  1. I have a sit on top kayak, with no access on back side to use bolts and nuts. I want to add a couple deck loops(pad eyes) and mount a cleat, to tie off my anchor line when I use my anchor trolley. Will screws be OK? If so, should I add anything to the screw threads when I mount the cleat? A local kayak shop told me that screws won't hold well enough for the anchor line cleat because the kayak's plastic material is too thin. They said I need to use well nuts. What do you guys think? Thanks.
  2. It doesn't include seats or the original seat frames?
  3. If you don't do it yourself, it's going to be very expensive.
  4. My 10' kayak fits in my mini van, and I'm still able to close the taillgate.
  5. Good luck. I don't know why you're asking then.
  6. I'm no engineer, but we're talking about a plastic boat here. If we were talking about bracing a material that doesn't flex, that would be different. I wouldn't exceed what Pelican says as far as gas outboard limit.
  7. Who makes the Water Scamp? I never heard of it.
  8. Thanks. Do these require drilling holes in the van? Because I don't want to do that.
  9. I need some ideas on how to hang my fishing rods in my van. The van is a 2003 Chrysler mini van, and has 2 sets of plastic brackets for hanging. One set is near the rear of van, and one set is near the center of van. What have you guys done? Some pics would be great, and where you picked up any parts, etc. And of course, the cheaper the better. Thanks.
  10. I use a Group 24 battery(Everstart from Walmart) and a 30 lb. Endura. That will be fine with your 40 lb. Endura also.
  11. GREAT deal. Is that a Harbor Freight trailer? It's weird seeing a trailer without a tongue.
  12. You will probably need a bill of sale in addition to the boat registration to transfer ownership to you. Just call your state's Fish And Game Dept. or whatever they call it there.
  13. Nice job timma. If I used something like that with my 8' Bass Raider, I wouldn't be able to shut the tailgate of my mini van. With just the boat, I can shut the tailgate, which is nice.
  14. Any chance you can post a picture of the dolly?
  15. A rental boat that doesn't include an anchor and rope is riciculous.
  16. UPDATE: After reading the installation instructions online for the Fulton swing hinge, I don't think it's going to work. It says that my trailer tongue has to be at least .188" thick(3/16") and mine is not that thick. It's less than 1/8" thick. I can't get a hold of them until Monday. Any thoughts? It looks like I'll have to sleeve it after all. If I sleeve it, my first choice would be to do it on the front of tongue. That way I wouldn't have to get the boat off the trailer. But the problem is I would only have about a 13" overlap on each side of my splice. Does 13" sound like it would be enough overlap? I'm going sleeve it on the outside with 3/16" thick steel tubing, and I'm extending it 2 feet. Thanks
  17. Are there certain types of lines it should not be used on?
  18. Thanks. I'll look at Gander Mtn.
  19. Where do you guys buy the KVD?
  20. Thanks. I'm going to have to try it. Any particular brand to look for? Is it available at Walmart?
  21. Does anyone use this stuff? What does it do?
  22. Thanks Robert. I finally decided I'm going to install the Fulton swing hitch, and add on 2 feet. I just need to wait for it to arrive from Amazon.
  23. What method did you use to extend it?
