Haven't handled the new Accurist but I do have a Catalyst that I really like. The Accurist looks pretty similar but still has the flipping switch. Check them out at www.quantumfishing.com if you haven't already.

The six foot med. Quantum might make a good rod for Pop-R's or jerkbaits. Working them with the tip down, a shorter rod keeps me from slapping the water with my rod tip.

Texas rig it weightless and twitch over shallow vegetation. It also works well wacky rigged.

I use trailer hooks on all my spinnerbaits. I put the trailer hook on first and then put that keeper on, that way the hook swings freely. I catch a lot of fish on the trailer, especially in clear water when the bass just swipe at the spinnerbait. You will get hung up more with the trailer hook if you're fishing around cover, but the extra bass are worth it to me.

I thought maybe it was my computer but it's also slow on my computer at work.

I guess I'm in the mono only club. I know some will say I'm missing out but I've tried braid and I hate the stuff. Original Stren for me.

I guess mine would figuring out the right pattern... which I contribute to my willingness to change lures like a crazy man until I figure them out.

Thanks for all the input so far. I had kind of guessed the 2500 size would be best but I wanted to get a little head start before I actually went to a tackle shop and checked them out.

x2 The spring classic is coming up at the end of Feb. and you will be getting that reel at 80 bucks. And if they still have the reel trade in program you can probably get for even less.

I'm looking for either a 1000 or 2500 size Symetre or Sahara. It will be going on a 6'6" med. ex. fast Compre and will be used mostly for shakey heads and wacky rigs. I will be spooling it with 8lb test. I haven't had a chance to check out either in the store yet but was hoping to get some input here first. Thanks.

The new Ike Revo will be black with red flames, the bearings will scream "never give up!" during the cast. It will be loud, controversial, and unpredictable on the water but people will say "it's totally different off the water". X2. I'm in Morehead, not far from you. We got 3"-4" of snow yesterday. I can deal with that but this cold is ridiculous.

I was going to buy a DVD recorder/VHS combo when I found the software program. I've got a ton of old cassettes that I can't listen to so since this worked for both I figured I'd try it. I've only had it a couple of weeks but so far transfering the cassettes has worked well. This is kind of my "winter project" to help ward off cabin fever until I can fish again, LOL.

Abu and BPS roll off the same production lines anyway, so why not? OK, picture this: the guy who normally paints the Revos called in sick, and the guy who paints the Johnny Morris Gold was filling in for him and thought "Hmmmm, I wonder what a gold Revo would look like". ;D

I've got a Fuego and the Premier rod you're asking about. I haven't used them as a combo, but my opinion is the Fuego casts better with a softer rod. The medium Premier is more like a medium-heavy. I use it for single hook lures like T-rigs, spinnerbaits, and buzzbaits but would not recommend it for cranks or jerkbaits.

Maybe they should change their name to Ab-Pflu Gar-Silstar?

I've been every year since there's been one within reasonable driving distance. The one's in Cincy and Clarksville are about 2 and a half hours from where I live. I prefer the Clarksville store. It's a yearly thing for me and some of my fishing buds.
