Central Georgia I got a late start this year (FPS online gaming - nuff said) but it seems about the same as last year. I'm fishing more crank baits and trying new things. Also, some brushpiles I dropped in my subdivision pond are paying off in spades.

I think the Mepps is probably the better bait...but I use mostly Roostertails due to a significant price advantage over the Mepps at Wallyworld. I make two mods to the Roostertail - I bend over the line tie (similar to a Shyster) to reduce line twist, and I bend the tip of the blade outward - this gets better action on the blade. Not according to the law which is my point. Sexual contact with a 15 year old is ILLEGAL regardless of your age. If two 15 year olds had sex, BOTH could be charged with a crime. Who cares, the girl's father seems to accept his apology, so quit busting his balls. I think some parents should take a long hard look at both their daughter and son. I think some father still think their daughter are princess and it all the boys fault....Totally wrong. It not always the boys. I've met girls like that. I'm sure those of you that are a father right now have met girls like that. Things are not always what it seems. Not 'busting his balls' but rather trying to wake his butt up to how bad his life could be screwed up messing around with an UNDERAGED girl regardless of consent which he admits that he coerced her into doing whatever it was in public.. IT IS A VERY SERIOUS CRIME. Comprende? As far as his slate being wiped clean at 18, you're right; every state's different. Here in Georgia it stays on your record so he'd be a registered offender FOR LIFE. Yeah, let's ruin someone's life because they got a little horny at 17 or 18. Getting a piece as a teenager should not make you a sex offender. That title should be reserved for those who like to rape and touch little boys. Not trying to get into an argument but at what age do you consider it wrong to 'get a piece' from a underaged girl then? 21? 31? 41? The person who potentially ruined this young man's life is HIMSELF. This 17 year old young man needs to realize there are consequences to his actions and in this case SEVERE consequences. He needs to either look for a girl 'of age' or keep his hands OFF this one. In fact, the parents are partly to blame for allowing their daughter to be unsupervised around boys PERIOD. No way I'd let him anywhere near my kid after this.

Congrats! Some advice I can give you is: Get them on a schedule and stick to it: Bed time is this. Your bed is here and NOT in mama n daddy's room. Be consistent: You and your wife stand shoulder to shoulder in front of the kid(s). Don't undermine each other in front of them. Honesty: Teach them that above all else you want them to be truthful. Raising my girls, the worst thing they could do was to lie to me. If they did that, it was a spanking + timeout + soap in mouth + loss of desert/tv that night. Be a parent first: If it turns out you're friends too, good but NOT required. The kid needs parents and not a buddy. Good luck.

Sam has some great advice; talk to your boss and let him know you want to work in some form or fashion until you're cleared to do your other job. Good jobs are highly sought after at this time with the economy and if you value this one, don't mess around. Good luck man.

Preface my statement with this: I have two daughters 18/16 who I didn't let date until they turned 16. My wife and I drove them to/from school everyday and keep them involved in church. They are under constant ADULT supervision or were until they turn 16. If you had sexual contact with my daughter in ANY way before the legal age of consent (which it sounds like you did with that girl), your butt would be facing prosecution and you'd be a registered sex offender for the rest of your life. If that happened, good luck trying to get a good job, live anywhere you want, etc..... Are you beginning to see how bad this could go for you, yet? You better walk the straight and narrow or that girl's dad may press charges. And the second part of your statement about finding a conservative girl; with what you had in mind why were you looking for a conservative one? So you could turn her away from that? Lucky Craft lures are really nice looking but personally I've caught more on Bandit Cranks than L.C. ones. Both get the same amount of time but for some reason the Bandit ones just catch more for ME. Worst lure? Don't really have one. Since I got back into fishing, I mainly buy what guys here tell me work.

I use Zoom plastics with JJ's about 90% of the time. I stopped dipping the tail in the jar and started folding it to dip the middle in. The reasoning being the fish will hang onto the middle of the worm (near where the hook is at) longer. Probably just a psychological thing but it's working.

A lot of the detailed ones also tout a better build quality and also a BIGGER price. Better hooks, better balance, etc......will probably make it run truer and with better hooks will probably land more fish. That being said, my little cheapo $4.00 Tennessee Shad Bandit Crank owns my Skeet Reese $15.00 Ghost minnow Crank. Which looks more realistic to me? The S.R. does but I'm not the one trying to eat em.
