  1. oh chill, both of you, just a dumb mis communication. The Pa event is somewhat local, not really a Northeast (which would imply representation from all NE states) So, the RI get together BH is thinking about is kind of the same thing, local. So drop it and move on ladies (I know you both well enough to say that, lol)
  2. my mistake,...by all means, use snakes on top in the winter... :
  3. ??? When is the last time you saw a snake out, ....................in 38 degrees? If,there just so happens to be one out, being cold blooded, what are the chances he's active enough to swim? take those odds and figure in how often a bass hits a topwater in 38 degrees. Now you have the BS ratio :
  4. *cough* Hey don't call me out bud! I know what happened on my lake. I got hits on a topwater snake in sub 40 weather. I didn't catch any because I was settin' the hook before they could get the 11" snake in their mouth, but I definitely got hits... THAT'S NO BS!!! Probally wasn't bass! A bass will hit in sub 40 weather, no problem. As for a snake being out and going for a dip in 38 degree weather,....thats another issue. Micro- please insert "hibernation" link or something that explains how cold blooded critters work.
  5. Wow, that's the last time I defend YOU!!! -Little Napolean
  6. No doubt. Time to go to work boys
  7. Jim Johnson of Alabama Live Herp and tackle explaining a topwater snake hit out in front of the Live Herp Tackle booth at ICAST 2007
  8. Good point, don't want to step on toes that will sue you, lol. How about ............................Helios Kustom
  9. Very cool Micro. RI has 1 pair of nesting Bald Eagles. It was all over the news last year, they closed roads and everything just to protect them during their nesting period. I'm sure the state is very curious to see if any chicks made it through to spring and if they are going to nest again. Very cool.
  10. Man am I jealous...... :-[
  11. He's got your # Bizz!! lol 4bizzle is well known for protecting the areas he's finding these fish in by smudging the backgrounds. It's a common practice with most, if not all, of the Cali trophy hunters. I have been getting these pics as the fish have been caught and although anyone here who knows Bizz has no issue at all, I assure you, they're all his. Again, another practice employed by many of the Cali hunters is to hold off posting so the "when" is also not associated with the "where". They'll post the batch of pics AFTER the hot bite is through. They're an odd bunch but a page full of hogs is always a nice read. way to stick 'em Bizz.
  12. This is our exact situation. Ice out, no shad in this lake. Couldn't find any largies today (short trip) but the ones we have been getting are being found on the deep side off the flats. They are staying in the deep water but have been found right at the break. We are finding them on 1 flat in particular, it's the one between the deeper water and the very shallow back coves. we think they are using the deep edge of the flat to hold on as they wait for temps to come up. When they do, they make the next move (daily) into those coves where the waters will be a few degrees warmer than the main lake. We've been getting them on 12-15 ft cranks worked slower than slow.
  13. A few are, for the most part, right. Too many of the normal sized panes would be broken on the journey over from England so the panes were split into quarters.
  14. Arent you going? Nope, couldn't make this one, scheduling conflict.
