  1. Thanks guys, and yes, that is Matt in the red hat and grey shirt.
  2. My life is a workout. Between emptying my UPS truck and filling it back up everyday and then launching a boat by hand and reeling in all those bass on the weekends,....man, I'm beat! Sam makes some good points. DON'T CHEAT! (you are only cheating yourself)
  3. CANCEL???? :-/ High Five is more like it! low light rainfall (adds oxygen and provides food opportunities) Less folks on the lake. Get yourself some good Gore-Tex gear and attack those days
  4. And 57 the day before that, 35 the day before that, 31 the day before that, 40 the day before that...etc etc etc Thanks Brent
  5. I use all ***, can't beat the prices for same results as the big money plastics. RW- IS there a 6" knock off? I looked last year but couldn't find any. I can get 7's but not 6's.
  6. The fishing reports in the local paper around here are based on what the tackle shop owner (who is interviewed) has too much of!! If he's got 2000 fluke rigs in the shop, guess what,....the fluke bite is "red hot" Not reliable at all.
  7. Everyone has been posting so many great outtings, I have been getting terribly jealous, lol. MY TURN! Although the big fish have eluded us this year, we have been having some tremendous action. From ice breaking to a top notch spawn that fell dead on the week Dirk and I were on vacation, this video packs it all. Lots of "Doubles"!! I had so much footage, but all of smaller fish. I have so much now, that I had to put together a video or there would be too much to go through when we finally figure out where our big girls went. Special guests in this one include my friend Linda who made the trip from Vt to come play with our RI bass and Matt5.0 from right here on the board. It's been lesson season for matty and man, what a student. Willing to listen and a real producer as he gets the knack of things. Matt has gotten his first jig fish, senko fish and bedding fish ever in the last few weeks and a a special thanks to him for a great weld job on Big Red and on Dirks boat as well!! Enjoy and remember, "F9" for "full screen viewing" SEASON OPENER '07
  8. Yea, you're alright Muddy Keep up the good work and my hat is off to you for paying it forward to so many of the guys involved in the program today. WAY TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE!! Things happen for a reason, you were given that disease to show you how strong you can be.
  9. That would be a GYCB thing. try an ***
  10. Awesome muddy. Glad you guys got to spend some more time in the boat but I'm sure it won't be the last.. Safe travels Ron!
  11. A few yrs back, Dirk was fighting a fish that was "better than average", we were thinking 5 ish. The fish wrapped on a stick in 15 ft of water but we could feel that she was still on the hook. Out of fear of killing a big fish, I went in and dove down. She was circle wrapped around the stick and I could not get her untangled. I cut the line, much to Dirks dismay, but wasn't going to let a fish like that suffer. To this day, he doesn't know the fish was WELL over 5 lbs. Dirk, If you're reading, it's time you knew. Sorry bud.
  12. the smartest fish is the cutthroat trout with an IQ of 2. I've been skunked more than once in this life. Who's dumb now? ;D
  13. My ex g/f suffered panic attacks (no, not because she had to sleep with me ;D ) She was given klonopin (sp?) She was a drooling fool in no time. Became a total airhead and is to this day, dependant on them to a point where she goes and buys them off the street. BE CAREFUL. Hoping you find an answer.
  14. Randy Howell is a friend of the board, he carried our "mojo" charm with him during the classic, did you get a chance to speak with him?
  15. More good advice.
  16. This one is simple. BE YOURSELF!! Have confidence in the person you are, THAT is what attracts a person, not who you live with, how much you make etc. IF those are the things a girl is interested in, look to the next one. If you talk to a girl this weekend, pretend it's just another person. Think of it like you are just chatting w/ a BR member or something and let your true self come out.
  17. It IS a road,.....Muddy mastered the bass boat and moved on to "jet-liners", first day with no instruction,....things got tricky :
  18. "counting rocks"- great analogy, I'll be using that in the future. A very good way to describe what we mean when we say "fish it slow"
  19. Night time is the right time for us. NEVER FISH ALONE AT NIGHT, and Avid is correct, if you spook easily, stay home. I like the fact that when you take "vision" away from your arsenal, your other senses tweak right up. REALLY puts you "in tune" with your game. Night fishing isn't for the bank beater, open water is more conducive. We have good luck targeting the larger fish that use the security of the night to move from deeper water to the flats to feed. Big Baits are a favorite to most although I will use everything, depending on what the fish want, right down to a morsel sized craw. Many swear by black for a color. Personally, I don't think black is ever a bad choice. A good rule to go by is to hold the lure up over your head, you want to see a good silhouette of the bait against the night sky. Hope this helps
  20. 'Fraid so Pardner.
  21. go to the "tacklebox" in the menu bar at the top of this page. Click on "Fish calculator" This particular calculator is slightly more accurate than most, it was "tweaked" by the big guy.
  22. Have you considered a spinning reel? Also, there are things you need to know about a baitcaster. There are things you need to "set" according to the weight of what you are throwing and also a few quick tips from the folks here will surely have you throwing one in no time. Don't be intimidated. Spinning gear is in between the two as far as ease of use. After a 1/2 hr, you'll be a pro.

  24. Look at the tail in Rauls 1st pic, reminds me of putting a ninja engine in a moped.
