Crestliner storm 1600 or tracker pro 160
I just posted about this a few days ago. I'm also looking at both boats, but with 20hp's. Im leaning towards the Crestliner. The deciding factor for me was that it has a rod locker that can fit five 8' Rods. The tracker has no locker. Here are some other specs pulled from their respective websites: Livewell is 16gal (C) vs 9gal (T) Fuel Cap: 6gal each Hull Thickness: .10" (C) vs .09" (T) built to MY specs, with extras in each: the Crestliner is actually $700 LESS. Unless the ride and customer service is better with Tracker, I cant see a reason to go that route. Plus, I really dont want to give Johnny Morris any more money. ?

Calling all Crestliner Storm owners
I considering pulling the trigger on a crestliner storm 1600 w/ a 20hp for the lakes around my house with 20hp limits, where I fish 90% of the time. Im choosing the Crestliner over the Tracker mainly because it has a rod locker for up to 8' Rods, which is something the Tracker doesn't have. Im just looking for some reviews from Storm owners. If there are any intricacies I'd like to know, please share them. thanks!

Adding a third treble to a jerkbait
It's ALWAYS fun, even the 'bad' days. But I still want to maximize my efficiency out there. I thought a third treble on a smaller bait would help.

Adding a third treble to a jerkbait
I respectfully disagree. I'm a Tournament angler, and my fun fishing is my practice. I want every bite in the boat. One more treble ups the chances. But I admit, I haven't thrown a 200 by itself. I should try it first. All my trebles on all my hard Baits have upgraded hooks. I just want another hook. I may not need it, but just wanted to see if anyone else acted on my thought.

Adding a third treble to a jerkbait
My favorite jerkbait it a KVD300, but lately I want a smaller profile like the KVD200 but I wand three hooks. Has anyone ever added a third hook to a two hook jerkbait? I think I might try it.

Tuscarora Lake, Pa
I'm reviving this thread because I'm also curious how the fishing is. According to my research of the PADNR biologist reports, this is the best sub-200 acre public lake with the healthiest SMB population. Im planning on a trip out there maybe Saturday this weekend. If anyone has fished it recently, let us know!

Episode #3: The Dog Days
I live near a lake that is full of quality bass but is notoriously tough during the summer. It's common to catch one bass the entire day when the water temps climb above 80*. I discovered a pattern that bumps those catch rates up. I experimented with a series of intro scenes of launching the boat instead of just fish catches. I hoped this would make it feel like more of an adventure.Im having issues keeping my GoPro on. Batteries die within an hour and I'm unsure what else I can do besides carry my three with me. I caught a good one on the day but missed it because my camera died. Any suggestions?thanks for watching!https://youtu.be/Z05ox7Izngc

Anyone subscribe to MOTV?
I do. I watch MLF, UMF, Zona, Mercer, and Horton. I don't watch the hunting, shooting, or cooking shows. I use my laptop as well as my phone. I can download episodes to my device and watch them offline such as on a plane. I think it's worth it.

Your favorite finesse swimbait head?
I'm hoping to find at least a 2/0 hook. Size #1 is tiny when you're dealing with jumping smallmouths.

Looking for Smallmouth lakes eastern PA
I haven't caught a smallmouth since October and I've had enough! I live in the Quakertown, PA area and have a 16' Jon with an electric motor. I want to find smaller lakes within two hours that have good populations of smallmouth. Something I can run around in my boat on without needing an outboard. Preferably under under 800 acres. I know about the big lakes that have them like Beltzville, Wally, Nock, Blue Marsh and all the rivers, but I don't want to get caught in boat traffic or current. Does anyone know little lake where I can get my smallie fix?

Your favorite finesse swimbait head?
All the jigheads I own are too big. Im looking for a jighead for 2.75" or 2.8" swimbaits like the Rage Swimmer. what do you all use? side note: I'm hoping to find one with a relatively short shank and pretty stout. Thanks!

how can I improve hookup ratio with topwater popper
It could be several things: 1) dull hooks (sounds like it's not this) 2) Rod is too stiff/too soft: ideally you want a Medium Power, Fast Action to impart a tion yet have some give during the fight. 3) Line: mono is standard, but braid can be used when paired with a softer rod. Too light of mono stretches too much and might hinder hook penetration. 4) too much slack line during the hookset 5) too hard of a hookset: should be more of a sweep.

Anyone try/use Trapper Hooks?
I think it'll work well in any open hook presentation. I'm not sure that it'll work BETTER than other hooks.

Anyone try/use Trapper Hooks?
I've tried them on several outings. I had a larger than normal percentage of missed hooksets with these hooks. I remember one day I was flipping laydowns during prespawn, had around ten bites and only landed two. I believe the problem is that the plastic DOESN'T slide down the gap like it's supposed to. Instead, it gets trapped in there and prevents deep penetration most of the time. I read good things about them, but I don't share that opinion. I think as a treble and drop shot hook it'll be quite effective, but I'm not sold on them for Texas rigs. My my most successful hook is still a 3/0 straight shank for flipping/pitching. I'm all about innovation and I think these guys are onto something. But I think their offset style misses the mark.

Has anyone punched with a Duckett MM 7'10"??
Looking for opinions on the rod. Considering it for punching. I've been using a 7'7" H White Ice lately, but I've been catching several 4-6lb class fish and I have a little trouble hoisting them out of the grass. Strickly looking for opinions on that rod for punching. Thanks!
