  1. Well done, good luck in college.
  2. Squirrel watch in effect,lol
  3. Let's remember, laws like this are designed to protect our waters. Granted, they may cost money or be a pain in the butt but I know I don't want a zebra mussel population in MY lake!!
  4. Nice. Way to go sharing the wealth with that other boat too, nice gesture.
  5. Brad, Have you ever seen those in larger sizes? Special runs or anything? I was using the one Excalibur spook for yrs before I realized there were a few different sizes within the Excaliber series.
  6. Much better as a twitch bait than a walking bait. One of my favorites, just twitch the rod tip and shake it in place, leaving it in the strike zone longer, drives 'em nuts.
  7. This is great, I can't wait for the whole Book to be written!! Risk, you need to read back to chapter 1 when Muddy and Ron were down at the dam. Muddy in the front with his legs crossed, cig going, leaning back in the front seat and Ron driving,....all tanned up and glittering with gold jewelery, going about 10MPH up in 2 ft of water w/ the T/M down!!! DON'T YOU REMEMBER??? For a bunch of misery, you've certainly gotten your $$ worth in smiles from us!! Think about it, it eases the pain and makes it kinda funny when you are anxious to go tell everyone on BR,lol. You're sense of humor and being able to laugh at yourself is what sets you apart!! This stuff is awesome,...MORE,.....MORE!!
  8. I think it's called "selling tickets" ;D
  9. Good point surfer but that sure would be a perfect hull to use as a mock up for a mold! Nice find.
  10. I agree. I have 31 videos in a bright red boat to prove it too. Noise is not the topic though, I totally agree that noise will spook nearby fish but color...... ......too many big fish in that boat to believe color makes a difference. (by "big fish", I am speaking of the largest size class in any given lake, geography obviously matters)
  11. spark plug w/ a treble pinched into the gap. Bluefish will eat anything moving. How about plain wood?
  12. If anyone helps me out and sends some, please post here so I'll know. If I can't get folks to participate, I'll nix the project but don't want to be working on it for nothing If you send, please post. Thanks folks.
  13. Have we met? That's what people here in RI call me. (or,... are you a "psychic angler", man, that would be quite an advantage )
  14. 5/8 ply, resined. Nick- refers to thickness of plywood. If pedestals are going to be used a box frame can be made from 1x1 to support that particular area. Gotta get to work, I'll draw a pic tonight.
  15. You are dealing with a creature that feeds on instinct much more than on what it has "learned" With this in mind, snakes might be great up there BECAUSE they haven't seen them. All the bass knows it that it meets the criteria. A. fits in it's mouth B. Is alive C. Is slow enough to catch w/o expending much energy
  16. Robert, you don't count, it has to be in the water to matter GO FISHING!! You are the biggest oxymoron I know, a work-a-holic fisherman ;D Believe me, the fish know the boat is there, regardless of what color it is. For arguments sake, has anyone ever studied the psychological effects of color? Red triggers and "Aggressive" reaction in animals, light blue, light greens, etc, total opposite. This is why our school classrooms are painted these muted soft colors. My boat just ticks 'em off,lol
  17. Sorry bud, I just don't have that kind of tolerance in me any more,...believe what you will Let's not make this a religion vs. facts thread. Back to the topic.
  18. that's awesome Brad,.....only when you're fishing does stuff like this happen,lol.
  19. stick with the panfish, perch and catfish, bass taste terrible

Very cool Glad you didn't evict her! :) I'm assuming wrens don't have a very strong sense of smell?? lol
  21. I use the Pastene "ground peeled" or "kitchen ready" tomato's
  22. contents should be either covered or not, wouldn't matter what they are. It's usually no different than a car. If thieves break your window, damage your door, while stealing your stereo, they don't just replace the door and window, with receipts, the stereo is covered too but will have a value cap Good luck. > (Please list what was stolen. As a mod, we check the flea market often and if you print a list here, it will jump at us if it shows up in the flea market.)
  23. got a sailboat marina nearby? when I was younger, I scrubbed the bottom of sailboats. Seagrass grows on hulls. at first, it is just a slimy dirt coating. This slows sailboats down. For $100, you hop in with a snorkel and sponge and give her a quick scrub. Takes from 1/2 hr to an hour per boat, depending on size. Do the math, that's $100-200/ hr. It is cheaper than having the marina lift theirr boat on the sling crane so they can pressure wash it.
  24. Dave, hang tight, the blues will be here soon and they can be had from shore all day, and you're in a prime spot. Also try the point off Potowammut. I see them there most often within casting range. Another prime spot is Barrington Beach. They use the cove to corral baitfish and the melee can last hours with bl;ues pushing the bait right up on to the beach with each wave,...literally. The stripers are only in specific spots, using the structure in a specific way and there are even fewer spots that hold the cows. All require a boat for the most part. The blues though,.....they're close, I can smell 'em, CAN'T WAIT!
  25. Now that you've got me thinking about length, this fish looks like the length of a solid 5 lbr in summer. we've hit fish to 7 lbs in here NOT during the spawn. State record could be sitting on a bed in there as we type......
