  5. That's just fantastic!! You guys did a stellar job for those kids, tell me THAT wasn't extremely gratifying!! THAT'S how to do something constructive right there, way to give back!
  6. I know there are a lot of folks who are doing video this year. It is getting to be the time of year where there is just enough footage to throw something together. If anyone has questions or suggestions regarding anything to do with recording and reporting your outings with video, let's hear them. I know KU has one almost done, Live 2 fish just posted an excellent one, who else has something in the works?
  7. Of course Al. Stay safe brother.
  8. 1. Find shelter immediately, head for the nearest land. 2. Learn something from what you just went through so it never happens again.
  9. That's "The Fishin' Hole' " (Andy Griffith's theme song )
  10. I fished out of Striper Marina for 8 yrs, that's where the name was originally born. we won the june moon striper tourny 2 yrs in a row from a 16 ft LOWE (budget hookers) Jon boat in the river fishing the hole in front of the wharf tavern at the green can. Man,...we got under some skin, lol.
  11. Feldbass, WELCOME ABOARD!! A fellow Rhode Islander, I am from Barrington too!! I used to live RIGHT ON Barr. Bch, Fesenden dr. I moved to EG 4 yrs ago and MISS MY BEACH!! we are the ones that used to stick the sign in the sand that said DAQUIRI'S and an arrow pointing towards the house. Ring a bell? We were also the ones that held the 2 band parties and never got shut down NOW does i ring a bell?? Small world, VERY small town folks. OK, so Back on topic, we hit it again this morning for a few hours, cookie cutter keepers off Pine Hill again. Neighbor Dennis joined us also
  12. A hoop ring is provided, built into the bait (comes from the belly) You can attach a split ring and treble or even a single hook for a stinger. (more of a 2nd hook than a "stinger" as it does not run "behind" the bait but under it.
  13. Different size hooks control different fall rates. smaller-slower, heavier-faster For wacky rigging, we use 2/0, 3/0 and 4/0 depending on how fast you want it to drop.
  14. People use the "O" ring when wacky rigging, not T-rigging, and even then, it's only if you are using Yamamoto because of how they are designed to tear. I notice folks are using worm and ewg hooks for wacky rigging. These will work but are not designed for this. Octopus or circle hooks are for wacky rigging and worm and ewg's are for t-rigging.
  15. Excellent! 8-)
  16. RW's tactic merely describes how to hit the "most effective" zone in MOST lakes. A general place to start. Personally I think you should try my method. Cast it out there, anywhere, lower and lay rod down. Answer phone, have conversation. Light cigarette and retrieve rod. Often, there is something on the other end. Pro's call this "dead sticking",...I call it the Nextel pattern.
  17. We all do, hence the comments. Supporting any bass, let alone a 6lbr, by it's jaw alone like that, certainly can harm it. Straight up and down or 2 hands. (You just might have less 6 lbrs die on you) The formula is a general one for "most" fish, try plugging your numbers into the fish calculator in the "tacklebox" in the above toolbar. It has been modified to closer represent certain species. Pretty sure you'll get a pretty close result.
  18. NATHAN_JAMES and I shot out this morning with Cap'n Bob for a few hours of striper fishing in Narragansett Bay. This far up in the bay, we only get the cows for a week or so and then we have lots of action with fish like these, 18-30 inchers. These guys seem skinnier than in years past but they are here to fatten up so give them a few weeks and they'll be adding a few pounds and developing bellies. Great fun just the same on freshwater gear and what a beautiful holiday morning to be on the Bay. A special thanks to Cap'n Bob (Michelle's dad) VIDEO (4 mins)
  19. Not if the cans are full of Heineken
  20. I'd have to side with cajun and Fl_Fisher.
