  1. Bob, open invitation,...come fish my lake for a week and think out loud. I have a fully stocked bar and I'm a heck of a cook. ;D Pleeeeease? ;D I fish a fantastic lake but it has the potential to hold the record with a few tweaks. I just don't have the education to know what those tweaks are, lol.
  2. There are folks out there who have come here with hopes of learning more about the business side of angling. This section gives a good idea of what it's like, from lots of different perspectives, sponsored anglers, manufacturers, mom and pops, etc. We have had kids take this info and use it to their advantage, senko77 is a prime example. He's going places and it's because he learned how to do it right and of course,...the kid can fish,. But like Brian suggests, and as Senko77 is now finding out,....when you are at the level or have the exposure, to warrant being "marketable",....they'll find you! But when they come,....they will want to see a resume and rest assured, if it's passed through this section, it's one they will at least read. Bri- I personally do care who's name I wear. When I skied, I only had certain choices (equipment, accessories,,,) but we also had corporate sponsors like Visa, UPS, Kodak, etc. that we all had to work with. Having the freedom to choose, as I really don't look for sponsors, is a nice change. The relationships I have now are ones I believe in 100%, but I am not recruiting sponsors out of need so it's different. We just fit each others criteria naturally and it makes for a much more relaxed scenario. Otherwise, it would not be worth it for me.

  4. Color is far more important to the fisherman than the fish I'll throw anything natural, any time..... and fish it with the same confidence as the previous (natural) color.
  5. Yes,...It eventually peeled. Even before that I hated it though. The drag, the weight,....
  6. Do some comparison shopping on ebay, also, google the models I love that old stuff, I have decorated my whole kitchen in early Americana-fishing
  7. Memory?? Braid? It is very highly unlikely that your mono is grooving the line guides. (eyelids are for sleeping ) You need to look elsewhere for your cause.
  8. To-May-to,...To-MAH-to, Ta-Tip grooves,...all the same thing, lol Have you ever used braid with these rods?
  9. You're not always going to get answers you like,..ESPECIALLY in this section. This is where we lay it out the way it is. Realize that you represent RC everywhere! You should watch your spelling and grammar as Preach suggests. If I sponsored you, you would get an email from me telling you to spell check before posting another word with my company name in it. Your grammar is all over the map. Sponsorship can work 2 ways remember that. If I were into RC stuff, I would probably AVOID your sponsors products as he seems to give very little stock into what he expects from folks who represent his company. Something to ponder,...if fishing were "just advertisement",...I'd have a lot more time on my hands. Fulfilling contractual obligations for sponsorships takes a lot more than you seem willing to realize. Evidently, it's not the same in the RC world, but in the retail world of fishing,...it's not just free stuff in exchange for spreading the word at a weekend tourny. These are not harsh answers, these are reality, and that is what this section is all about.
  10. No,..not THE reservoir!! lol There are a few "secondaries" up there. yes, Wallum is a good one.
  11. That's not even a real fish, ahaaaa, he fooled you all!!! You can see, plain as day that it is a talking wall mount,.....look, you can even see the pull chord hanging from the belly!! ;D ;D Another beauty Fish,.....and, of course, a flawless pic
  12. When i first got into car audio, I joined a big board and started educating myself. A few yrs later, I could do fiberglass fabrication with motorized formats, all wiring, etc. It was a great tool, the forum board. Nowadays, a decade later, there is even more info out there. The head unit I am using in my new system isn't even here yet but I have copies online of installation manuals, owner's manuals, tips and precautions specifically for an 05 4 runner and this particular head unit, all kinds of great stuff. I even found some video tutorials on how to operate the unit with actual owners giving tips. Awesome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXhJJ43lu10&feature=related
  13. the one with a 10+ on it
  14. Man,...stop raising the bar,...you're makin it tough to compete hoss ;D
  15. rabbit or maribou leech, 4" Tough to cast but worth it. Poppers too
  16. First one I saw I thought might be an anomalie, then the next one had a fish on it. I was brought back immediately to the day we actually got to know each other and hang for the day. That was sooooooome fun son. Here we go again,.....roll film!!
  17. Geez Matt, you're making me feel like a quitter,lol....at age 25, I was "too old" to go another 4 yrs against the 17,18 and 19 yr olds.... : :-/ ;D My point is,...I was an innovative skier for my time. I designed tricks and new aerial maneuvers that were copied, modified and brought to another level. We all did in that era. We pushed and "topped" each other often. It was common place to go to a comp and someone just pulled a sick triple,...2 of his 3 trick selections in this triple may have been created by yourself,...a few weeks earlier. We learned to "save" our special stuff for big point events and protected are newer stuff like the Cali guys protect their water,...lots of secrecy ensued. For anyone who cares....the "Tail Pipe" was all me. (Squaw Valley-Granite Chief-'89 filming with Greg Stump) My legacy, lol We were the best of the best and being a former skater as well, I can firmly say that we operated at a degree of difficulty that is NOWHERE NEAR what these kids do on a street course never mind in a 1/2 pipe or other related larger scale layout. Anyone experienced in aerial acrobatics knows,....these kids deserve Olympic status. WITHOUT QUESTION
  18. First, they met a guy at the Tamale festival in Cali, asked if he was into fishing,...his reply was that he tried it when he was a kid but it's boring and just takes too long to catch a fish. So they put him on a 300 lb Blue Marlin in a 22' boat with a Penn 50 and stand up gear, lol. THAT'LL SHOW YA!! (They also put him on some nice Sailfish after) The guy is a changed person,. toughest , most exciting thing he has ever done. Ain't fishing AWESOME?? Then,...they switch to Byron, fishing with a young kid who is ribbing Byron pretty good, LOTS OF LAUGHS and it made you jealous to not be there and be a part of it. Then the kid says My dads dad liked to fish a lot,.....some in the family said he even had a kind of addiction,......I got that too, I can't stop going, I think about it all the time.....----then he hooks up. The kid is like 10 Ain't fishing AWESOME??
  19. DO NOT USE BEDLINER!!! Terrible results, terrible drag coefficient, terrible weight added I too am waiting to see the results of a few of these Rustoleum jobs. We are stripped to shiny metal and waiting to see which route, the cost effective Rustoleum with unproven durability (chipping, etc) or the big $$ Interlux (which still eventually chips,....let's remember,...it's paint on a jon boat, they are made to be beat up) we will go with. ANYONE WITH RUSTOLEUM---Please report in with your results and provide pics if possible. THANKS!
  20. TO ALL RUSTOLEM USERS__ You happy with the results? PICS PLEASE Thanks for keeping up on the reports GB
  21. Everyone,...watch closely at the avatar, gravity, inertia and the slightest direction from an airborne toe,...make that board flip, twist and re-align in a split second,...all while airborne and all before the tough part,....landing. Sure,..I think curling DESERVES to be an Olympic sport,...these kids got nothing on those curlers : BMX and Skate should be Olympic events!!!! WHAT'S THE HOLD UP??? (no, I do not skate,...did for yrs when I was young, was part of my transition from hockey skates to skis.) As a Freestyle skier in a slalom based world,...with a mohawk,...I DID however deal with the same resentment, jealousy and irritated public opinion of those considered "radical" But skater or not, irritated or not,....you cannot deny talent such as this.
  22. I use both for both, following the principle Glenn explained. 1/4oz and less=spinning 1/4oz + = b/c
  23. They say it is because of our cell phone waves messing with them. Not sure how or why but I recall hearing this theory before. Many don't realize how crucial the honey bee is to agriculture.
  24. If you're a bed fisherman, it just got alot better!!
