  1. What about guys like me that have the trolling motor on the back? Put a rudder on the front?
  2. I've got one of those battery box power centers from Sea Sense, and I had a question. Do you guys have your wiring hookups under the lid, or do you have them on the outside? What's the preferred way to do it? Thanks.
  3. Thanks. I don't hunt, but it almost makes sense now. The difference is I don't "harvest" ANY fish. I release everything.
  4. I use a 40 lb. thrust on my 16' flat bottom, and that's what I recommend.
  5. I just like to get out, relax, catch some fish and not drown.
  6. Is it OK to store the Bass Raider vertically for 1-2 weeks? If so, would it be better to have it rest on it's side or one of the ends? Thanks.
  7. Is it necessary to unplug LED trailer lights when backing in the water? Thanks.
  8. You're better off trying to find a used boat, whether it's a jon boat or V-hull. You could probably find a used jon boat and trailer for less than a "new" jon boat only. I tried a 1436 flat jon, and it was pretty tippy. Check out your local papers and Craigslist. A 1442 jon would be nice, and a 1448 would be great, very stable.
  9. Thanks, but I was asking kayakfisher.
  10. Thanks. It seems unbelievable though. So if I had a farm in the "middle of nowhere" with my own pond, I cannot go out and "catch and release" bass before opening day? That can't be right. Or as my original question asks, fishing someone else's pond, with their permission, before opening day(catch and release only)?
  11. Howdy. What's you favorite bass lake in our area?
  12. I've used closed end spinnerbaits with snap swivels, but they don't seem to run vertical. They come in sideways and what not. I don't have this problem when I tie directly to the spinnerbait.
  13. Where is Osceola? I'm in Oconomowoc.
  14. Roger, these youngins have to learn for themselves. If you buy from Gander Mtn. at least they have a 90 day return policy.
  15. You may find that a bait cast reel is more trouble than it's worth, and that you should stick with a spinning reel. I see no reason to use a bait cast reel when bass fishing. I used bait cast reels when musky fishing, due to the heavier lines used, and I don't miss them one bit.
  16. Is there a specific reason you want to go to a baitcast reel?
  17. Thanks guys. I thought you needed special scissors to cut these lines. It still sounds like too much trouble though, if you frequently re-tie. I'll stick to my mono and my teeth. I do use braided line on my heavier rod that I use for northerns, but I keep a swivel on there.
  18. Do you guys use braided line on your reels when you re-tie a lot(change lures often)? If so, what do you use to cut the line? I'm asking because I don't use a swivel, I direct tie to the lure. Thanks.
  19. I just picked up the Trion GX7 at Gander Mtn. and it seems pretty nice. They have the Daiwa Exceler on sale for $39, but they're all out of them, and won't be getting any more. Thanks guys.
  20. I locked my keys in the car when I got to the lake. Then while using my rod to try to pick up the keys from the car's floor, I ran the hook into my thumb. This is all before I even wet a line.
  21. I was just going to ask about the Okuma Avenger. I saw the AV40 at a local sports store today, and it seemed pretty nice. How do you guys think it compares to the Pfluger Trion GX7? They're the same price. Thanks.
  22. That can't be an average price though. You got a great deal on that.
