  1. Don't believe in superstitions? Good luck with that! I usually go with BASSclary's Mojo/JOO-JOO philosophy. If you start off bad, chances are you're in for a bad day. Although there have been several times where I've started off bad (broken rod, spilled tackle box, leaking boat, etc) but I end up catching some really nice fish. The fish in my avatar was caught on such a day. Leaking boat, caught ZERO fish in a couple hours and while boat was draining caught her near the boat ramp.
  2. I lost my favorite crank today fishing from shore but couldn't bring myself to go in after it when a new one costs $4.00. A little Bandit shallow crank that I found last year in a tree and have been catching a lot of bass with it since. I did find a Bomber one in a tree yesterday. Guess I'm still even although I miss my little buddy.
  3. "ESPN's "Outside the Lines" just did a feature on the beverage. It's said to make those who abuse it feel drowsy, weak and in an "altered level of consciousness." Perhaps not coincidentally, the Oakland Raiders released Russell because he always played as if he was drowsy, weak and in a state of altered consciousness. " "Drowsy, weak and in a state of altered consciousness" is physician speak for major suckitude.
  4. I'd have to agree with this guess or maybe a tad heavier. Great catch all the same. As you show the picture around, tell people the water in the lake dropped 1 foot when you hauled this toad out.
  5. Yeah and Shaw seemed like a decent fellow too. Thanks for posting this Glenn. Good stuff!
  6. I'm by no means an expert but I have caught some of my biggest fish in shallow water with direct sunlight during the middle of the day (11am-6pm) including the 9lber in my avatar. Sunlight is a minor factor IMO.
  7. Divorced. ;D Well, bait monkey is persistent AND quite frankly in need of an English tutor.
  8. Sam, if it's not too much trouble can you forward that PM to me as well? Thanks.
  9. Well said. I'm a complete noob at reading offshore structure with my little depthfinder. That being said, nothing like tooling around far from shore, finding some structure and pulling a fish or two off it. Good stuff.
  10. I still don't understand why people are paying to see this flick. That chick is one of the worst actresses I have ever seen in my life. Because Vampires are 'cool' now. They can make people like anything if they put a boring love story in it... I'm waiting for a someone to fall in love with a zombie but they can't be together because every time they touch the zombie loses a limb... Give it time, it will happen! LOL! I've seen a Zombie movie along these lines. Zombie Honeymoon. It kinda sucked but I was bored and rented it. I'd watch it again before I ever thought about seeing that Twilight movie. http://www.horrortalk.com/reviews/23-zombie-honeymoon.html
  11. Yeah I think they're doing a good job with it and I'm glued to the set each week. However it's difficult not viewing it as exploiting a tragic loss.
  12. Looks like a jeep got it on with a tractor and this is the result. I don't like the look of it and surely don't like the price of it.
  13. Blood or freshly disturbed dirt. Yep; those are definitely signs of blood sucker activity. You see blood or freshly disturbed dirt and a lawyer is sure to be around shortly.
  14. Man, that one 'Donald Loves Daisy' (upper right corner) had me in stitches. Reminded me of Rodney Dangerfield in 'Caddyshack'. "Hey, someone step on a duck?"
  15. Those who work for the Federal Government/Military should qualify for a big discount with Oakley. I've yet to order anything with them but I did register and they do give you a really good deal on stuff. https://secure.usstandardissue.com/Index.cfm
  16. Sad about Capt. Phil and his little druggie son, Jake. Hopefully they mended their relationship before Phil passed away. ***Spoiler alert:*** I was glad the Hilstrands decided to offer Mike the run of the boat when they retire instead of Jonathan's son, Scottie. Scottie is a little punk IMO whereas Mike has always been loyal, knowledgeable and hard working.
  17. No doubt. Was taking a rest stop on a shoreline with the boat pulled up and noticed a crankbait hanging from a tree. Pulled it down, cleaned it up a little and it immediately became one of my best producers. Bandit Series 100 Tennessee Shad.
  18. I'm not anal about scents although I'm a believer that scenting a lure does attract more fish and without a doubt, makes them hang onto it longer. The downside is that since I started using JJ's Magic, the number of fish swallowing the hooks (worm hooks) has doubled.
  19. When's the last time you changed your line? What size gear are you using? The guys can correct me if I'm wrong but in real clear water aren't you supposed to downsize the presentation. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/clear_water_tips.html
  20. I think I use Allok Video Converter. It's pretty good and allows you to save video in different formats (mov, AVI, asf, etc..)
  21. They took that Mercury stuff out. ;D Stuff has gotten smaller and smaller but they also push 'King size' stuff which is too much (although you pay for it).
  22. Was a good movie and not the first time I've rooted for a 'bad guy' in a movie. Another one was American Gangster. Pulled for Denzel's character (drug dealing murderer) in that one.
  23. Steelers finish 14-2, get home field throughout the playoffs and win it all.............again.
  24. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=150254 Choked and restrained reality star girlfriend Tila Tequila. What a moron............... >
