  1. Welcome Bdog!
  2. WOW Deal of the day right there!!! That's awesome. I really like the graduated step to the bow, never seen one done like that. Good luck with her!
  3. Noone is slamming Dave, trust me, that will NEVER happen here, on this site. The folks are simply asking for follow up from someone who's opinions are highly respected.
  4. I'd be willing to bet they've changed plenty but unfortunately we didn't hasve Kodaks 65 mill yrs ago. You are certainly a dying breed (no evolutionary joke intended ) Science has come a long way in the last 200 yrs, kinda tough to dispute THAT much evidence.
  5. same one as from 30 yrs ago,...zebco 33 This is an 8 lbr that this young man caught with a zebco 33 combo. (I just love sharing this pic ) Dad helped keep the rod tip up but other than that, it was an 8 yr old, an 8 lbr and a Zebco 33 in this battle and look who won!
  6. Craw, if you need to borrow some money for a ring, let us know
  7. no,no,no....put boat on a set of saw horses, fill with 6" of water. Look underneath and circle all leaking rivets with a crayon. Drill out old rivet and replace with a tapered head bolt and nut. A dab of 3m 5200 on each bolt. Like granpappy said, when it comes to problems, eliminate, don't compensate. Your very best bet is to have them welded but not everyone knows someone who can weld aluminum.
  8. Man, that's awesome Senile!! The riches of life right there. PFD's, catch n release, way to walk the walk buddy You're setting a great example. (don't sweat your looks man,....you're not 1/2 as ugly as your wife says you are!! ;D )
  9. You can use PVC but I would suggest buying a tube. PVC, cap end and glue will cost SOMETHING and the tubes are very affordable. I have the bazooka pro, the mack daddy, and even that was only $40. The smaller ones are even cheaper (mine holds 12 rods)
  10. Awesome Airborn!! I would guess that one could go anywhere from 3.5 to 5 lbs!! WooHoo!!
  11. A fish like that will make you more than curious, it'll make you go fishing!!
  12. I know a guy....... (yes, that's a pile of Steez/megabass rods in the background, lol) Ever see the Opus-1 by Evergreen??? They come in at about 1k.
  13. Well THAT explains why our spawn is all screwy this year! lol Cool tidbit RW
  14. X2. Stay safe Al. Talk soon.
  15. The "O" rings can be bought at any NAPA store and yes, the tubing works also. Yamamoto only, other brands don't need them.
  16. I may be wrong but I think the 320 lacks the power and resolution to distinguish between the 2.
  17. Low_Budget_Hooker replied to a post in a topic in Tacklemaking
    Top notch, as usual
  18. Time, patience, trial and error. If you'll notice something on each trip like you are describing, you are learning. Stick with it. This is the time of year called the "spawn". This is what those nests are. They could be bass or bluegill nests. You'll have better luck bank fishing if you switch to soft plastics. Go to the tackle section here and read a few of the threads under the "everything you need to know about senkos" sticky. Also check out some of the beginner articles in the toolbar above. Don't stoop asking questions, we'll be happy to answer as you go along. GOOD LUCK!! (and of course, welcome aboard!)
  19. 2 oz rat-l-trap embedded into the bone on top of my skull. I have seen a few doozies out on the tuna grounds though. One guy stepped into a loop of line on the deck that had a mako on the other end. The fish got away from the leader man and that loop cut the guys ankle to the bone. Also, same week, Tuna comes alive again once inside the boat, broken tibia.
  20. LBH--Correct me if I am wrong but don't female Bass have TWO openings on their underside and male only ONE?? I thought "sexing" a fish only required looking for the number of openings. Nope, that would be humans There may be a certain fish that this holds true for but for the general fish population, 1 hole, called the "vent".
  21. Never abuse your new "mom" ok, some but not too much. Easy enough You must be slightly conceited. Have you seen my 30 videos? Remember, I live in KY so you must be at least 12 yrs younger (this is debatable in some counties) than me (I'm 47) I'm 40, in Ky, I hear there are exceptions You must give GREAT gifts for MOM. Well, I've been told I have quite the imagination and I learned years ago that gifts are about the thought involved. You MUST be proud of your heritage (you would have to convert to Kentuckyism) at least occasionally I've travelled to 17 countries, lived Bermuda,Lake Tahoe, VT and RI. I'm very good at adapting to and learning from, new cultures I might loan you money, I might loan you my new truck, You may always return home, I'll take you fishing but never, NEVER ask to borrow my boat! The only time I would ever take your boat would be to save you or someone in our family from harm or unnecessary suffering (and only if my bigger, better boat isn't at the dock) To do so, you will forever endure the hex of never catching as many fish as MOM. I would only assume some of this amazing talent I have came from my parents...(refer to conceited requirement) Oh, WAIT!! IF I get accepted,.....does this mean WESTPALM is my BROTHER??? :-? Cause, I'm just sayin',...you know how kids are,...they team up on the parents and if we ever did that,....... Oh man,...family dynamics have me all messed up,lol
  22. I finally spent my BPS card that Glenn gave me at Lake Fork 3 packs of skip gap hooks 2 packs of Cane toads per Rolo's recommendation in a thread I read A spook that's....well.....spooky. This thing is HUGE! A jitterbug because I needed one. A pack of octopus hooks (25) A couple lure wraps for Dirk because he's been aces lately helping me out, a real "go to" kinda friend. (Who is trashing his new truck seats with treble hooks, lol)( plus, you gotta always "pay a little forward")) MY FAVORITE pliers EVER! Already have a pair that are all but worn out, lol, a new set is going to be nice and last but not least, by any means, a much needed 2nd drift anchor. This one is larger so now I have 2 sizes, control under ANY weather Thanks again Glenn, it was great to come home to a BPS box at my door :)
