The crawdad IS a plastic boat. I'm not sure how to "plastic weld" but I would imagine it is similar to the melting of a stick of "material" into the crack. A. I fulheartedly agree that for the money, you could get a small jon w/ motor (new) or a suprememly decked out sweetie of a jon (used) if you are willing to hunt a little. B. I am very friendly with a couple on our lake that owns one of these. They are extremely stable and not as top heavy as they appear. Theirs also has a trolling motor on it. C.He does regret the purchase on the pure basis of NO ROOM! He is limited to 1 rod and a small tackle bag that he wears around his waist. Pain in the butt. d. Landing a big fish is risky.

Wow, I went to that link and took a look at some of the visual ID's and I bet many see some of these weeds and assume it's hydrilla because many look very similar. I am going to actually grab a bunch of pics tomorrow of weed samples from my lake so I can come home and compare to the actual pics. I never realized how many different weeds look like hydrilla.

You can convert the raw files by downloading some free software. or you can load it in moviemaker and when you save it, it will be in .wmv format.

Enig- I'm working off a digi cam with 2 cards, a 128 and a 64!! Doesn't take much. Darrin (HawgHunter) bought a digital camcorder before we went to Fork and man that thing is sweet but I also take a ton of stills so I still use this set-up. Works so far. I just want to get a polarized filter ($35ish) and a 1 gig card.

Hints: -have the camera convieniently placed in boat for both anglers to get at quickly. -both have understanding of features that will be used and how to set it in case it gets altered (power,zoom,slection switch-vid/still,etc) -REMEMBER to use it -any video is good video, throw away what you don't want but film everything!! For example if you always wait for your partner to let you know if it's "big enough" to warrent filming, you'll never make a good video.(unless you catch a ton of hawgs!) Plus, alot of the "fill" is the good stuff. You often catch a joke or a blunder or a blooper when you film all the fish you can. -trips to the lake, the car ride, launching boat, going 70mph on the water,.... all good fill

Depends where and how it is hooked. With some luck she'll be fine. Sounds like you need a pair of waders or a belly boat.

Geez, tough one. I would say either deal with it, hang back or sabotage the other guys,lol. If there is no where to turn out or if it's too dangerous with boats passing you at 70, I would hug the outside of the pack and keep an eye over your shoulder. By running the outside, you can always look and turn in-to the wake, if you run inside and turn out, you may not have room. Always aim your boat where there is more open water in a questionable instance. Careful though, sounds like a dangerous way to start the day, It may just be wiser to let them run ahead of you.

If you were going to go nuts on the boat with decking, etc, I would suggest building one right in but if not, I would go with the cooler. With a boat that big, you could go with an igloo marine series 128 gallon or even the 160. This way, you can remove it if you plan to use the boat for hunting or anything else where room is important.

I was wondering if there are any other folks out there that take video footage of their fishing trips? HawHunter and I started last year and have put some quality memories on film already. Anyway, I was wondering if other BassResourcers have any video footage. I would like to make a compilation of BassResource.com-ers doing their thing and wanted to know if anyone had personal footage they would like to send me a copy of to add to the video. Anyone?

Nothing is in stone though, this is fishing. I've had more than my fair share of 2am topwater bites. Larger fish will roam the edges of reed beds, partially submerged islands,etc in the depth of night. Larger fish find safety in travelling during the low light, low pressure hours and if your lure is in the right place,....at the right time,...........

There was a store up here that carried a few different style 12's for 1 or 2 years (may have been leftovers). They looked like they had EXTREMELY low gunnels and were priced higher than the lowes and g3's. I think that's why they sat there. Never knew anyone that owned one.

If you want to stick with the jig (confidence), try using a weedless finess jig in 1/8 oz. Seems light but with trailer, etc, you still get a full-bodied profile. TRy a terminator finesse jig or a nichols mango jig. Heads are designed to come through weeds easily. I have yet to recieve the nichols jigs I ordered last week but ones I know work for sure are the terminator, Rocky ledge, and booyah (3/16, not the baby bug) Below is a pic of a nichols mango jig-notice the conehead shape for coming through the weeds.
