  1. OT-I'm right there with you Rolo, I have a 15 ft whaler CC inboard jet. Trick little boat. The smaller CC's are such a blast to drive, like an amusement ride, and deadly manueverable when the fish are moving, less invasive to a school that is "UP".
  2. Cool! 8-) What kind of boat are you in?
  3. ok, we broke the 6900 member mark, time to start sending me pics and video. For any new members who are not familiar with the process, we make a video with pics and video clips of all the new members since the 6000 mark. Even if you've been in one of the previous ones, it's ok to send me another pic. If we don't get enough response from the new folks, I will begin to add some of you more senior members. We started this when we hit the 5000 member mark. These are the current member videos to give you an idea how they work. Members video #1 Members video #2
  4. I think it's just a time thing. A few years of making decisions should build that confidence. Do you fish with more confidence now than 8 months ago? Are there certain, baits or techniques that you "discovered' this year that didn't let you down? Fishing them next year, you'll have more confidence than when the guy 1st handed you one. If you find the same success, the confidence in that bait has doubled from the day you 1st touched one. Am I making any sense?
  5. No worries buddy, they make flannel lined skirts for the girls who start complaining around 30 degrees, lol
  6. I'll be at Killington a few days, I pretty much don't leave the Outer Limits/Devil's fiddle area when I'm there, do you ski bumps by any chance? Ludlow,...oh man,...memories, I got a couple good Okemo stories if we ever meet up,lol. I used to live in Mendon.
  7. Happy T-Day!!
  8. We had a shack like that at my great uncles pond. Rickety old thing with benches for putting your ice skates on and a wood stove for heat and to boil the water for hot chocolate. This particular pond was very wind ridden and never froze smooth, always ripply. Hard to believe I still have teeth after skating there for so many years in my youth. You brought back a very cool memory, thanks! Pond skating

Thanks Dave, same to you and yours!
  10. Ever been within a mile of a sugar shack when they are boiling down the raw sap for maple syrup? Awwww maaaan,.....lip smackin' One of the numerous scents of fall. Dead leaves, oak burning in a fireplace or woodstove permeates the neighborhoods....
  11. There ya go. when I was in Breckenridge,Co., they have a winter festival and they drag you behind a horse with rope and skis, somthing I would expect to see in Texas with snow on the ground! For some reason, I'm also picturing the driver firing a colt revolver into the air and screaming somthing about the local football team that ends in "till the day I die"!!
  12. NORTHERN ENLIGHTENMENT
  13. I can see how health issues could certainly factor in, don't get me wrong. Age also, "getting around" can be treacherous at times, But as long as I am healthy and hearty, I'm stayin' put! Everybody loves where they are from I guess. I think we all need to step back and realize we are debating over who has a better world when we both have people in our own neighborhoods that won't be having a thanksgiving dinner, as I know it, today. But still,...on a lighter note,....North is better. lol
  14. Yup, us too!! eric (Dirk) and I first met on the preload shift at UPS (4a-8a) We worked that shift for 7 yrs and our body clocks never re-set. I can be up and feel fully rested from 2am on. I don't sleep past 6am. That part can be a drag on mornings when conditions are right to just lounge in the sack all morning. If you go back and watch some of our videos from this summer, many of our larger fish were from that 3am-sunrise period. Of course, that's because that time frame is when we are there, lol. Alot of footage was missed because of the darkness, somthing that will be addressed before spring. But back to your point. How much does a shrink cost for 15 yrs of therapy, 4 times a week because my jon boat was only $450. I feel fortunate to be appreciative of the fact that I am able to harness the sunrise and all that it brings. It is also a perfect time for some quality father son or best friend moments. Getting a kid in the boat when his eyes are 1/2 shut is somthing neither of you will forget. Also a great time to share with your girlie if she's down with that. Get them to go once and they'll want to do it again but take special care to only try this with kids or the womenfolk when it's going to be a beautiful day. Wet Sleet and darkness can be a drag for a newbie, lol.
  15. Happy Turkeyday to you too Jim! At BR, we pride ourselves on the ease of which knowledge is shared. This is just one of the few key elements that make this board different from all others, glad you found what you needed!
  16. When I read this, I get the feeling that either you are all good friends, or sportsmanship is just a natural way of doing things over there. Great report, congrats to all the winners, especially our own homeboy, Vyron. Cybasser, you'll get 'em next time!! Thanks for sharing guys, well done and keep up the quality sportsmanship!!!!!!!!!
  17. Well,...it's like this. A few of the southern folk seem to think life is over up north. Not the case. Let me start by saying I have traveled to 27 countries, lived in Bermuda, lake Tahoe, Vt,RI, and Hawaii. I would chose to live in New England personally, hands down, but I had to travel around the world first to realize this. WHY? simple. 4 seasons. Not 2, or even 1, but 4. Raul, kieth, etc,..you guys make comments like you are rubbing it in that winter is here. For some reason, you think we are unfortunate. Not the case There is nothing more beautiful than waking up to a snow covered world, except perhaps getting out in it and taking as walk. especially if you are a kid and the radio is saying "no school for Providence, warwick, cranston, newport," etc etc etc, I pity anyone who never experienced a "snow day". This goes for the adults too. Garages get their wood stoves fired up, ski-mobiles and quads are everywhere and neighbors meet up for hot chocolate, fresh pies, and often times, a few beers around the wood stove with a bottle of schnapps making it's way around. Sledding---it's not just for kids snow-ball fights snow mobiling hay rides and sleigh rides skitchin' is a blast although not recommended skiing shoveling out an elderly neighbor,...always rewarding and usually good for a shot of whisky after and a pie the next day. the list of fun things to do in the winter could go on and on, only limited by your imagination. 1 season,...would drive me nuts. I would surely be burnt on fishing. Winter gives me the break I personaly need. When spring rolls around again, we get a new excitement that you guys miss out on, same goes for the first snow. Xmas in a warm place would seem totally foreign to me. Winter in New England, It's a great thing. Don't be misled by the haters, jealousy can have people commenting on things they have no clue about. Keith, you are a photographer, winter was made for black and white photos. You'll never get pics like this in Fla., or Mexico.
  18. Nope, no video, y'all will just have to go next time to find out what goes on down there when we roll into town. Sorry. J/K
  19. CIGAR---Nboucher, my self and maybe Dirk are flying out of Prov. Come down the night before and travel with us!
  20. See ya trout, nice knowing you. PS- I never even had a clue that you were an alien, here to abduct people.
  21. WOW, THAT INCOMING RIP IS BEAUTIFUL!!! Tell your buddy they go down easier HEAD FIRST! As for us poor northerners,.........I'm going to have to start a new thread on that one.
