  1. I want a boat, maybe a tracker 175 or 190. I currently drive a '01 Dodge Grand Caravan. It has a 3.3L V6 and is rated to tow up to 3500lbs. At a recent trip to the lake, I saw a guy pull up with the same can as me, albeit newer, hauling a 19' Stratos!!! I couldn't believe it! Does anyone else tow with a minivan? What upgrades should I make (rear suspension/ tranny cooler/air intake/brakes)???
  2. Powell Max 7' MEF, Lews Tournament pro 6.4:1 and 30lb Powerpro. Rod is perfect for it. This combo also doubles for swim jigs and chatter baits.
  3. I live in Telford, about an hour away. There are several productive lakes and ponds up this way. Message me if you're ever looking for a partner!
  4. You can buy those 95MM CF handles for Lew's reels aftermarket. I forget where, but if you google it, you can find them for $50 somewhere.
  5. I used to have a 704cb, and I still kick myself for err having got rid of it. It's a great square bill-medium depth cranking rod. I use it for traps because its all graphite, not glass, and therefore inherently a little more stiff. Deep cranks might be a little too much, but that's your call. Either way, a great price on a great stick!!!!!
  6. I noticed on Tackle Warehouse that the Lews Tournament Pro in 5.4 (rh) and only 5.4 was on sale about 20% off. This threw up a red flag, so I emailed Lews. Sure enough, that gear ratio in the Tournament Pro is being discontinued. It wont be available anymore. So, if you're a fan of that reel, GO BUY THEM NOW!
  7. Yes! Well put. Thank you! To me, if it ain't a Wisconsin swim jig, it ain't a swim jig!!!! I'm just a little stubborn that way....
  8. If you want to try something closer to real, and it will produce very well, try a Strike King Bitsy Flip jig with a grub. It's a good readily available producer.
  9. Try buying a different swim jig: -Brovarney -Lethal Weapon -Dirty Jigs A real swim jig is (generally) 1/4oz, bullet head, light wire hook, light weed guard, thin hand tied skirt. Thread a 3-5" single tail grub or swim bait and have at it! Booyah swim jigs are not REAL swim jigs.... Go ahead, debate me. Just because you can swim it and get bites doesn't make it a swim jig. I think it's a terrible design. Buy a real one.
  10. Consider also the 7' M glass Powell Diesel. It's a mega-value rod! Very, very lightweight, strong, and only $70!!! $50 on the fish ranger!!!!
  11. I had an issue with a few Gen3 Revos. Lews is my new champion. I am curious about the new Orra line...
  12. Just saw the 2014 Powell catalogue. The Max series will be $170 across the board, and the Endurance line will be $200 across the board. Just a heads up, get them now!!!
  13. GL himself in an infomercial for the "Work Sharp", an electronic knife sharpener... I'm not sure how I should feel right now... It's kinda like seeing Bill Dance selling Morning After pills.....
  14. With an arrow...
  15. BOOM! I stand corrected. I still want to see reviews for how accurate it is before I commit to buying it.
  16. Megastink replied to Jrob78's topic in Fishing Tackle
Tackletour says 7.3oz. Not half bad!!!
  17. Megastink replied to Jrob78's topic in Fishing Tackle
I heard the Orra is around 7.5oz.
  18. In still skeptical. You need a wifi connection; tough to come by on the water. Also, if its not accurate, you're out $150... I'll wait til spring and get some reviews.
  19. If you have to ask...... you probably already know the answer....
  20. I am as jealous as jealous can be! How Lonnie's it? What does it weight? Does the trailer have brakes?
  21. Unless they contracted the original creator to make it for them, or bought the patent/idea. That's legit. Strike King did that with their "Custom Shop" crankbaits. they hired a guy who made balsa and sold on ebay to make cranks for them under their label. You don't know (and neither do I).
  22. That's a largemouth. Idk about the teeth. But that's 150% a largemouth.
  23. I switched over to all lefty reels last November. It was fine, because I used Abu products and they offer just about everything in RH and LH. However, not the same with all companies. I wanted a LH Tourny Pro in 5.1... NOPE! Team Lews, TL Gold? Nope.... Then, I go to buy a lety BB1 on ebay, 5.1, but it costs $10-$20 more for the LH models than the RH!!!! What gives???
