  1. I'd like to look at this as using Brian as a representative for all our BR folk who are currently, previously, and soon to be, enlisted in the U.S. Service. Brian has paid his dues and returned (as many of our veteran/Br members). He has provided us with the perfect mojo trinket and now we show our thanks to him by packing it and giving it back but please understand, and perhaps this is my fault for not explaining it thoroughly, that returning the appreciation to Brian is the mojo's main goal but I would like to also know that when you fish to fill the mojo, you are also fishing to keep everyone aware of our boys who are away from home, fighting. I know if I were laying in the sand right now, under fire, I would be struggling with the fact that back at home, everything is normal. That's a tough one to handle mentally I think. I would wonder if I was appreciated, if it's worth it, etc I also know for a fact that a few members are there and cannot make contact with such things as BR. (Some can, like SFC-Al, but others cannot) Any time for correspondence is used to communicate with family, etc. I'd like them to see this someday, upon their return and know that we were here, .....talking about them. Thinking about them. So,...with Brian as their rep,....let's fill this thing up for the boys. While you fight, we fish. We appreciate that, so while you fight, know that we are thinking of you,...and often.

  3. I'm 40 and from RI, but I smoke. Respectfully of course, I try not to smoke upwind from a non smoker, never burned a boat and never, ever, left a butt anywhere other than in the can on shore at the end of the trip. But a smoker nontheless. I agree with the booze, you'll need something much stronger to put up with me,lol.
  4. I fished this whole week, same conditions here in RI. After 11-12:00, you couldn't buy a fish in the usual haunts. Fish finally started coming when I took my head out of my butt, lol. High sun, aim for shaded areas (will often be shallow) and even better, DEEP GRASS With the shiner, use a fishfinder rig to ensure it gets deep and stays there.
  5. A discount store near me (Ocean State Job Lot) has them for $4. I bought a few last yr, lasted as long as the $10 ones. ps-Batts are like $7 (for 2), cheaper to buy a whole new one.
  6. Corey,...you on high ground?
  7. That and the outstanding extradition warrant..... ;D
  8. but it ain't broken .................................................Still want me to come??
  9. Please refer to the Senko FAQ's located as a "sticky" in this section.
  10. They're called "Liberty Spikes" and they are up in support of our troops. Those guys didn't get to fish an 80 degree, clear sunshine, perfect day today. Thanks to them and those that came before them,.....I did.
  11. Ever wish you could remember all the funny or cool stuff you've talked about with your buddy on the boat? That's one of the benefits of always having the camera in your hand, is that you actually record many of those times. You know you could never explain it and have it be as funny as the first time but when you capture it on the camera, you have it forever. This is the first episode of hopefully many, providing Dirk doesn't run out of interesting things to say, lol. Enjoy The Dirk Files-Episode1 (humor)
  12. Howdy Joe! Remember me from FSF? Did you ever start building those baits a little smaller, for Largemouth? welcome Aboard!!
  13. Kidding? Shoot, post hurricane,....easiest fishing ever. Just bend over and pick them up off the lawn, lol. Way to hit them Matt, I think I'll be out tomorrow, waiting to hear from Capt. Bob.
  14. The little guy has strong genes, he'll take it like a trooper. Good luck to him and peace for the family through these stressing times. God Bless, good luck.
  15. I was hoping to experience this when I visited. I guess it's just certain times of year. Reminds me of Vermont during maple syrup season, the sugar houses cooking off the maple smells awesome in your house if you live downwind. (I did) The funny thing about reading this is that I have a dozen heads of Garlic roasting right this very minute (working on a new roasted garlic/rosemary puree for sauces). My house smells like heaven right now
  16. ...cause you just never know,...where the mojo will go. Great job guys
  17. Just chatted with HawgHunter and he has been evacuated. They are staying in his camper at the place he works. His house is on the OUTSKIRTS of the 500 yr flood plan, and they believe the basement is flooded already! Please keep all these folks in our prayers as many do not have flood insurance and many will be hard pressed to recover from this. Hoping all our Iowan and other flood affected members are all safe first and foremost. Hang tough guys, you're in our prayers
  18. If I'm not mistaken, the above pic was taken on my boat, lol. Fishing in the snow is the norm in New England, as long as the lake isn't solid. Even if it's 1/2 solid, we will go if the boat will cut through it. The worse the weather, the more we want to be out there. (winds over 25 mph being the exception)
  19. Man, that a feed bag and a half!! That place must employ like 5 chefs and a cardiac surgeon!
  20. YEEE HA!!! Congrats guys!!!! Glad everyone is healthy Rest up mom, great job!!
