  1. I've got a 702cef paired up with a citica 200e for my speedworm combo. It light and really well balanced.
  2. Speed-worm setup: 1/16 oz screw-in/ Zoom Uvibe speed worm Lipless crank setup: SPRO aruku shad jr.
  3. I get mine on thursday (and a Powell 702CEF). I'll post some pictures. There is actual pictures of this reel on the classifieds section of this forum (I believe Burley is selling his).
  4. You can think of a rod as a member with a fixed end and an unrestricted end with 6 unrestricted global degrees of freedom. When you apply a load at the tip of this cantilevering member, moments create internally in the rod. These are greatest at the handle and diminish linearly as you approach the tip. At midspan, the moments and shears are considerable. A joint will transfer shears just fine, but cannot provide a perfect moment transfer. In other words, it acts as a partially restrained joint. This means that there is going to occur some rotation due to the introduction of the joint. Clear?
  5. Didn't your grandma ever told you that it is bad for you to swim with your tummy full? ;D

  8. It's all a matter of profile. Using a smaller size worm doesn't mean that bigger bass won't bite. However, it has great appeal to smaller species. An increased profile will probably diminish the appeal to baitfish.
  9. Stay away from Quantum. I would take a low end Shimano over a high end Quantum any day of the week. The new Symetre 3000FJ are pretty nice. I am sure satisfied with mine.
  10. Color doesn't affect fishing. But if I'm gonna spend money on something, It'd rather not make me vomit every time I use it (with exception of liquor).
  11. Scenario: Shimano decides to manufacture a new batch of 200E7's and 200E5's with the same mechanical attributes, but with the old 200D's color scheme. Would you be more likely to purchase one? The attributes and quality of the reel is undeniably good, but I just can't get over the color of it. It does not please my eyes!
  12. Hey don't feel offended! Miss State is not that bad! You guys give our second team a lot of play time! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jid7cP2ZTY
  13. Big baits that catch big fish and attract lots of monkeys.
  14. I can throw them a considerable distance (>30 yds) with a 7'6" ML-F Kunnan with a symetre 3000FJ and 10 Powerpro. But I have trouble doing the same with my 7' M StCroix Prem and Citica.
  15. I've been looking around for about 6 months now. I'm looking to buy a whole set of reels (1 for light lures, 3 burners and an all around). I've been looking at Daiwas mostly. But since the new curados were coming out, I decided I could wait out ...
  16. Pixies are great and the ideal bc reel for the application. But they are a bit pricey. Other than the pixy, which other Daiwas would you say handle light lures well (1/4 oz)?
  17. Before this gets out of hand due to brand favoritism, I would like to hear the opinion of those that DO fish lures this light. Scenario: Let's say you want to cover as much water as possible and are using an 1/8 oz rapala floating minnow. You are equiped with small diameter line (Power pro 10 lb test) and have to rank reels as to which will handle the task at hand better. Reels have to be under $300. Rank: - Favorite ABU - Favorite Daiwa (no pixies please) - Favorite Shimano i.e: (1. STX, 2. MG7, 3. Alpha ito)
  18. This is such an embarassment for the SEC. I truly wanted to see Tennessee succeed in this one. In the past few years, Tenneesse has been the Mississippi State of the SEC East. Truly deplorable.
