  1. habla español? http://www.spainbass.com/foro/index.php send me a pm if you cannot read spanish and ill look it up for you.
  2. first let me say i love the site. second, let me say i hate how 1/4 of the page gets cut off because of four ads over here --------> that are at the top of the page. after scrolling down its just blank space. looking at nate's posts id say there are other issues going on as well. ill be coming back here no matter what it looks like, BTW edit- it would be nice if when you highlighted a thread title it had the first few words of the thread instead of the date and time. just a suggestion, feel free to yell at me if you dont agree.
  3. the other side of wakefield, accotink park, has a gravel loop which is very easy but great for training. on the other side of accotink there are some single track trails. (see map on logoffrideon link above.) laurel hill in lorton VA is nice although it was way overgrown last week, they are supposed to cut it soon. picked two ticks off me after that ride. lake fairfax is another good one. park behind the ice rink on michael faraday drive in reston va. it goes all the way down difficult run to the potomac if you follow it far enough... if you feel like wandering into MD i highly recommend schaeffer farms. i hear gambrill and the 'shed are really fun but a little more challenging... join the mtbr.com fourms if you havent. here is a local club that does a lot of work on MD/DC/VA trails: http://www.more-mtb.org/
  4. agreed, but the only reason for that is weight. they are heavier than air shocks. we cant go straight from XC bikes to DH, however. you would be missing out on trail bikes, all mountain and freeride type bikes. all im saying is that coil has nothing to do with quality/price. its just a different tool. all that being said, i own a hardtail with an air fork soccplayer07- what bike did you buy? have you ridden fountainhead(i know you fish there)? i always have a mini stroke by the end of that ride...
  5. having air shocks is not any better than having coil shocks. they both have their positives and negatives.
  6. http://www.logoffrideon.com/trails/index.php?title=Main_Page alot of the trails on here have very detailed maps. keep scrolling down and clicking on the map at bottom of each trail description until you see the Full Resolution version. i did Schaeffer Farms in Germantown, MD this weekend for the first time. great trail, not very difficult but fun. Frederick Watershed is next. unfortunatley a detailed map does not exist yet for this trail. the is the best ive found so far:
  7. jeans can make 4 or 5 rounds especially in the colder months. if they dont look/smell dirty or feel damp when worn, go for it!
  8. st. croix rods are great! check out the shimano curado 50 or 51 for a nice compact reel. id get rods between 6'6" and 7' i match the power and lure weight rating to the lures im throwing and the type of cover. i generally like medium spinning rods and med heavy casting rods... as far as action i generally use XF for bottom baits, Mod or Mod Fast for crankbaits and Fast for anything else. Fast is the best all-around action IMO.
  9. is that a miniature bulldog? beautiful pup!
  10. get yourself a spinning reel. you will be glad you did. its not hard to get the hang of. check out shimano, daiwa or pflueger reels. 2500 size.

  12. i get a plague every spring. can you elaborate on the soap and warm water solution? do you just squirt them? what does this do?
  13. its not just the parents. i have seen good kids with horrible parents and vice versa.
  14. we have a field office in Okinawa, everyone there was fine at 9am EST. Im sure your nephew is too. Kadena is on the southwest side which is probably a good place to be...
  15. ill tell you what, ill sell you some x-ray glasses at BR discount for $20. PM me if interested.
  16. unless your doing SPS coral, you prob dont want to "filter" the water too much as it removes some beneficial things. now im thinking about starting nano tank again. so easy to bring up trace element levels with just a bucket of salt water. all you need is live rock, salt water, power head, heater, sand. heck, you dont even need sand!
  17. if you can spare some more change, id look into the kayaks that JFrancho suggested. id try to go 12' if possible with 14' being ideal for freshwater fishing IMO. 16' if youre paddleing long distances. rudder is nice and can be added later. helps when the wind picks up. if you are on a flowing river or stream, you can keep your hands on the rod and steer with your feet. i dont use waders but i also dont kayak in the cold months. i wear quick drying pants or swim trunks and good water shoes. you probably dont want exposed toes if you plan on fishing shallow rocky streams/rivers. i like paddles with a carbon shaft and plastic blades for a compromise between price and weight. get a comfortable pfd, some rod holders and get her afloat!
  18. ive had several reefs, right now i have a 50 gallon breeder with t5 lighting (individual reflectors) and a 100 gallon rated hang on skimmer... those small tanks are great arent they? one bucket and youve done a water change! dont really need a skimmer if you change water frequently! edit: become a member of reefcentral if you havent already. that forum is super busy and has tons of info.

  20. i do not have any experience with trout infested bass waters but i would try trout swimbaits for the fat ones!
  21. alot of companies do that, actually. there is a reputable company i used to deal with for marine/reef supplies that had a site with the exact same setup, different name, higher prices. if you mention the company, maybe someone from BR can tell you about their experience with them.
  22. boys dont get pregnant and are more likely to enjoy fishing. congrats!
