  1. Quantum Tour Edition PT 665F and Citica 200E.
  2. Daiwa Fuego baitcaster for $179 when the local Sportsman's Warehouse closed. Or Shimano Citica 100DSV/BPS Extreme combo for $109 (on sale+rebate from Shimano).
  3. Are any of your friends afraid of snakes? Get a couple of rubber snakes and plant them everywhere. One of my friends, John, is really afraid of snakes so we bought some rubber snakes and we'll put them in his cooler, then when he's not looking we'll put one in his tacklebox, one in his sleeping bag, etc. We know when he's found one because you can hear him hollar across the lake. One of the best ones was one time the guy in my boat put one these on his lure and cast in out, then when we got close to John's boat we acted like we had hooked a big bass. I'm standing there with the net and finally we pull this three foot long nasty looking snake out the water hooked on a crankbait. The look on John's face was priceless, he looked like he was ready to walk on water. On our annual Bass Pro Shops trip, we'll put one in the glove box and then ask him to get something out for us or under the visor on his side knowing eventually he'll pull it down.
  4. What brand of rods are you using? One manufacturers MH can feel like anothers M. Also, what reel are you using (specifically what gear ratio)? Some older reels with high gear ratios (before high efficiency/oversized gears) make any resistance type lure seem "heavy". What types of blades are on your spinnerbaits? If they are colorado blades, that could be part of it too.
  5. Respiratory Therapist for a home medical equipment company. This month was my 17th year. Man, time flies.
  6. John Wayne-The Searchers Clint Eastwood-Unforgiven My favorite is Robert Duvall as Augustus McCrae in Lonesome Dove.
  7. I like a 1/8th oz. white Rooster Tail when I'm out and just want to catch something.
  8. You may want to check ***.com, they have a Labor Day sale for 15% off and free shipping. I just ordered another Citica E for $101.99.
  9. I would definately recommend the Citica E. It's hard to beat it for the price. Just start out with 4 or even 6 brakes set and work your way down. Learning to use a baitcaster can take a little time and patience but get out in the back yard and practice before you head out to the water.
  10. I use cotton candy Zoom finesse worms on a split shot rig in clear water. It's one of the best colors I've found for clear water.
  11. 6' 4" Team All Star and Citica 200E.
  12. I use these, you can stick them on the bill of your cap or on your clothes, they work. My wife found them in the camping section at Wal-Mart. http://www.lancoresearch.com/skeeter.htm
  13. I caught an eight or nine inch bass off a bare treble hook once. A buddy of mine dropped his rod and reel over the side the boat and I put a sinker and a treble hook on one of my rods and was dragging the bottom trying to snag his line. We never did find his combo though.
  14. Definately check with your doctor. Some things he will ask is do you snore, do you wake up frequently, does your bed partner say you seem to "stop breathing" while sleeping, leg movements, etc. You've already stated you're tired during the day. Also, do you have high blood pressure or any history of heart disease? All are symptoms to or are related to sleep apnea. Google "sleep apnea" and see if any of your symptoms fit so when you see your doctor, you'll know what to ask him and what he'll ask you. Good luck.
  15. Right on George. I see no M.D. or D.O. after anyone's name. See a real doctor and/or a dietician and get a physical exam. I'm a respiratory therapist, which is why I suggested looking into sleep apnea. And two people before you two did suggest seeing a doctor.
  16. Neutrogena makes suncreen that is 85 SPF. It's not greasy like a lot of suncreens, you can't even tell it's there. The thing I like about it is that it doesn't run down into your eyes when you sweat. I talked to guy one time who said he had a little skin cancer on his ear he was getting ready to have removed. I could see a little spot on his ear, then he showed me the back side of his ear, it looked like it was about to rot off. Now sunscreen goes everywhere.
  17. Could be sleep apnea. Do a google search and see if any of the symptoms fit.
  18. I had one of those but it was black. 5:3 to gear ratio, 2 bearings. I bought it at K-Mart in probably '94 or '95 for $35. It was a cheap reel but it worked great. It finally ended up at Bass Pro's reel trade in.
  19. Chartruese spinnerbait with gold Colorado blades. Also, if there is any cover, try a jig. With water that muddy, the fish should be holding pretty close to any cover.
  20. Last year was the first year I've used these type baits. I caught a lot of fish on the 5" smoke shad Tiki Stick rigged wacky style.
  21. The eye on the trotline hooks is more than big enought to fit over the barb on the spinnerbait hook. I get them at Wal Mart.
  22. Another frugal angler here, I use trotline hooks. I do sharpen them before I put them on though.
  23. Here's the link where I originally found it. http://heartlandtackleservice.com/shimano.stm
