  1. Yep, I'm disappointed in the colors avaliable. But the lucky craft skt mag comes in some great colors and is an awesome oversized squarevill!
  2. I bought a very lightly used mossy back 874 last month for $70 at a sporting goods store. I'm like you, I didn't need it, but couldn't pass up the deal!
  3. I've never caught a fish on mine. I normally end up taking it off and just throwing a G2 shell cracker instead. They make some racket though!
  4. I'm not saying docks aren't good out there, but i never fish me. I look for shallow grass flats with a creek running alongside it. Chech the inside and outside grasslines. When the sun comes up, pick up a bit 1.25oz jig and punch the outside grassline. May not get a lot of bites, but you can catch some giants!
  5. This year has been absolutely ridiculous! Toledo Bend has been on fire since last spring. I've had numerous days of 25Lbs+ out there this year. Caught my PB back in March, weighed 10.2, and was caught in a tournament. Had 26.52lbs that day. The Bama rig, jig, and 10xd has produced every big fish from there for me.
  6. Sun line sniper hands down. Look at the line diameter of each line. Sniper 16lb has the same diameter of most 12-14lb lines. Get some 16 or 20lb sniper and have at it. I've caught 20+ fish over 7lbs this year on Toledo and most have been on 16lb sniper!
  7. Housen and six mile are great places to start. Six mile is a little harder to pattern for me as housen has a lot more points, creeks, flats, ect. I love fishing deep water, but my last 2 trips haven't been nearly as productive as I would have hoped. I think the bass are starting to move shallow already. The water temp this past Monday was 82, so I would definitely check shallow first. Top water, cranks, and spinnerbaits should all produce.
  8. Yep, I throw 10xds all the time. I love my dobyns 805cb. Handles them really good. I ordered a 806cb to try out too. I have some of the lucky craft mag cranks and they are bigger than the 10xds so I'll be using hose on the 806cb. By the way, cabelas has 10xd for $4.99 right now! I ordered $175 worth last night lol
  9. You kicked my butt then lol. I only caught 6 fish Monday and only one over 3lbs. I stayed deep all day, probably should have moved shallow, but I was to hard headed.
  10. The 10xd is an awesome bait for the 25' range. I've caught over 20 fish over 5lbs this year on one, with 2 over 8 and one at 9lbs!
  11. G2 Shellcracker
  12. Fished from daylight till 3 today. Only caught 6 fish but had 22.5lbs. Big fish was 8lbs. Caught fish in 25-30ft on big shaky head and crank bait.
  13. H2O mettle (buy on sale for $30) Used 7' M/F rod (st. Croix avid, shimano crucial, Powell max, lots of good ones ou there) 8-10lb floro Should be able to get all this for not much over $100
  14. Fished 11hours last night. One bite, but atleast she was 8lbs. It was tough out there!! Came in 4th place out of 20 boats if that tells you anything.
  15. I always liked talking with jack Yates (fishfordollars). He was a great guy and super sharp! RIP brother.
  16. I'll finally be able to get away and fish Friday night and in my club tournament Saturday night. Having a 2nd child slows down fishing for a bit lol.
  17. The Black Dog G2 Shellcracker is an awesome bream imatating wake bait!
  18. If you can find a used Powell square bill rod it will be worth the $! Should be able to get one for $100-120 depending on the seller, but it is a sweet square bill and spinnerbait rod. It's lister as a heavy action, mf tip, but it loads up well and keeps big fish buttoned. I have 3 and will never sell em!
  19. Congrats man! That is awesome. I bet you made it look easy to your inlaws lol.
  20. Night time!!! Two different buddies of mine had over 30lbs this weekend at night.
  21. If you're going to be doing both I would go with 20lb floro
  22. Braid for pitching a jig and 16lb floro for dragging a jig.
  23. Upgrade to the TiMax!!Then let me know how good they are! Lol
  24. It's according to your lake. Around here in Louisiana, pitching and flipping catches more big bass than any other technique. BUT, on Toledo Bend, it's hard to beat dragging a football jig in 20-20ft
  25. Yep, the double take hook hook through each leg. It doesn't affect the action of the frog though.
