  1. Thanks for the info guys. I figure I might as well try it. You can't beat the price. I usually use Berkley 100%, or P-Line, but it gets way too expensive re-lining rods before every tournament.
  2. I couldn't find any 09' models on ebay. Just the 08 models and some of them are asking way too much. I haven't been able to find the new ones anywhere, not basspro, cabelas, *** or anywhere else for that matter. I was under the impression they were just not out yet.
  3. Is this stuff any good? How does it compare to other brands? Thanks.
  4. Anyone know when the '09 Quantums are coming out? I can't wait to get my hands on a couple of them.
  5. I agree, the Quantum Energy bait casting reels are all I own. They are very smooth indeed. My Quantum spinning reels are also very smooth, but a couple of them are developing some handle slop. The only negative thing I can say about the Quantum's, is the weight. They weigh quite a bit more than other top end reels.
  6. Solar Bats with the Mossback lenses. They come in a bunch of styles, and are awesome glasses.
  7. I use tubes from Dry Creek Outfitters. They are based in Idaho, and make some awesome stuff. They have flippin tubes, standard, stubby, and dropshot tubes. Great stuff
  8. All of the products from Vertical Lures are pretty dang good. The jig is very good around wood. The the Tube-X is really effective when following guys pitching creature baits or jigs. It flat out catches fish. I haven't tried the new creature yet, but I would imagine that they work well too.
  9. Does anyone know where I can get some rattling tube heads in bulk packs? I am looking for 3/16 and 1/4 oz heads with big hooks like a 3/0. I got them from a guy on Ebay last year but I can't seem to find him again. His small company was called Domo's Custom Tackle. Anyone heard of him? He made some sweet tube heads. Thanks.
  10. Dry Creek Outfitters make the best tubes I have used. They have some pretty amazing colors.
  11. Check out http://www.wabass.org They have a list of all of the statewide tournaments. The two major circuits are Northwest Bass, and ABA. There are several open tournaments to fish in as well. I would also recommend joining a club. There is also a list of clubs on the above link. Hope this helps.
  12. It is a little bit of a drive, but Tenmile Lakes in Lakeside are awesome. Beautiful, and full of big largemouth. It took over 20 lbs to win a tournamnent down there a few weeks ago, and that was in heavy rain, some snow and hail. Great lake.
  13. All of the major companies are injected. This is why they can offer their stuff at a lower price. They can probably inject 1000 baits by the time a hand pour guy can do 50 pours. They also are able to get core shot baits and the swirl effects that you see in some products. Us hand pour guys can do this to a certain extent, but it is very time consuming and not very cost efficient. I fish my hand pours probably 90% of the time. Mainly because I like my stuff super soft and I can make color combinations not available anywhere else. About the only bait I fish that I don't make is the Yamamoto Hula grub. It is a pain in the butt to make this bait so I buy it so I don't have the hassle. Both style of baits are great in their own ways. Some injected baits are hard as a rock, but a lot of them out now are almost as soft as a handpour.
  14. Which Bass Lake are you talking about?
  15. I would look at the Potholes Reservoir in Washington State. It has excellent fishing for smallmouth, largemouth, walleye, trout, and panfish. It also has some excellent bird hunting around the entire area. Pheasant, quail, ducks and geese.
  16. I fish the double tails on a 1/2 -3/4 oz. football head. Sometime I even go up to a 1 oz if I need to fish deeper water or cover water faster. I like to throw it out, let it sink and then just slowly reel the bait in. Try to keep bottom contact. It mimics a crawfish extremely well. This is top producer for smallmouth up here. I also always try to paint my football heads to match my grub color.
  17. I have also been wanting to get mine repainted with my company name on it. If someone is willing to give it a shot, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
  18. Here is my version of the Swim Baby "E"http://westcoastcustomtackle.myphotoalbum.com/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album01&id=D

  20. Take a look at the Rogue crank bait line. It features a graphite blank, that blends into glass in the upper third of the blank. It is incredible.
  21. I would check out the Rogue line of flippin sticks. They have 2 different 7' 6" models and a 7' 11" model. These rods are very very light and ultra sensitive.
  22. River 2 Sea
  23. A lizard is probably my go to bait. Both 4" and 5.5" for smallmouth.
  24. I would recommend the Rogue 702CBB. Fantastic crankin stick.
  25. Upper Hand Scents make some awesome scents. Megastrike is pretty good too.
