I'm all about the fit and some of the boys XL stuff fits me but not the pants or shorts. Well, after a long and very full life, a mentor of mine has passed. 'Granpa" or "capt. Bill" is my ex g/f Michelles grandad. I've known him now for 20 yrs., hard to believe. Capt. Bill is the one person who really, really taught me the saltwater game. known and respected by all his peers, he is not only responsible for putting a fly rod in my hand for the first time (with his son Bob), but for turning many other people on to that next level. Grandpa suffered from stage 4 bone cancer for the last 3 months, it's nice to know he is now at peace. I'm sure he's at the helm of a 54' bertram, looking down and smiling. RIP Capt. Bill and thank you so much for the quality you added to my life.

I'm getting a new 32' Regulator CC, 4 new Penn 130 two-speed reels, the new Furuno radar,a small house in the country, Roberts rod collection, that cutie that works at the bank, a candy cane, a contract with Bassmaster University to go teach for 250k/yr, a pony, a 2005 Aston Martin Vantage,and a new alarm clock because I just smashed the one that woke me up from this dream. ;D

Brutal, yes, but it's fishin' We will rally a bunch of guys to meet up. I've been waiting a few years to meet some of the NH guys, maybe we can all get together for lunch one Saturday. I miss my travel comrades also, cigarlover and NBoucher, been too long.

What a class act. Ish has always been known as the "approachable", every day guy. He is very popular with the on-line community as well. He answers his own emails and answers questions for every day anglers just like us. If you watch the "yo Ish" segments on ESPN, you'll notice that whether you are a pro or a rookie, a man or a woman, a kid or an adult, you get the same old, friendly, educator of a guy. Thumbs up to Ish for keeping his roots firmly planted.

TNF will be launching a spring campaign where they will be using one of my pics for a full size cut out. Now, when you go into any Eastern Mountain Sports or REI store, you can look and say "I know that duuuuude"! I can't post the pic yet, for obvious reasons, but it is a true New England, "I can't believe I'm fishing in this crap weather" kind of pic.

Well, it looks like you'll have a LOT more ammo than they will for any conversations concerning our green friends

I know a few guys like you 5bass. I never really spent too much on the gear (presidents,spidershafts,etc) so when something breaks, ow well, and if it seems to not be getting used, it gets given away. I buy a new reel for every new rod, like the Tierra I bought for the Turkey Run rod, the dozen Presidents and 4 Penn's for the spidershafts,etc. The next few rods I buy will be additions to the Turkey Run rod compilation, with a set of 5 being the ultimate goal. These will get better than avg "Low Budget" reels because I plan to stick with them and only them for a good amount of time.

Very true. Even Bill can teach you a thing or 2, just as long as you remeber that a crankbait is a crankbait, a spinnerbait is a spinnerbait and a trick worm is a trick worm. Substitute the brand you use for the one being pushed and there is still quality info coming at you.

You're choices aren't very good, you chose the 3 guys that are known for being the biggest product pushers out there. (not a knock on them, that's what they get paid to do) Personally, I would say Zona and his new show "WGFS"

A big factor here is that the price was right. Still undeveloped, they jumped on it . I would bet it is more of an investment, than anything. Not saying the fishing isn't awesome, just saying , they recognized an opportunity.
