  1. It's all about leverage. That 7'6" helps you flip the bait in the right area, but also helps pull em out. Trust me you can get a nice rod , I know there's a carrot stix gold 7'6' HF in the flea market for $180 that's a nice light rod. But yes you need it.
  2. I would love to take a float trip down the New River but it's an easy $350 a trip.
  3. It all depends on were your at and what bugs are native to your area. Do some research and then buy accordingly. Nymphs and copper backs have work for me before for smallies. Gotta be kinda big though.
  4. Wow first of all a beautiful fish, second what a dang on waste. You can get one replicated for less, and it will last a life time, but seriously a d**n picture will last forever as well. What a waste. Nice fish.
  5. Sean, Thanks man, I am new to the area so yeah I would open to some advice, fishing opportunities as well. I make a good non-boater as well for some fishing tournaments. I guess we'll see, pm if you got some info !!
  6. I always carry a 7'0" MF, MHF, HF, and 7'0" spinning MF. Good luck to you !!
  7. You can find specific knot for flurocarbon spooling, and it's hard for me to always respool. Maybe someone can help with this....more
  8. The KVD line and lure will work great. I like the hybrid version of Yo Zuri.
  9. I actually bought one and decided that I would take it back and get a better one. If you can make it to BPS this weekend the 14th they are having the Quantum Accurist PT for $ 49.95, last year this reel was $ 130. That's a good reel and definately worth $ 50 bucks, good luck to ya though.
  10. Take everyone's advice. The paca craw can be fished efficiently on the shake2 jig head. The do make great trailers but can sometimes be fished alone. Good luck. It's funny I've fished jigs but never cranks, haha.
  11. Thanks for the response, I checked out the Secret Weapon website and if your Active Duty Military they will give you one free setup with any purchase I purchased two Minikits and got one free. Very good deal for $ 20 bucks.
  12. I have finally decided to check out the different techniques to bass fishing. I am a shore fisherman and I have enough plastics, jigs, buzzbaits to do. But I'm wondering if you could suggest for me the following. Just reply back with what you think would be best. Brands and model if you can. Cheap is always good too, lol 4 Crankbaits Shallow to Medium 4 Spinnerbaits 4 Topwater 4 Jerkbaits Thanks for your help, color reccomondations also welcomed. If you need please use *** as a reference. Thanks, Also I have none of the above. If you could put together a lot to sell, contact me and let me know. ;D ;D :D
  13. I would also like to say there are several foods out there that will help ya with lowering that cholesterol as well. I was 24 and diagnosed with high cholesterol. Take some fish oil, eat some plain ol' fashion Quaker oats. That should help, keep up the exercise you'll be just fine.
  14. I thought it was good, I mean i haven't read the book and for $7.00 it was worth it. It was meant to entertain and it done it's job. I liked the comedian and roarshach's character's the best. Not bad but could have been better. Yeah the whole blue male front nudity was weird, but the one chick in it was fine.
  15. Here's to me hoping the Braid is as good as the Elite.
  16. Good deal, I would take four brand new one's any day. I think it's a good deal if you add the money off.
  17. I'm new to Maryland, moved here to Andrews AFB. I am orignally from WV and I currently live in St. Mary's County. Most people fish for Rockfish and don't care two bits about Largemouth. Should be easier to catch em right? I'll let ya know... Adam
  18. Wow that fish is amazing. Congrats.
  19. You can find a lot of jon boat mods on here. Just search. I wonder how much doing a boat mod costs?
  20. Yeah one day we were fishing at Bank Lake down in deep south of Georgia and my friend was driving and he hit a huge stump, they are all over that lake by the way, and one complete backpack full of plastics and stuff fell overboard. He didnt' lose it all but by the time we made it back around the baits were trash. Other than that I lose stuff all the time, i bought three or four topwaters and have lose them all. Oh well, time to restock.
  21. The Potomac is a great choice. What I would do is do a google search on SM in Maryland. You will find a lot of good info! I also agree with posting in the northeast section of the site. When I was just starting bass fishing, I would post in the western section about my area, and got loads of information. Anyway... Hope this helps! ;D I posted in the Northeast section but not much luck. I googled a lot of info but I figured word of mouth was a better bet. I'll have to travel north a touch I believe to find some smallies.
  22. They are now caring them instead of you having to order them. I liked the smaller ones but after hits on both and catches by two 2lb bass, they were finished. I would invest in the 1/4 size not the 1/8.
  23. You can find a multitude of good reviews on it, but it comes down to what you like. It's good and casts far. Check out tackletour.com and look up line reviews they reviewed it.
  24. That's cool man, what rank is that? I've been in the Air Force for 5 years, testing for my next rank and I've been stationed in the south and now in Maryland. I'm an aviation mechanic. Good job and the Air Force's Aircraft and going anywhere. Best decision I've ever made and the job security is always there.
