  1. Mike, this trip is reserved STRICTLY for people with a bass Resource username ONLY!! lol Seriously, the number of stars or posts has always been irrelevant to the main forum body here. We'd be happy to have you along!!! If you decide to definately go, PM me so I can add you to the list.
  2. Awesome!! Can I call 'em or what? lol 8-) (Is that a yellow Jon boat?)
  3. "Spectrum" meaning the full range of replies, lol
  4. If you re-read my reply, it covers the entire spectrum, lol.
  5. THIS THREAD is all about how I did mine, including materials, stages, etc
  6. two cents here. I decked one of my boats in the rear like you want to do, to cover the batts. Turned out to be more drama than it was worth. Getting batt's in and out was a pain and that gap down there comes in handy when you have to deal with a motor. Not having that gap, to put your feet down in, makes for an uncomfortable angle when addressing motors. Plus, it makes a good trash compartment, lol. Cig butts, line, cups, etc, all get handed back and dropped in the rear. We have a barrel at the house that we back down to where we keep the boats, At the end of the day we just back 'em in, hook the batteries up, empty the trash and call it a day. Just my .02 Good luck and take pics of whatever you decide to do.
  7. I would suggest working the clubs first. If meeting women is tough in high expectation places like the clubs, try the super market. I've found a couple keepers in the frozen foods aisle. No Bass should ever have to go through that.
  8. Depends, when fishing with just my main partner, size. When bringing other people who aren't as hard core about it, I just want them to catch first and then catch a big one once that's accomplished. Set your goals in stages. Catch catch bigger cath biggest 8-)
  9. ok, for everyone above, I have your pics and KU's video, all working fine except for troutfisher. We can try AIM tonight, IM me. Please send these pics and clips to my email as opposed to PM and include your member name. Thanks folks, keep 'em coming!!
  10. Well, with the top name off the rack stuff, you are paying alot for customer service and warranty. Many will declare how they've been hooked up by some of these top companies. Think of it like a motorcycle. You can go to Harley and buy their top of the line bike, brand new. Beautiful machine, no doubt, if somthing goes wrong, there's your warranty, etc. BUT. Go to a custom bike builder and your arm length, saddle length, etc are all made right into the bike. Either way, they are both sweet rides.
  11. Before you have the gear to throw these suggestions or they will just sit there. You want a heavy or XH rod , 7-8', with a wide spool, round body reel. Also check out the matt lures bluegills and baby bass.
  12. You get the plane tickets and someone to put us up and I'LL buy the darn gadget, lol.
  13. Trout- I got it and it downloaded it but it won't play. :-/
  14. Well, Frank isn't a big religious person but I know he's happy the Coast Gaurd answers their radio!!lol. Who knows, he may be slightly more religious this week than he was last week, lol.
  15. Geez, other than mailing it, I'm not sure. Can you try zipping it and emailing? RW- you can post that in our section and I'll grab it from there.
  16. I'm having Flechero build a rod for me. Gift to self
  17. the gods often reward insanity cold water, be careful.
  18. Yesterday I got a call around sunset that a friend of mine was in the middle of being rescued off the NJ coast. F/V Jesse James of Point Judith, RI was reported to be having troubles offshore. My friend Barry had made radio contact with him earlier the day before and he was complaining of extreme seas and very high winds. You have to know this captain to get the jist of this. This is one of those hard core captains,..15 ft seas and 40 mph winds are just another day at work for this crew. When he comes over the radio with a worried sound in his voice about the "weather",....it's time to worry. His wife was a complete mess all night, my g/f slept over there to help with the kids and just lend moral support. I met Frank on the docks, years ago and my g/f went to school with his wife and they stayed friends after. We usually do dinner there once every couple months, often times, Frank is out to sea. Many Rhode Islanders make their living on the water. When one is in trouble, the whole state is on alert. We are a small state but that is not neccessarily a bad thing. when trouble comes we pull together. Frank and crew are safe, the coast guard saves the day once again. The boat is currently being towed to a Jersey port. More good news. If that boat went down, so would his means to support his family. All is well, Truly making this a time of year for giving thanks. Coast Guard- We LOVE YOU guys and keep you all close to our hearts!!!!!
  19. You just need a better lake map,lol j/k ;D
  20. I would go with a 1236. Light enough to get on the roof alone and sturdy enough to hold 2 adults.
  21. This post is exactly why I won't spend over $100 for an "off the rack" rod. I am finding that saving another $100-$150 and having a rod built FOR YOU is the way to go. Flechero is building me a rod and you wouldn't believe all the factors that go into choosing components and styles to match my preferences. Now, mind you, I am getting a rod that is "tailor" made for me personally. many builders, if not most, don't like to build for people "on-line" only because they feel they cannot provide the customer with the level of "custom fitting" that they are capable of delivering if you are there in person. (Reelmech, flechero, etc). These are the kinds of builders you want to work with. I really have no way of being there for the fit but I know even at that, I will have a rod that is very suited for what I do compared to trying to match somthing off a rack. And last but not least, support an artisan!!!! A hand-made rod, in my opinion, already comes with mojo, or karma, built right into it, from the hands of the builder. These guys that build these things usually began out of a passion for the art and sport. I cherish my time on the water enough to use the very best, made by the very best. Support a builder, support the arts, support a fellow fisherman.
  22. Now that's a day to be thankful for, food, family, friends ..........and FISH!
  23. Awesome, Awesome,Awesome. RW hadn't had any hands on experience posting pics. Catching fish to put in them is no problem, posting them was another issue. lol Looks like you got it down now partner!!
