"Fool a Fish" uv ray spray.
Here's an article describing how it was invented/discovered which seems to indicate it works on fowl as well by making the decoy look more natural: http://www.atlasmikes.com/index.php?page=article&id=13 All the negative stuff I've seen posted as I searched for references, never tried using the stuff. They either stated 'it didn't glow' (apparently they don't know they can't see in UV) or 'call it fool a fisherman'. Like Mattlures said, for $5.00 what's it gonna hurt? I don't fish in real deep water but I may see if Dick's has a bottle of it and give it a try. Hell, I thought the same thing (sounds too good to be true) with some garlic smelling stuff called 'J.J.s Magic'.

Rick Clunn Lucky Craft Crankbait depths?
I just bought 1.5 and 2.5 and the description said 0-4 ft. Fished with the 1.5 and it seems about right. Love them by the way. Already catching fish.

A hypothetical question
Hey Kent, Thinking about big Smallmouth bass, your avatar pic came to mind. Maybe we should have a Message Board Record for fish we've caught. Kind of a Wall of Fame thread or something.

What's going on ???
Problem is alot of other boards allow people to get pretty ugly. Here the mods let a little venting to go on but no shots being fired. The newbies just need to become educated as to what is and isn't allowed here. And if I were a newbie, I'd hang out for quite awhile before I started 'ranting' about anything. Kind of like going to a friend of a friend's house and putting your feet up on the coffee table.

Whatever Works
agree, but to be fair I never really cared for him, wasn't much funny to me, I'm more of a Mel Brooks style Mel Brooks was indeed awesome. Stuff is STILL funny to this day.

Well put. If someone doesn't agree with another person's post, offer your opinion but no one should be told to shut up. ;D

The attack of the squid
http://www.deeperblue.com/article.php/696/%200/0 Here's a good article on them as well. Guy had an encouter in which a 7' one attacked him but he had on armor. Scary stuff.

The attack of the squid
Very interesting indeed. Of course, I share the opinion I wouldn't go swimming with them anymore than I'd go walking around at night in Africa. Actually, I just don't go walking around at night to begin with. These people that want to swim with them are the same people that want to run with the bulls in Spain.

Never been a fan of Woody Allen and after he married the kid he raised, I definitely am not paying to see him in anything other than a jail cell.

Golf vs Fishing
Fantastic way of putting it. I gave up golf when it started getting real expensive and I realized I'd never be as good as my expectations. I'd make a triple bogey on the first hole and feel the rest of the 5 hours would be wasted. I may lose a big fish on the first cast and feel disappointed, but I still have fun. Now I go maybe once a year, expect nothing and shoot in the 80s. I have a great time but I'd rather be fishing.

Tackle gadgets.
Got a 12' extendable golf ball retriever I use to recover tree ornaments or unhook shallow snags. Block of wood with holes I cut out with a Forstner bit to hold my jars of J.J.'s Magic.

Requiem for a Bandit...
One of the reasons I love this lil guy is that it's given me confidence that I didn't have with crankbaits. Never tried the shallow/medium ones before him but now I'm hooked (pardon the pun). Granted, I'm like Travis Henry though (any port in the storm) because he's just one of my shallow cranks now as I bought some L.C. ones too.

Requiem for a Bandit...
That's really a great read John. Thanks. I, too have a lil' Bandit 100 buddy and even though I haven't had him that long, my appreciation of him is great. This April, as I was scouting out for some spawning bass in my lake, I noticed some fishing line hanging from a tree. Knowing it was probably just a plastic worm up there, I went over and checked it out. Surprise, surprise; a tree ornament. A Bandit 100 series in Tennessee Shad color. I thought to myself 'guess some bank fisherman lost this lil' guy.' The hooks were kind of rusty and bent, and it was pretty dirty. Changed out the hooks, cleaned it up and tried it out about a week later. Since then, it's been my #1 producer of bass and even some very chunky bluegills. On Tuesday this week, I even caught two fish at the same time on the lil guy (1.5 and 1 #er). He is my most inexpensive lure (can't beat free!) and my most valuable one.

The wings places around my house aren't that great but I love the nuclear option.

Nice truck; congrats! Although I love my 2004 Toyota Tundra Doublecab SR5, I like the look of the Tacoma better.

I left a comment stating she caught it on a Banjo Minnow dipped in J.J. Magic Sauce.

"Refurbished" LC's on Ebay
Alot of the stores there don't combine shipping so they're guaranteed a certain $$. I NEVER buy from them. The red flag for me was the 15,000 Lucky Craft auctions they have with the lures .01 a piece.

Favorite shallow crainkbait
Great little bait there. I've been killing them on that exact bait/color. I also like the Lucky Craft Clunn 1.5 in Ghost minnow. BPS still has them at $9.95
