  1. *** ***- color doesn't matter
  2. Baits MADE BY fishermen and designed to catch BIG FISH. Deadly combo, especially in "big fish" states Kudos Matt
  3. Normally I would reply to this title with a "yes" but after reading your applications, absolutely not. Spinning gear for light, unweighted plastics.
  4. Not "senkos" but "trick sticks" (same thing) THIS IS WHY
  5. "not knock-offs" good one, lmao As we all know, I can't agree with that statement, too many big fish in the boat to argue but the size comment,...absolutely. RW throws the 6" almost exclusively for this reason. You will avoid many of the smaller fish. Numbers go down but size goes up. THINK BIG. Even topwaters, try an excalibur spook (5 3/8 inches) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ One thing RW and I will certainly agree on is that if you want bigger fish,....move to deeper, off shore water. Get out in the open water and find the 10-15 ft deep structure. Also, if t-rigging isn't getting it done, try them wacky rigged next
  6. Way to go Craig!! We just came into the spawn down here, last week was amazing, this should be your week up there, hurry,....CALL IN SICK!!
  7. I'll settle this. It's wide. ;D Let's move along guys
  8. Sounds like you are catching fish that are bedding. Same fish will take a bait 3 or 4 times in a row if it's a threat to the nest. Much more a natural instinct to protect it's offspring than being "dumb" though.
  9. Lake Tahoe-Emerald Bay in particular
  10. well, thats a 1964 12' so there is no extra option of a separate drivers seat. The grey stuff is indoor/outdoor carpeting (Lowes). The floors are 3/8 cdx plywood, carpeted. I love the way this boat fishes. If you are going with a 12, this is in my opinion, the best set-up for fishing 2 people. If you ALWAYS fish alone, deck from the front seat to the middle seat and add a foot control TM.
  11. I'm single and it shows,,..........I kiss 'em all. :-* ;D
  12. That thing is all of 6lbs, minimum, IMO. Way to go!! Wacky rigged senko is both my savior and crutch. It works so well, it's tough to fish other set-ups, decreasing versatility. But even knowing this,.....I can't put it down, lol. (ps- change your clothes once in a while, geez,...j/k )
  13. Thanks Cliff. She's just tin but sure makes me grin.
  14. 12' is about as big as you can go w/o a trailer, unless you are one strong dude. a 12 jon still offers lots more room than a 10 bass hound however. LOT'S of room
  15. You can set up an appointment and the state police will come to the boat for a vin check for the registry. I had title issues with mine and this is what it took. Drama, but it CAN be done. avid- I really would suggest looking into jons. Especially if "leg room" is appreciated. They are lighter, roomier, and stabler with much more "surface/deck area". (and if they develop a leak, you don't have to drill a hole in it to drain it )
  16. Just fix the problem. If it is a bad rivet, drill it out and replace with a tapered head bolt (from the bottom) To find the bad rivet(s), put boat on saw horses and add an inch or two of water to the inside. Get underneath and circle the leakers with a crayon "sealing" with a liner coating is only temporary, adds weight (on inside) or bad drag (on outside) "eliminate, don't compensate"- My Granpappy's quote regarding "problems"
  17. I didn't see it but I'd put $10 on the "strike king-king shad" Look like THIS ? (click on "King Shad" on the left column,...scroll down)
  18. captain and coke gin & tonic etc
  19. Another vote for the calcutta here. I also have RW's old corvalus (not old , but was his before). If you want to try a round body for flippin to see if it's what you want, I can send this one down for you. (it's pretty much brand new)
  20. Congrats!! (but don't rush it,....) 8-)
  21. I hope you released her so you could catch her once she has a chance to grow up,lol ;D Awesome fish! Dang, she's purdy.
  22. When the visible spawn dies off, cast that next step down in depth . Echoing Avid, move it deeper. The temps where those beds are will be slightly behind the ones in shallower water because of light penetration and will spawn a bit later. High odds that your numbers will drop and your size will increase. When the post spawn starts kicking, it can be tough but rewarding if you pull yourself away from the easily targeted post spawners and keep targeting those deeper fish.
