  1. 5 year old on a baitcaster? bring an extra spool of fishing line!
  2. I wish I could believe it but the carpet under the hand and under the spider does not look the same. those goliath bird eating spiders get pretty big though.
  3. That's a good idea. If you don't know what something is, shoot it. Even if it stays really still for multiple pictures.
  4. what do you not like about it?
  5. ive never seen anything in the wild that resembles a senko but it produces a lot for me. buy it!
  6. talk to the seller. he might have given you the wrong tracking number even though it shows your address. happened to me, got it next day.
  7. some of my plastics are over a decade old. kept in original bag away from heat and sun.
  8. awesome fish! ottos are great little algae eaters. ive come around full circle. fresh>marine>reef>planted planted tanks are my favorite now. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/
  9. I do not use a leader in stained water or at night and have not noticed any decline in the amount of strikes on my jigs.
  10. I like fc sniper 8lb for jigs/t-rigs and weightless plastics on 2500 spinning reels
  11. id probably have a bigger chance of beating KVD with him using a spincast than I would beating Mike Tyson with one arm tied behind his back.
  12. the most versatile one i have is the MBR783c GLX. spinnerbaits, swim jigs, chatterbaits, lipless cranks, jigs/t-rig. more versatile than my 843c NRX in my hands. ive heard great reviews about the MBR843c GLX, would love to try one.
  13. hello, im looking to buy jig heads similar to the Yamamoto series 66 https://store.baits.com/product.php?productid=105 the issue with these are the shipping costs from the Yamamoto website and the only other store i found selling the series 66 had a very high price. i will probably end up ordering these if i cant find a good alternative. ive ordered 1/4oz arky (and sparkie) heads from fishingskirts and Siebert Outdoors but they have heavy hooks and weigh closer to 3/8oz than 1/4oz. does anyone know where i can find a 1/4oz arky style light or med wire jig head with a decent brush guard? has anyone added skirts to the Yamamoto series 66 jig head and had them slip down? the skirt collar holder on the jig head looks more rounded than most jig heads. theyre made for hula grubs but would like to add skirts to a few. thanks! -z
  14. 68mxf. the ml might be better for light dropshot but the med will handle stuff like senkos/fat ika, light jigs and trigs better. i prefer 3/16oz weights for drop shot anyway so its an easy choice if it were mine. if you like casting weightless plastics and finesse jigs on your baitcasters, get the ML. if you can find a 2016 legend elite on sale this winter, i would get that. beautiful rods. after the inital investment, you can replace it if it breaks for $95 (includes shipping) so it will last you a lifetime. same fee as a replacement avid. some people are comparing the sensitivity to the Loomis NRX line. i find it to be close.
  15. 2 rods to cover it all for me would be: GLX MBR 783c w/ 15Metanium HG - moving baits, jigs/plastics over 1/4oz plus trailer (i actually prefer this rod over my 843 NRX MBR) NRX JWR 852s w/ Stradic Ci4+ 2500 - light plastics/jigs
  16. avid. if you break a st. croix you can upgrade it or have it replaced for a fee. loomis has similar warranty (without the upgrade option) but i cannot comment on the e6x. not sure if dobyns offers similar replacement. i have a AVS69MLXF and its nice for light dropshot.
  17. that's why I bought a new kayak this year. needed my old boat to become a loaner!
  18. ive caught striper below chain bridge. you have to hike a bit. rocky and strong current through most of it. PM'd you about another place... a little late to post but i did well with a jig on saturday. all on laydowns upriver from ftnhd boat launch. strong bites and the hooks were pretty deep. water was heavily stained. plastic worm didnt produce for a friend, i struck out on a white spinnerbait.
  19. another benefit of a kayak or canoe is fishing streams or shallow rivers (new river!). you can get through a class 2 rapid on a good day and portage the sketchy ones. shuttling up river and camping on the way back down to the car makes for a great weekend. a kayak is more of an adventure, you creep up on more animals, notice more going on around you. its my religion. bass boat is great for covering water, tournament fishing, better when windy, better view radius, i can jerk my rod downwards.... different animals. wish i had both.
  20. they're eating humans???
  21. what do they look like, bigbill? have you found any footage of a creature that looks like the ones you see? looking forward to seeing your pictures next time you visit your camp.
