  1. Go Gators! ;D
  2. Beautiful 2 pounder! ;D
  3. I have been using the space monkey for: 1) Swimming with a 4/0 1/8 oz weighed SwimX hook. 2) Pitching it with a 3/8-1 oz tru-tungsten weight with a Peter T #3 peg. Straight shank 4/0 Owner. 3) Punching mats on a 1.5 oz tungsten. Straight shank 4/0 Owner. Hope this helps. Favorite colors: Pumpkin, Bama Bug and Double header in clear water. Junebug in stained water.
  4. Simple solution. Otherwise, Chris Fish suggests braid with a fluorocarbon leader. I don't use either. #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid is almost as stealthy as Fluro, much stronger and far more manageable. 8-) #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Soft is also an alternative, which has a greater mono content and way more manageable. Otherwise throw PowerPro with a leader.
  5. I have yet to go up north and catch a smallie. Great pics man, keep em coming!
  6. Don't use fluorocarbon line on spinning outfits.
  7. I think there are some club listings at the Ocala Gander Mountain. Go check it out.
  8. I've been fishing Rodman quite a lot lately and I've fell in love with the fishery. I have never been skunked at Rodman. However, it is pretty tough to catch good size fish (probably 95% of the fish I catch are under 2 lbs) but there are some large fish. About a month ago, at a tournament weigh in I saw a guy pull out a 10lb-4oz female from the live well. Drifting through the stump fields south of the channel is very productive for me most of the time. You want to be able to cover a lot of water when drifting, so throw shallow crankbaits. The depth goes from 3 ft to 7 ft (and the 20ft creek channels). Bandits 100, RC1.5 and Bomber Square A shallow cranks all will catch plenty of bass. Swimjigs and jerkbaits can also be very productive. Because the majority of the stumps are vertical, pay close attention to stumps that look different. For example, horizontal stumps and forks. Unless a big storm comes through, water will be very clear. Natural colors and fluorocarbon line is a must. I have recently changed from 10lb powerpro to 12 lb trilene fluoro for cranking applications ... and I can tell from experience that visibility makes a difference. Also, make long casts.
  9. There is a member here that has a lot of good success on golf courses down there, I think his name is Krzkev. Look him up and pm him. He seems like he could help you out.
  10. Put bigger hooks on them. You will loose a lot less fish and not compromise the action of your lure too much if you upsize your lures. For example: Lures with #6 trebles >>> put some #4 Owner Stinger hooks. These hooks have a shorter shank, are sharp and very strong. You will loose a lot less fish.
  11. Bro, I just don't get it. It's not that I want to go to that lake and fish it ... but when you show pics of fish and the backround blurred out it comes off like bragging. Sorry, but this forum is not for bragging ... it's for sharing.
  12. Those fish are sweet man! Congrats!
  13. It's so that you can't go to lake Okeelehee and steal all of their fish. :-?
  14. I don't want to sound like an donkey-crevice, but is that photoshopped? You index finger in the fish's mouth looks "fishy"... If not .. I would guess 7 lbs.
  15. There is a big chance I will be fishing lox on saturday. Anyone interested?
  16. Cool outing! Congrats! Is that lake Wellington?
  17. Revo STX + Powell 702C
  18. I agree completely. Lox has always been a really tough place to fish for me. I either catch a lot or nothing at all. I went to alligator alley this past week too but only caught a couple of dinky fish. Both caught pitching a watermelon seed trick worm on an 1/8oz spot remover. I don't know if you've noticed the amount of oscars/cyclids there are in alley right now. It's unbelievable. Bass must be getting pretty fat right now.
  19. I went to loxahatchee this past thursday and caught ~10 frog fish early in the morning, throwing a watermelon seed horny toad along the canal that runs north, east of the flats. I've been there a few times but I have yet to catch a descent sized fish ... I have the hardest time understanding that place. Any pointers?
  20. "weigh" you mean ...
  21. At least you got a pair of Owner trebles
  22. Congrats bro. Pontoons are a lot of fun! Enjoy!
  23. Lobsters displace so much water it's ridiculous. Nice fish man!
