1st boat purchase advice
Ryan, it would do you good to go talk to Jeff Priester at Nixon's Marine down in Walla Walla. Check out his website too. He will treat you right and get you into something that is right for you. He really takes care of his customers too. They are Triton/ Skeeter dealership, but also have some other used brands on the lot.

Split Grip Handle Kits For New Build rod
I was hoping someone on here could give me their opinion on these split grip handle kits. http://www.mudhole.com/Shop-Our-Catalog/CRB-Custom-Handle-System/CRB-Handle-System-1 I have been out of the rod building game for a few years and have a couple of questions on these. How is the graphite tube on these for sensitivity? Is the actual rod blank exposed on the reel seat, or is it the tube? And finally, can these be shortened? I am sure they can, just wanted to be sure. Thanks in advance.

Anybody using or ever used Rogue Rods?
I used to be sponsored by Rogue. They make a fantastic rod. Very light and super sensitive. The MB 704's were my workhorses for sure. I just wish they would concentrate a little more on the bass line up instead of the salmon/steelhead line. I would recommend them to anyone. Great rods.

Tenmile Lake
My tournament partner and I travelled down there a couple of years ago for an open tournament put on by Northwest Bass and had a blast. We didnt' have any problem catching fish, I was just kind of wondering what the water and weather that time of year is traditionally like. The day we were there, there was a huge cold front that covered the entire Pacific Northwest. It snowed that same day up here in Washington, so it was pretty messed up. Black and blue jigs were are bait of choice that day.

Tenmile Lake
Hey all of you Oregon guys, I am trying to plan a trip for myself and a few buddies for this coming spring. I am thinking late April or early May. I have only had one opportunity to fish this lake, and that was mid April a couple of years ago. It was snowing, raining and pretty cold, but the fishing was pretty dang good. My question is when in your opinion should I make my trip. I know the fish were in prespawn with a very few moving up on their beds the last time I went down there. Just curious as to when traditionally would be a good time to head down there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hitting Banks Lake this weekend
Fish the roadbeds south of Steamboat with a football jig with twin tail grub or small creature bait. Carolina rigged 4 & 5" lizards will also get bit. Stay with your browns and greens, such as cinnamon, green pumpkin, and watermelonseed. The winning depth at the Frostbite was 30-40' deep. Don't be afraid to go out to 45 or 50 though either. The fish are there and feeding pretty dang good, so expect some great action.

what flippin stick
I love my Kistler LTX Flippin Stick. The thing is super light and sensitive. Outstanding rod.

Clear Lake FIshing
Anyone been here in the last week or so? Is the fishing as tough as I have heard? Making my first trip down there, so any info would be great. Thanks.

Coffee Scented Lures
Same here. Some of those scents flat out stink up the place. I like to use Upperhand Scents coffe/shad scent. It is a great scent and I get a ton of requests for it.

Tri-Cities WA
I would also be very careful in the Yakima. I tore up two props there last year. One while prefishing for a NW Bass tournament, and then the second during the tournament. Expensive couple of days The Yakima is great fishing in the springs. Most of the guys in the top of the standings at the western divisionals were fishing there. They were all running jet boats. I would be VERY careful (actually I would not suggest it at all) running up there in a bass boat.

RECOIL Guides
I personally, can not stand them. They make a terrible sound, which I can't seem to get over. As far as performance goes, they are very good.

Jigs Vs Senko
Jig because they work everywhere. They are also easier to fish when the wind picks up.

Drop shot - Swimbait.
Probably talking about the Panic Minnow. These have been very popular here out west for quite some time.

Fish Attractants. Which ones work?
I like to use Upper Hand Scents in their Hawg Sauce and Coffee/Shad flavors. Great scents to marinate your baits in!

What is the Most Sensitive Rod Money Can Buy?
I have fished all of the previously mentioned rods and they are all pretty dang good. I would have to say that the Kistler LTX's are about as sensitive as you can get. The GLX's are very nice too, but I prefer the split grip design and I personally feel that the LTX's are a bit more sensitive. Another very sensitive rod is the Rogue MB series. These run around $200, so quite a bit less than the above mentioned and very sensitive. I have built on all of the St. Croix blanks and they are also top notch. The SCV blanks are really sweet. There are a ton of great rods out there now, so don't be afraid to try them all!!!!

Flipping Jigs What is Your Favorite
I just started using All Terrain Jigs and Revenge jigs. Both seem to be pretty dang good.

Worms in my coffee!
You can put some baits into a container with coffee in it. It will absorb some of the coffee smell. A better bet is to use a coffee scent like the one from Upper Hand Scents. They have a coffee shad scent that you can add as you are making your worms, or add a few drops in the bag of worms. These work extremely well.

Question about drop shot hooks?
I agree with Burley on this one. I used to use Gammy's, but my partner and myself both had several decent sized smallmouth bend the crap out of them. Since we switched to Owner mosquito hooks, the problem has not happened. The hooks we had bend, were out of different packs too, so that kind of eliminates the bad batch theory.

Best fluid bed for the $
I was too lazy to build my own so I got mine from TJ's Tackle. He sells powder paints too. Good price IMO and really good fluid bed.

Scents
Upper Hand Scents. The Hawg Sauce and Coffee/shad are amazing products.

sunglasses
I agree with the above post. I would go with prescription sunglasses. My first choice would be Solar Bats.

Bass fishing near Mountain Home AFB Idaho
I went to lineman college down there and there is a lake(forgot the name) just past Mountain home right next to the freeway. I guess it would be east of Mountain Home. It is an awesome little lake full of largemouth. The Snake is pretty good everywhere I tried it and there is also an awesome bass lake in Nampa which isn't too far away. Very good fishing around there. Good Luck.
