  1. All over one pic? Cool aid drinkers....
  2. Welcome Back! Thank You for all you guy's do.
  3. Hey Matt, I was wondering what your take is on Uni Butter? I know we dont hear much about it here on these forums, but I know you have.
  4. Yep Francho you just nailed my problem. I was using size 1 offset hooks thinking it gave the 4.5 robo worms better action or small creature baits. I think i'll step up to a bigger hook. Thanks again.
  5. Good advise Francho. It's not that i have broken my line yet,but the three fish out of five fish i have goten bite on texas rigged, I didn't get the hook in them cause i'm affraid to give a good hookset with 6# on this rod. With nose hooked worms, my land ratio is way better. So paying more attention to my drag setting and giving it a good rip will probably solve it.Thank You.
  6. Hooligan, it's the CRC-D66M model.I'm just saying I wish it was closer to a medium light for 6#.It's fine for exposed hooks, just i feel on a hookset with a texas rigged creature bait, I would break the 6# line with that rod. I'm just comparing this to another spinning rod I have that's a ML.Maybe I just need more than 4 outings with it, to get a better feel.
  7. I was wondering if you have any experience with the Crucial Drop Shot rod Francho? I got one a few weeks back and I think it's too much rod for 6#. It's rated 6-12, but using it on the low end of rating isn't working for me.The lake I fish is too clear for more than 6.
  8. I meant to say 90+ degrees. If the line is coming off on one side of the spool and the guide is on the other, isn't that over 90 degrees by the time it hits your first rod guide? But no I never said anything about bass.
  9. I don't think so...just short of a 3#. Throwing a rage craw texas rigged into a break wall.
  10. Try catching a nice fighting fish with the level wind 180* off to the line, and see what happens to the worm gears.I'll never use a reel with a line guide with line over 20#.Weak point (Conventional).Infact I have a couple penns that had line guides, and i took them out.
  11. Mine would be a 7+ day tuna trip out of San Diego. The captain and the deckhands are your guides,The food the Chefs cook are awesome.Plus all the fish you catch is yours to take home(within your limits for the day).
  12. I never got the stuff as a kid, but about 5 years ago Mountain biking i fell right into a bush like poisin oak. My buddy came over and said," do you know what your layin in"? A few days later i had it all over and it gave me flew like symptoms. That poisin\infection got into my blood system and I had to go on antibiotics.Wasn't fun missing work over it.

    Nice one!
  14. Obviously I'm still having trouble posting pics.
  15. I wrote this on Thursday, but couldn't figure out how to resize pics. What good is a report without pics? Started out at 6:10 first cast, dropshotting a robo.No bites for first hour and forty five minutes.Switched to a carolina rig with a mini zoom lizard. Caught two dinkers first and second casts. My first two fish ever on a carolina rig, they just nailed the lizard and loaded the rod for me(I should of clued in on this). No bites after throwing it for next 10 casts and having to retie a couple times inbetween.Moved to the top of the point a started dropshotting again.Caught a dinker and a nice size one.after a couple casts later i catch the big fish of the day 4.9(pic). I walk around the cove with one set up and no more worms in my pocket.Catch another dinker and lose my worm.I rememberd i had the lizards in my pocket and for the first time i start drop shotting something other than a robo. After a couple casts i land a 3+. I still dont have to retie, all intact.Next cast I hook into a bigger fish and lose it on the jump. Two guy's in a boat throwing swimbaits see me land the first and lose the second, start working their way towards me. I gave them the spot as I went back to get my stuff and my scale. I jog back, drop shotting the lizard a catch another big one, The hook is deep and takes me a while to get the hook out, so i didn't take a pic or scale it, but it had to be in the high 3's.Then the wind came up and the bite was gone.Off by 2:40. What i learned from that day, was the fish told me what they wanted. Even though the first two fish were dinkers, I should of clued in on what my first two bites were, and stuck with the lizard. All in all it was my best day i have ever had, with the biggist 5 in one day bass fishing. Went back again yesterday, and the bite was off.Caught 5, biggest being around 2 and a half. The weather was about 9 degrees cooler friday than thursday.
  16. I got two comb's for 99 bucks a few years back (year before recurve handle). These were the first baitcasters I self supertuned.Took the chance cause i really wanted the rods. These reels responded the best to my self supertuning out of the 4 different brands of reels I have done myself. Yes I'm not a pro at reel mechanics, but was surprised at the way they responded.
  17. Well It was a great day! Landed 7, 6 with the new rod, and lost two on the jump. Nothing of size though.
  18. Going fishing today, can't sleep and turn on world fishing network at 3:30 in the morning, to see Bill Siemantel fishing the lake your going to and giving all finesse tips. He was talkin to me I tell ya.. Plus I get to try out my new drop shot Crucial
  19. 1. 3/16 ounce booyah spinner bait 2. drop shot 4.5 inch roboworm 3. drop shot 6 inch roboworm
  20. I agree 100%, I wouldn't of pulled the trigger on a crucial if I didn't get it at 25% off. There is no way I'm a good enough fisherman to pay full price...
  21. So I called the store this morning and got more details on their store warranty. They use their own insurance company to back up the products they sell.So for the first year it would be 18 dollars, if I want two years it would be 29.97.Like I said, I paid 112.49 + tax for the rod at 25% off..I think i'll take my chances. I only live an hour away from Shimano Irvine...
  22. I pulled the trigger on a crucial rod today at 25% off. They offered me a 17 dollar in store warranty and I said no, cause of Shimano's lifetime warranty.I have only broken one rod in my 12 years fishing.I have 5 Clarus rods that i have never broken. Should I go back and pay the 17 bucks?
  23. Thank You both for your help. After looking through the lake in Google earth, most of the sandy flats and longer points are on the south end of the lake. I marked spots, and will just start there and see what happens..Thanks You
  24. Ok,going to a gin clear lake on Saturday with three brother in laws.We did really good on this lake 5 years back drop shotting. The last report from a guide is he's catching them in 5-10 feet of water(so full spawn mode). My question is,what side of the lake should i look for flats and points? Do I want to find the warmest water first? My thinking is west or north, I could be wrong, thats why I'm asking..We will be in a pontoon boat. Thanks for your help..
  25. I'm having a hard time with Dyneema not being available in the U.S. till 95. I took apart my neighbors 6\0 Penn that he hasn't used in 25+ years and it had Dyneema underneeth it,or was it kite string. Did he buy it in Europe?
