Gammy Superline Hooks
I tie my own keeper on it. I use gel-spun saltwater fly thread (which is very tough thread) and a piece of a paper clip. I tie i on and superglue it in place. Very effective. I just wanted to hear about Hook up ratios with these hooks.

Bulk Flipping Hooks With No Keepers?
I like to tie my own keepers onto hook shanks. I do this for most of my keeper needs. I'd like to find some bulk flipping hooks with no keepers. I know that Trokar has their saltwater straight shank hooks, but they dull very quickly. Brands like Owner make a weak flipping hook, and I like to snell my hooks, so the Twistlock design is not an option. I know that a Siwash hook is PERFECT, except that the eye is way too big and its not welded. Do I have any other options?

Hey Northerners
Every year I go through my tacklebox and I make two piles: the "This got used this year" (aka the "safe pile") and the other pile, which I refer to as the Ebay pile. Typically, I make between $500-$1,500 every winter just selling used gear. Granted, its sold at a loss. But now I have $1,000 to spend on new gear! I mean, its gonna happen anyway, you minds well not be a hoarder and help your bottom line.... That being said, so far...... Humminbird 798ci, unpainted Owner jigheads, powder paint, weedguards, tunsten jigheads, 1000yards of fluoro, zman plastics, powerteam plastics, six Duckett rods, four Lews Tour Pros, a bunch of River2Sea tackle. Can't wait!

Benefits Of Textured Skirting?
I like the swimjig idea. Makes the bait look bulkier, and I model my swimjigs after crappie and bluegill (or bream, to you southern folk with nicknames for everything).

Valley Sports For The Win!
I had been searching everywhere for a pair of Sealskinz gloves. They are not easy to find, and not very affordable when you do. However, Ron at Valley Sports had them in stock! He was great to deal with and prices were very reasonable! In fact, I bought two pairs! Thanks Ron!

Duckett Casting Reels
Interesting! I didn't even notice! However, those could be Lazerlure Ducketts from a few years ago. I guess we'll see. They could show themselves at the Classic, whatever they are.

Leaky Rivets
That's not an option. There is decking built on top of where the leak is. I think JB is my best bet. Now I just have to wait for a nice, warm day.

Leaky Rivets
I have a 14' am luminous that's met a few rocks. It's older and it leaks through some of the rivets in the middle. Does anyone have a fix for this ?

Tips For Tying Hair Jigs
I'm going to start tying hair jigs tonight. In about 30 minutes, actually. I'm excited. I've watched a bunch of videos and I think I've got it nailed down. But I still wanted to ask the community if they had any tips or tricks. If you do, please feel free to post them and/or pictures of your favorite patterns. Thanks!

M Vs Mh Duckett Rods
I have a duckett micro magic in MH. Its gonna be great for spinnerbaits. I am thinking about getting a Ghost rod for topwaters, jerkbaits and swimjigs (1/4oz). I'm not sure if I should go with the 6'10" Medium or 6'8" MH..... I dont know if the MH will be too stiff for trebles, but I dont know if the Medium will have enough backbone for the swimjigs. Thoughts?

Carolina Vs. Drop Shot
NOT the same action. I unless you're using an elaztech plastic or other floating worm, the bait trailing a carolina rig is dragging behind the rig on the bottom. Its simple physics. It doesn't "float up" above the weight; thats nonsense. A drop shot bait is suspended off the bottom, and can be wiggled in place indefinately. I prefer the drop shot, and I often drag it like a carolina rig. However a carolina rig is better for covering deep water quickly. Both excel at feeling bottom composition. As for your question: it depends. if the fish are scattered across a 15ft flat, I'd toss the c-rig. however, if those fish are relating to vertical structure, or if they're in a specific area, drop 'em. My $.02.

World Fishing & Outdoor Expo In Suffern, Ny
You can always haggle! Hell that's half the fun! I usually go the last day (Sunday), take the tour, make notes of what I want. Then, the last hour of the show, I go around and make offers. Win some, lose some. But I have got some killer deals before.
