  1. Nothing like a beautiful sunrise, flat calm water, and a big ole’ bass on topwater to start the day! And on a side note, yes, those are a pair of $3.00 safety glasses I’m wearing. I’m glad a friend suggested them, because they are best I have found for those very early morning runs to your first spot! Good fishing all, JB
  2. My new Curado and Crucial getting ready to join it’s stable mate. I really enjoy the way they cast a rip bait!

  5. Nice fish @lonnie g! Gotta love it when you’re on a good topwater bite and smashing a popper!
  6. I appreciate your videos, especially #2 @jaimeastin of the green Caddis and your mention your advise. It brings back memories of my first “boat” to go fish the Delta. I believe fishing out of that float tube made me a better fisherman because I couldn’t pickup and run to another spot, I had to fish for the fish that were there. Now it’s been regulated to sitting up in the rafters. And remember to bring your PFD...

  12. I decided to get out on the water this morning, and happy I decided not to cancel on myself. Woke up at 0300 and the wind was howling outside, figured it was going to be a repeat of yesterday. When I finally went downstairs and made a cup of coffee I noticed the wind had stopped, and stepping outside it was dead calm. I’m fishing! I got on the water before first light, last two hours of the incoming tide, water 69 degrees and change. Second stop was a rip-rap bank with sparse tules and some current pushing up on it. I had been successful throwing the Pop Max at my first stop, catching some solid fish up to 2 pounds. So I picked up that rod again. I fired the Pop Max up along the bank and worked the bait towards a small clump of tules. What I believed to be a small fish swirled on the bait, but missed. Instead of retrieving the lure and recasting, I killed it in place. The next twitch I made the water erupted and the fight was on! I could tell right away it was a pretty good fish as it pulled drag and headed into a patch of grass. I was able to get the fish out of the grass and it headed for deep water. The only problem with that was that line was now going towards the other side of the boat between the trolling motor and the bow. For some reason the fish decided to change directions and head for another patch of grass. I was able to hand line her to the boat a short time later and the battle was over! Taking pictures while trying to weighing her was another cluster that I won’t bore you with, but she weighed 6.1lbs and was released unharmed... Good Fishing all, JB
  13. I’m pretty sure we all remember where we were on that day 17 years ago, more so for those on the East Coast... I was in the station waiting for my partner to finish up some paperwork so we could go 10-8 and get back on the street. Someone came in and said “They flew a plane into one of the Twin Towers”. I didn’t believe what I was hearing and was told it was on TV in the Muster Room. I walked in just as the second plane crashed into the South Tower and moments later when both towers came down. Too many good people lost their lives on that day and in the seventeen years since. We honor them all by not forgetting what took place on this day...

  19. I just want to take a minute to say “Thank you” to TH Marine and Evan Boutwell for excellent customer service. Last Christmas I received a Hydrowave as a gift and had it installed on my boat a short time later. The unit started to malfunction as the volume and delay broadcast features stopped working. I called TH Marine and explained the problems to Evan Boutwell, hoping it was glitch I may have initiated and easily fixed. Evan said the unit should still under warranty, and all I needed was proof of purchase to confirm it. I saved the box my Hydrowave came in, which is where I put the gift receipt. I emailed Evan a copy of the receipt and was told a new unit would be on its way to me shortly. Included with the new unit was a return label for the defective unit. I was pleasantly surprised and very pleased at how TH Marine handled my situation allowing me to seamlessly employ a fully functioning unit. Thanks again Evan and TH Marine.
  20. Congratulations on his milestone, one we ALL hope to achieve! May there be many more with continued good fishing.
  21. I use the microfiber cloth from my Revant replacement lenses. In the moment I might use my T-shirt, but for me doing this just rearranges the oils and debris on the lenses.
