  1. There's almost no other sound i'd like to hear when fishing, then a fish pulling drag and the noise of braid through the guides! I love that sound.
  2. Your not gonna ruin your drag washer's if their carbon material (think Revo's are). They will become sticky with regular non teflon based grease.
  3. Should be a teflon based grease. Cals is a great grease for this.
  4. Yes, Tackle trap for gear and pinion (comes in kit 27bucks) comes with metal top washer, carbontex from smooth drag 8 bucks (calcutta TE200). Ive heard you have to upgrade drag washers for the washers to fit? I already had the upgrade prior.
  5. for less than 40 bucks and fifteen minutes of your time, you can put core gears and carbontex washers in your 50e.
  6. LRF_Advanced_Spangler_Knot.pdf New knot to me that i have replaced the SD jam knot with. No need to moisten. I have only used it on Seaguar premier which is a harder leader material, and tested it on Izor co poly in garage with good results.
  7. I'm a big fan of Rage Tails also. My last two Saturdays My Friend and I only threw texas rigged Anacondas for the first time,I have not caught a bass under three pounds in those two day's. I also did really well for numbers prior, using the rage rig. I have thrown a Northstar jig with a rage craw for Notta though. Can't get the action right i guess, but not giving up. Thanks, Big-O
  8. Is anyone gonna watch tonight? I want NJ to atleast step it up a little bit.
  9. I don't like shallow water finesse fishing with braid when there is brush sticking out of the water. One of the lakes I fish the most, we call them stick ups. Braid will get caught on at least two stick ups every cast in the wind. Where copoly, fluro,or mono won't. I still love braid with a leader,or top shot in open or deep water.I will still continue to use braid for other ocean species.
  10. Love braid, but can't stand it when it's even breezy out, let alone windy.
  11. Cal's original grease on gears and drags, cheap walmart marine grease in non spool bearings, and oust for spool bearings.
  12. Until someone corrects me, I think PP and Tuf Line are the same line, made in the same factory. Both are made in the same town (different mailing addresses),handle the same, and breaking strengths are so close compared to any other two lines.
  13. Sounds like the kicker plate wore down. Isn't that a typical Revo problem that Abu won't admit?
  14. Whatever you do, don't pay attention to the King's till their holding the cup. Vancouver didn't know what hit them (yes, i know one of the brother's was hurt first 3 games). Now their gonna sweep the Blue's. Can't score on a goalie, you can't win. Quick will be MVP too.
  15. Yep, I got a bad 50e right out of the box. I didn't want to open it up for the first year, but had too. Now you can't pry that reel out of my hand. Do I hold a grudge against Shimano-Not At All!
  16. This was caught this week at Lake Perris Ca. 18.80 on cert. scale. Maybe WRB will have better details.. Congrads to the angler Dan Hoover!
  17. I like to run a leader an inch ahead of my reels line guide, to the top tip of my rod.
  18. I had the same problem last year fishing from shore. I just changed to 6", 7", robo and trick worms. Zoom mini lizards also produced bigger fish for me. I also changed to a bigger weight, and started bubba shotting,or power shotting into deeper water. I also put down the drop shot and started C-riggin, that also helped with better quality fish. Hope that helps...
  19. I caught a good one today on the fluke, just dead sticking it with a weighted hook, in 10 fow. I have also had good luck with it on the C-rig. Seems I have caught most of them on the initial fall off the C-rig.
  20. Don't be so hard on yourself over it. This is why there's many brands to choose from. I personally didn't like yo zuri in 12#. I have found a great copoly in Izorline. Works good for me, but I'm sure others will dislike it. To each his own...
  21. Just as a follow up. This was exactly my problem, it was grease not oil though. Thanks, BigMoneyGrip
  22. I got my 50e a few weeks ago. (yes, late to the party cause I wasn't convinced on the IPT.) I also ordered the tune up kit from BGF and put it in before the second time I used it.I'm just wondering how many brakes you guy's are having to put on. I seem to have to switch between 3 and 4. My E7 i can leave 2 pins on, and use any lure weight i want. The 50 seems finicky, or is it just me?
  23. I'm thinking of trying a 200G7 out for myself, with these mail in rebates. Does anybody know if I can add bearings in the handles of the G series?
  24. Just like the prolite, you can stick a toothpick into the centrifugal pin,pry it out and cut it off. I cut off two, on opposite sides of each other. Now only two pins are always on. Made a big improvement. Do This at your own risk....
