Your chance to top Fish Chris!
WooHoo PB 9.2, record is 10.6 87% Nothing personal here but Flechero is right. FishChris has spent years finding and studying the habits of trophy class fish ONLY. He has applied science and skill and then luck was nearby (at first) But with each strike of luck, he learned. Now he has double digits of double digit bass and they aren't all the same 3. It is what it is.

CC Handgun
Well, with my size and stature, I normally scare off anyone that wants to mess with me by puffing up my chest and giving them "the look",lol But on days when I'm not feeling especially strong or when my super powers are recharging, I carry one of these. Usually loaded with a tropical punch martini or some type of grain alcohol. Does a number on the seals but packs a good wallop!

L.B.H. sent a email...boat primer question
Put a piece of heavy tape on the backside of what you are welding, it will hold it in the hole long enough to let it set up (the heat isn't the same as with real welding). Another suggestion, if it is rivets that you are welding is to drill out the old rivet and replace it with a small, tapered head bolt. (a dab of 5200 on each bolt) TAKE PICS and keep us posted

Whooo Hooo !!! :-) It only takes one fish......
So how are you feeling,...still "messed up"??? Way to go Fish, nice assist on the documentation Matt, nice pics.

I started doing that but I was using a 4" brush and it was just easier to use 1 tool. I could do it all with the brush but only the flat panel areas with the roller. The brush covers those areas just as quick and gets the "V" grooves at the same time. The trick to not having brush marks is really taking your time with the prep work. Proper prep work allows the paint to "flow out" (eliminating any lines you see at the moment of painting, they disappear) The painting is the easiest, quickest part. I honestly wouldn't bother with the roller for a 12'. If it were a 16', it might be different.

YAMAMOTO VS OTHERS (soft plastic)
So true If you cannot affort 6 bucks for a bag of bait. You are in the wrong hobbie Problem is,....I actually catch. $6/bag may be fine for you if you fish twice a month and catch 2 fish each time. We've gone through over 400 sticks so far this yr. Do the math. If the baits I use ripped as easily as a GYCB, that number would be even higher. Now I'm not poor, but I am kind of offended that you think if I can't afford the over-priced baits, I shouldn't be in the game because, quite frankly, I get my confidence from the fish I catch, not the price tag on the bag. Like it says above, if you only have confidence in the $$$ baits, perhaps YOU are in the wrong hobby. MOST people get into fishing BECAUSE it is a low cost form of outdoor recreation, I'm sure many of them might find your comment offensive as well. Let me put it this way, I make enough money to be able to afford to pay $5 for a gallon of gas, but if the $3/gallon get me to the party,....why on Earth would I pay $5?? This is about common sense, not economic stature.

YAMAMOTO VS OTHERS (soft plastic)
Well,...I'm assuming there will be a big 'ol lake there too...... All those new lures,......LOTS to "Discuss"!!

YAMAMOTO VS OTHERS (soft plastic)
I hear where you're coming from Avid and I give tons of credit to GYCB for MANY innovative products they have brought to our arsenals. I do however think it is a business decision to use larger salt crystals. They tear quicker which ..... a. gives the appearance they are even softer than they already are and yes, they are softer than a knock off,IMO but I think the difference is minimal to non factoring (This is a fish that eats many bony, spiny and shelled critters) b. Requires often replacement. I think it is a $$ making decision. Not judging it, just not supporting it. This has nothing to do w/ the loyalty to the baits I DO use, it's merely the reason I first sought them out.

Have I messed myself up ???
Everyone's mindset is different. I go to the lake with the thought that there will be no bite, they'll be shut right down, regardless of conditions. I'm never let down. 1 fish=success when this is your mindset, 45 fish = great success, a trophy,...well, it is just that, a trophy. Now, this works for me, not everyone though. With your mindset, I see lots of disappointment with sporadic surges of exuberance. BUT that would be if it were me ...If you, as a personality, are finding satisfaction with the fishing aspect of your life,...Then who are we to judge your "Fix". BTW- Have you ever been typed as an "Over-Achiever"?? ;D

A Very Puzzling Question...Confidence
Confidence is established. Show up at the lake with 2 lures. Learn them till you know them in your sleep.

YAMAMOTO VS OTHERS (soft plastic)
Not in my fishtank and not in the neighbors pool, must be the water you're throwing in And I understand how larger size salt can make them rip much quicker but I don't see where this is relevant to "action"

Finally, got 1st place!
Way to go MOM!!!! (Now where was that thread about bright colors scaring the fish..... ;D )

Boat project pic at last
Take your time doing the mods the first time. Nice neat wire management, finished edges on the carpet, flush mounts for add ons, all these things keep the boat neater, cleaner and safer. That's the great thing about jons, they can be modified in ANY number of ways to fit ones needs.

Have I messed myself up ???
If the trophy becomes the norm,...what becomes the trophy? As long as you are getting what you want out of the trip, it's all good, but wouldn't you rather have 2 days like this and a 12 on your 3rd than 2 skunks on the first 2 days? Time to weigh your priorities, only you can answer this one.

Do birds move out of there nest?
Way to take one for the team. There must be bird forums out there and I bet they could answer this one in a snap.

Berkley Fishing Products
Ditto. Also, the way the gulp stuff turns to leather is a large drawback. Well, they can take their "new" XT mono and stick it up their... I've been using this on my Tierra since March, both freshwater and saltwater with awesome performance. I am surprised how satisfied I am and will consider it a new low cost alternative.

Tools For Gut Hooked Bass
My favorite are the Rapala pliers with the "O" ring tips. The "beak" type tip allows you to follow the shank and turn the hook before trying to extract it. The loop in the middle which creates the spring action, also doubles as a control stabilizer. Your middle finger goes in the loop allowing them to hang on that one finger which leaves the outside fingers free to just manipulate the hook. (hope that makes sense) I also advise adding a leash with a float
