frog right??
  23. I was given some good advice on some topwater frogs. In everyone's own opinon what are some good brands of frogs that consisently produce. Only ones that I have fished before were scumfrogs. Thanks for any help !!
  24. Thanks , I'll be sure to try out the T-Rigged trick worm, I like the Mardi Gras worm a lot, and also the jig and other ideas, Thanks for all the help.
  25. Hello, everyone I've been fishing for a couple years now and had a couple questions. I am fishing a large pond with lilly pads and some hydrilla. I am catcing a lot of lgmouth bass, but they are all small, on a zoom finesse green pumpkin red. I am looking to catch some of the bigger bass that I know are in here. Any suggestions on where to fish. There is hardly no structure and it does have some deep ends. My plan is use the zoom ol' monster watermelon red flake with 1/32 bullet head. But I'm fearing that the small bass will bite again. I've fished this pond several times over and the same result. Small bass. Thanks for any help. Adam
