  1. I would recommend a BPS Crankin Stick for the rod, great cranking rod at an even better price. For the reel, it depends on what speed you want. Alot of guys, myself included, like a slower reel for cranks. I use a Curado E5 for Mid-Deep cranks and a Daiwa Sol for shallow-mid cranks. I would suggest a BPS Extreme reel, they are offered in all gear ratios and speeds
  2. Yeah....gonna need more info....I'm assuming hollow body paddletail baits...can't really t-rig a hudd or optimum line through
  3. carp and catfish would be good additions....especially grass carp to keep it reasonably clean
  4. true....but if it can't hold a palomar knot like everthing else can, what good is. I'll take P-Line CXX over vanish anyday....Trilene sensation is more durable than vanish I used Vanish for two years without a problem. Never broke a knot. I used vanish and never had a problam...But now I just can't leave braid alone I have been wanting to try Ande's.... I never had a knot problem...my problem was if it can't take two trips over a branche without breaking, then I don't want it. When I first tried it, I lost around 5 jigs, 2-3 tubes, a spook, and what I believe to be a nice fish, nothing huge, maybe 4-5 lbs, hooked up with a spook, she jumped about 10 yards out and slack line, no spook.
  5. perfect. Can't beat that with a whuppin stick
  6. I've never fished the XT but for a reel recommedation I usually say the regular president, great reel, solid, smooth, and can hold up to abuse. If the xt is anywhere close...it's a good choice.
  7. I would say the tourney special combo for $79 would be better
  8. personal preference most likely....mono stretchs and acts as a shock absorber with crankbaits
  9. true....but if it can't hold a palomar knot like everthing else can, what good is. I'll take P-Line CXX over vanish anyday....Trilene sensation is more durable than vanish
  10. Really like the balck TDZ...stealth mode. I also really like the job you did on your new Tour that you posted a while back
  11. You're not alone on this one....the reason I don't use Flouro at all....to be honest, I don't see much difference in vanish and Berkley 100%...except price
  12. a good 'ol wax worm is hard to beat....as for artificial I have had good luck with Yo-Zuri Snap Beans and Pin Minnows
  13. I have said this before and still stick by it, this is how they like to portray him on TV. You hardly ever seen him on television without these moments cut in. He's a helluva fisherman, probably one of the most well rounded out there, IMO. Does he get a little whinny, yes but people deal with adversity different. Plus it's about what is interesting for television, even though they are fishing shows, the FISHING takes a back seat to the antics of certain anglers while on the water.
  14. They are great...Natalie's Rap is the best, and one of the most vulgar songs I have heard.
  15. this is a beast of a wake bait....small in size, big in action
  16. they aren't available til October...cabelas has them online and in the catalog but if you try to order them, you'll get a backorder notice...they do it all the time.
  17. What's he know? yeah really...that's like saying "It's going to rain today if it does" ;D
  18. sure, you can throw swimbaits with any rod as long as its within the rod ratings
  19. As far as I can tell Castaway makes a descent flipping stick. I have the Big Show Flipping Stick that I got from TW for $99. It is a 7'6''H with Mod-Fast tip for fishing braid. Really nice rod for a great price, haven't had many experiences with it but what I have has been good, work has been a little unforgiving this year
  20. web site says 8 but i don't know if thats counting the tip... i'll count in the morning and let you know well :-?
