I highly recommend getting a small production type pourer for the lead. I had one of the little hot pots(ladle) and it seriously burned my hand >. Since I switched to the Lee Production pot, it has been smooth sailing
  2. Vyron, I will post a picture as soon as I can get to it.
  3. I have started making these, and I am actually excited that not many people up here in the northwest fish these. You can't even find them in the stores up here. I plan on having these in the tackle stores this spring, so hopefully people will start buying them I know you guys don't think a knock off will be as good, but the skirts I am using have a whole lot more action than the standard skirt. I know some of you tackle makers out there know what I am talking about. Getbitlures.com has the best skirts available. These things are pretty sweet. At around 5 bucks a bag, they are a lot cheaper too.
  4. Two new color units, one with GPS. Tackle organizer system.

You guys are the best I haven't decided yet on guides, but I am leaning towards the Fuji Ti frames. I already put them on my flippin stik, which was actually the first rod I had ever built. I really like the looks of them. Thanks for the sizing info for the guides. I appreciate it.

I am getting ready to build a new rod. I am building on a Loomis MB843-GLX 7' MH blank. I want to do a spiral wrap, and was wondering what guides you rod guru's suggest. I like a gunsmoke finish as far as guides go, brand really doesn't matter as long as it is quality. This is going to be my "baby" so don't hold back

That is nice looking cork. Is the blank from here? http://www.blackbearpontoons.com/CamoRod.html I am going to have a trigger reel seat done for my buddies rod I am starting to build.
  8. Great info. Thanks alot
  9. O.K., so I still don't really know exactly what I need to turn a grip. :-/ If I get a grizzly lathe with drill and a 1/4" mandrel, will that do it? It sounds like the 1/4" size will get me by. I know nothing about lathes :-/ Does the mandrel just go into the drill like a bit, and then hook to the cone shaped part(not sure what it is called)LOL. Also, would a set of those chisels on the lamaar website work. I know I also need sand paper. Thanks for helping . I really hate not knowing squat about these kinds of things
  10. I fish a frog on braid, and any topwater plug on regular mono, so it doesn't sink.
  11. Dropshotting a 4" handpoured worm
  12. One sided molds are just fine for lizards, craws or just about any finesse bait. About the only thing I wouldn't want a one sided mold for would be a senko or Ika type bait, although I know some guys who absolutely knock em dead on flat sided senkos. The "true handpours" are flat sided baits. I truly believe that the fish don't care either way, and in some cases as with small finesse type worms, you can actually get a better action with the flat sided bait. Lurecraft molds are good quality silicone molds. They produce a nice bait, but not as nice as aluminum. I use several of the L.C. molds, and will continue to do so. They will last you for a long time.
  13. I have tried just about every type of these baits. I have to say that I like the Boogie bait the best. These type of baits are not magic, but in the right circumstances, they can really whack em
  14. Here another
  15. Here are some pictures of the labels. I can't find the price of them right now, but I will keep looking through my records. I know they were a lot cheaper than printing them out on my computer when you consider the price of ink cartridges and the time it takes. Sorry for the pictures, they are not that great.
  16. Let me dig up the details on price. I can't remember right off the top of my head what the price per bag was. I ordered a few thousand bags, and I haven't needed to reorder yet. I tried the whole printer label thing on my computer, but they just didn't look very professional. I am happy with the look of these labels, and I think they stack up pretty well next to others in the tackle stores I have my baits in. I will try to take a picture of the labels as soon as I can. I will also figure out what the cost is per bag.
  17. It is a different ABA that is hosting this event. Go to http://www.americanbass.com This is where to get all of the info you need.
  18. What are your favorite lucky craft models for shallow crankin? I am making a point of doing a lot more shallow cranking this next year, and I have total confidence in pretty much any bait Lucky Craft makes. The Bait Monkey said it was alright to get some new baits

Where is the best place to order Lucky Craft crankbaits at? Who has the best selection?
  20. Not sure. They just look pretty cool.
  21. These might do it for you. They are new at Jann's Netcraft. They look pretty sweet. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/silicone-skirts/361400.aspx
  22. I went down to an office supply store(Office Depot) and they have labels there that they will print for you. I gave them my design and they took care of the rest. My labels are nice and glossy and they do not fade when in sunlight or when they get wet. I am really happy with them. They come in handy rolls too. They are also very affordable.

I appreciate all of the help. I really need to study up on all of the guides that are available. On the rods that I have built, I basically just picked my guides, not knowing the height of any of them. Luckily, I am happy with all of them. I am really getting hooked on building rods, and I would like to start turning my own cork handles too. I guess I need to go get a lathe. Thanks again for the help. Both of you have been very helpful.
  24. Never mind, I found them on the forum @ stikeking.com.
