  1. For some reason last year there was a run on the lead colored 1/8 oz bullet worm weights at the stores I frequent. I purchased some black ones and couldn't buy a bite. Switched back to the lead colored ones and seemed to do better with them. This year, ran out of the lead colored ones again but the black caught some fish. I think it's a confidence thing with me though.
  2. I keep my JJ's in the top portion of my tackle box but I make sure I keep the lid (of box and jar) closed. Mine fizzes a little bit when it's 90 degrees out but never fizzes over the top. Just bubbles a second and then it's fine. Key is to keep it out of direct sunlight for any length of time.
  3. It's relaxing for me most every day cept when I have 'one of those days' where most every perfect cast results in a snag, wind keeps blowing me around the anchor rope, etc..... It's days like those that I wished I would have stayed in bed or done something else.
  4. LateFall/Winter/Early Spring = Boots, yardworking jeans and a long sleeve 'has been' shirt. Late Spring/Summer/Early Fall = Flip flops or yard sneakers, 'has been' shorts/tshirts. I'm trolling for fish, not women. Caught my limit there already.
  5. X1,000,000 I had a boss that would say that ALL the time. God what a moron. He said several things that would qualify. Once he gave me a crappy yearly review and I asked to have a meeting with the manager about it. He told me 'I didn't mean for this review to sound decrimental to you'. Another time he said he had a question about this report I wrote concerning adjustments to a chilled water chemical system. I wrote 'course adjustments final; minute adjustments to follow.' He said 'what's with minute adjustments (60 seconds of time)' I explained it's 'minute (as in small )' but they're spelled the same. He of course had me change it to 'small incriments' instead.
  6. Totally objective review here...... Last year I went out to K.C. on business and just happened to stay at a hotel right next to Oklahoma Joe's BBQ restaurant in Olathe. Of the nine nights I stayed there, I ate at Oklahoma Joe's six of them. Fantastic food and GINORMOUS portions at a great price. I tried pretty much everything they had cept ribs and everything was MAGNIFICENT to say the least. I even brought home some of their 'Cowtown' sauce. It's should be it's own food group.
  7. Too bad he couldn't keep the shell of the missile. GUARANTEED to move the slowpoke out of the passing lane if they see that strapped to the roof of the car behind them.
  8. When I'm getting a lot of tail bites, I'll stop dipping the tail and double the worm over so the middle goes down in the jar for a couple seconds. Only problem then seems to be getting more fish that swallow the hook. :
  9. You can't hear this enough man: Thanks for your service to our coutry and be careful.
  10. A nooner that involved JJ's? She must be a good sport.
  11. Funny picture. Makes you wonder why people that see that carp sign would still go ahead and eat them. For that matter, why people would still eat trout from the same 'polluted' waters.
  12. ;D ;D ;D Man, that was good.
  13. I think there are at least a couple types of confidence while fishing. Confident in the bait you're throwing (that you're presenting it well) and confident that conditions are prime to catch a lot of fish. I'm confident in several baits that I throw and marginal for several others. After numerous outings that I came up empty despite conditions that LOOKED prime, I gave up going in with any confidence that I would do well. As with a lot of things, expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed.
  14. I was gonna post that but figured it would get deleted as being insensitive. Good job Burley. From the details emerging, he died naked while being choked with a cord around his neck and his hands tied. Possible homicide or some sechs act gone wrong. Same thing that happened to INXS lead singer.
  15. I'd wager this to be the case than what others have implied which was some sort of improper behavior on her part while away. Seriously guys; she's a little ticked for no apparent reason (that he can think of) and acting unstable when he's spending the day away from her (after she's gone for a week) so she's been cheating?! If that's the case, we've all been getting cheated on. Talk to her and as others have said, don't get defensive. Be honest with yourself and try to smooth things over.
  16. Three possible responses depending on how I did: Lot of fish = 'did pretty good' Several fish = 'did okay' Barely any = 'just a couple dinks' If I caught something huge though I pull out the cellphone and they get to see a picture of it.
  17. I guess the view is different too!
  18. Sad news. :'( Adios Grasshopper.........
  19. I assume the food he's eating tastes like crap the first time around so he figures 'what the heck........'
  20. Soooo many BBQ sauces.........so little time. Sweet Baby Rays is good but sometimes I like the thicker sauce like Cattleman's or K.C. Masterpiece. About a year ago I went out to Kansas City for a work related trip staying out there for 9 nights. Of those 9 nights, I ate BBQ 6 nights.
  21. I got clipped by a lady at my kid's school who provided a policy number from an expired insurance card. Luckily there was a resource officer (deputy) at the school to write it up as she was wanting to just give me a couple hundred to get my truck fixed. I told her no it was more than $300.00 worth of damage and had the police fill out the report. Turns out she no insurance so I had to file uninsured motorist claim (-$500.00 for me) AND she was bringing her kids illegally to that school by using her mother's address. She got several fines from what I understood and her kids got booted from school. Good luck man, if they don't have insurance take them to small claims court for your deductable.
  22. Why on Earth is there braille on drive up ATMs? Why do people say 'same difference'? If a frog had wings, would we still eat their legs?
  23. Short Bus Drivers Wacky Rigs Largemouth Express
  24. Sure they can 'learn' to associate a certain lure(s) with a visit to the surface and/or a livewell but how long do they retain that? That's the real question: How long is their memory? Some fish are caught time after time with the same bait while others seem to be uncatchable. Is it that the catchable fish are just more agressive and will make more reaction strikes or are they just dumber? I choose the later just as with all living things, including humans. When it comes to survival some got the brains, some don't.
