  1. LMAO!!! One of muddy's funnies finally came back and hit him square in the face,....literally1 lol Norman, Do you remember on the way to the lake, the place where the guy sells the goat cheese? Small farm with sign out on the road? He has a hommade planing mill, want me to talk to him? He works the night shift a UPS.
  2. Yea, Please refrain from giving advice that could get people fired or arrested, Geez. Doing somthing like that may be somthing you see as "OK" but I'd rather not lead the youth here to thinking that's how honest adults do things. Kids,...it's NOT. I use my waders once a year. Just a $39- pair of rubber booted waders, I use them on opening day so I can get in the water and untangle the kids all morning. I just layer up underneath and I'm fine. Oh yea,...buy them a size or 2 too big to accomodate the clothing involved with using them in colder water.
  3. I bottom out with Rolo, lol. 300-320 ft. about 40-60 ft off the bottom. NW corner, Stellwagen Bank, Cape Cod Bay. Bluefin but again, like Rolo, noone turns their head at Mako or Thresher steaks. I rarely fish deeper than 30 ft in freshwater.
  4. Just so everyones knows, a good, laminated map is a must. Don't bother trying to read it to find fish, every inch looks like it deserves a cast, no, the map is needed to get your butt around. The boat lanes, etc are all there and not having one would be like trying to get around Belgium without a map. For the record. "Tom Tom, where is the best cove" and "Tom Tom where are the big fish" or "Tom Tom, how do we get back" just won't work...................... unless you are on Mr. Redingtons boat! lol
  5. I want to get at least 5 new CAST events on the calendar.
  6. Ronnie, any family still down there? Nearby?
  7. like spinning gear and clear water : Seriously though, flechero is right, I can't let one negative experience deter me, that's why I'm going back, besides,......who could hate Texas? Honestly, Texas has brought a few friends in the last year that I'll keep for many years to come. The Lone Star has given me far more good than bad. And MORE TO COME!!! WooHoo!!!!
  8. My pleasure everyone! 8-) Glad Y'all liked it.
  9. Many of the guests are actually "crawlers" from search engines
  10. Brandon- when I was messing with my folders I accidently deleted a few files. Upon looking at them, I didn't think any of the member pics were lost, I was wrong. I apologize. Anyone else submit a pic that didn't get in? I'll make it up to you at the 8000 mark. Sorry again.
  11. Well, you'll notice that with each one of these, there is more and more video. After Xmas, I suppose many more of us will be on board the video bandwagon! Welcome Aboard to all the new members! ENJOY!! MEMBERS VIDEO III F9 for full screen and crank it up!
  12. Welcome Mike. That video I sent you is old news. We ended up doing 25 videos for '06 and with each one, our knowledge of movie maker got a little better too. Big fish came in pretty consistently this year, when you're ready, let's give this "little fish" misnomer a kick in the butt New England style. If you have time, surf thru these and let me know if any of that footage is somthing you would want to use. It's all virgin to the public. They were made for and viewed exclusively by the members of BR and Hawgz only. LBH VIDEOS Again, great show, fantastic grass roots format,...KEEP IT REAL!!
  13. The video is done, I have a PM in to member #7000 and will give till tomorrow morning for a reply. If none, I will modify it and launch it "as is". Timmy--LBH VIDEOS These are titled Members video I and II
  14. Bigger fish chasing shad in the coves, classic fall pattern. You guys stumbled on some gold. As long as temps remain where they are, that bite should duplicate itself again tomorrow.
  15. In short, we had him reserved. He is one of the best sight fisherman around. When the time came, sight fishing was a wash. Ritchie insisted on sight fishing in the 1 cove it was do-able in which required us to call the rental people and try and get them to us to tow our boat to another place and put in over there (would have taken a minumum of 1/2 the time we had him booked for). I said I would much rather he just take us fishing deeper for some of the fish the other guides are putting people on as very few people were catching this particular week, without assistance. He wouldn't. I was floored. It's just not common in the guide industry for the guide to refuse the request of the customer. I didn't go. Was a huge downer, worst aspect of the whole trip by far. I was disgusted. Ritchie White came on the board and after a huge discussion, a written apology was posted and we called it a truce. So with that said, I'll end this here.
  16. I'm thinking nobody will be bringing me a Yamamoto hat. lol
  17. I know we will have CAST stuff but I'm not sure how much BR stuff Glenn has left.
  18. 4bizz, contain yourself,..............but they get much bigger than that!!
  19. Yes, that is called the "skeg" and is used as protection for the prop. Don't use it in skinny water and you should be fine. There might be an issue of balance with the weight of the skeg missing but if not, you're good to go. Heck, for $10, you're good to go anyway, just bring an oar.
  20. Welcome to the forum!
  21. what is "Borg like"? I saw on espn this saturday that some states have an agreement with B.A.S.S. to record all catches from tourny's. They said the info they were collecting (state DNR) from the anglers was quality, precious info that would normally cost the state thousands of dollars to collect otherwise thru electro-shock sampling, etc. Good stuff, we should all push our local clubs to participate in such a program. Good things start at grass roots levels. Be heard at your next meeting, YOU can make a difference!
  22. Great report, fishing w/ dads is priceless, especially at your age. That's the age my dad and I finally started getting along after a looooong adolescence, lol. No pics of DAD???? You camera hog.
  23. he had to order those colors custom from Ranger and personally, although I would never have chosen this color scheme myself, I have grown to appreciate why Glenn chose it. It's nature-y Very easy on the eyes Helps things stand out from each other by having all earth tones but drastically different ones. Hale- Many good suggestions here but as Fluke said, it's a time and money thing. We have thrown around some ideas together that would surely blow the members away but Glenn quickly explains what would be involved and as muddy would say,...fuggetaboutit,lol. Glenn has always been a bit of a control freak. I mean that as a compliment. His strict control over what his vision for the site is, is what has brought us to be the biggest and best ,most active web community in the bass fishing world. I'm not sure if accepting donations would make him feel like he would be giving up some of the control. This has always been a 1 man deal. As mods, we are merely the helpers. We give out input and it is readily recieved and listened to wholeheartedly, just as your suggestions are. After that, it's Glenns ball and speaking on behalf of his team, we are just fine with that. Many have noticed that the forum does change every now and again. When Glenn decides to make a change, it can be months before it can actually be initiated for a number of reasons beyond our control. All I can say, in short, is this..... Glenn makes this place the best place to be. He cares and is always listening to all ideas. He has a motto that is a very good one and it goes like this. "Promise very little and over-deliver" When the time comes for change, I can assure you, Glenn has taken all suggestions into account but will ultimately make the decision to do whatever needs being done to complete his vision. We all need to trust in that vision, it hasn't been wrong yet. ALL SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED, BUT PLEASE DON'T BE OFFENDED IF IT ISN"T OPENLY DISCUSSED OR IMPLEMENTED. Know, however, that you are being heard. Thanks guys
  24. It's done. Just waiting on #7000 I'll add here that it's a pretty good one. Compared to the 1st members video, it's plain to see that video is catching on like wildfire. Each members video, I get more and more guys submitting clips. We are starting a revolution!!!
