  1. Here is one.
  2. 2004 Chevy Silverado 3500, 4 door with the Duramax diesel. It will pull down a house
  3. It is really very basic materials. I would recommend getting pre formed wires, it is just a lot easier. All you need is skirts, blades, beads or spacer tubing, clevises, and probably the most important part to a good spinnerbait, the ball bearing swivel. Take one of your favorite spinnerbaits and you can order everything on it from Stamina. If you have a catalog from them, it should have a blade size chart in it somewhere. I know Barlow's does. Just match it up to your favorite blade sizes and you are all set.

There is serious market for machined molds. If you do custom work, even better. I am always looking for another mold source.
  5. This will happen from time to time. :-X Water is also a major factor with exploding cups. Make sure there is no water anywhere near the plastic. I also use Pyrex and Anchor. I have poured thousands of cups of plastic and have had only two crack on me. Luckily they did not explode. I know a couple of guys that were not so lucky and had to make a visit to the hospital. I always inspect the cups each time before I pour, just in case.
  6. I don't think the flat side matters at all. I would say that I fish about 90% flat sided hand pours, and my catch rates have gone up drastically since I started pouring years ago. More than likely it is a confidence thing, as is the case with using different brands of just about everything. A lot of the time, depending on the bait, a flat side will give the bait more action. About the only fully round bait I fish with is a stick bait like a Senko.

    Stamina, Barlow's, or Jann's Netcraft
  8. I would take a look at Stamina for tackle components. You can get some amazingly detailed heads for really cheap. These also come with quality hooks. They also have just about everthing else a guy needs to make anykind of spinnerbait imaginable.
  9. Mudhole.com has St.Croix handle kits. They should have what you are looking for.

If you use anise, like a lot of guys do, be prepared to sleep outside ;D That stuff stinks so bad, I don't care how well it works, I will not use it.

You can use any scent on the market, as long as it is not water based. This is very important because you will get an explosion. Lurecraft has really good scents, and I know a lot of guys that use Kickin Bass. I use a mixture of different scents. I add my scent when the plastic is liquid. I think most guys do it this way, but I know some add a few drops in the bag after they are packaged. It is really up to you.
  12. Go to either del-mart.com or bobstackleshack.com. These are the two best places to get quality aluminum molds. Del-mart has a kit which comes with everthing you need to get started.
  13. I know a lot a guys use a toothpick to drag the plastic into the small hard to fill areas of the mold. You need to get your plastic as hot as possible, this is probably the most important part of it. Good luck.
  14. There is a market for handpoured baits, but you do have to really work at it. If you plan on getting some store accounts of any size, then you are looking at a lot more money out of pocket for molds. Molds are the key to pouring a high quantity of baits in a reasonable time. This, in my opinion is very important. If you take forever to deliver a large order to a store, then you probably will not be doing business with them for long. Advertising is another out of pocket expense, that can really add up. If and when you do get the large orders, you can kiss your fishing time good bye as the previous post said. It does have it's down side, but it is also very gratifying to see your product on the shelves in a store or to hear people talking about your baits. Good luck.
  15. How about a little hint
  16. That looks like a King head from Stamina. I use these as they are awesome heads. Nice looking bait.
  17. You can make your own molds out of resin or water putty. Go to tackleunderground.com and look at the tutorials. Good luck.

  23. Here are some cusotm goby baits
  24. Lurecraft has everything you need to get started. If you decide that you like it, then step up to an aluminum mold from Del-Mart or Bob's Tackle Shack. Del-Mart has good starter kits too. If you fish a lot of Senko's, then that would be the way to go. Tackleunderground.com is the place to go for info or any questions you might have about pouring baits. They are a great bunch of guys that will be a lot of help. Good luck. Just let me know if you have any questions.
