  1. 1/4-3/8oz Strike King swim jig, either the tour grade or hack attack versions. I stick to bluegill patterns, and I like a Rage Craw, Rage Grub, Menace, or Rage Swimmer. use them ALWAYS. There's no bad time for one. Typically shallow cover. Fish it like a spinnerbait. Use heavier gear: 15-20lb fluoro, 30-50lb braid, 7' MH rod.
  2. Sometimes while browsing a Cabelas or the like, I pick up a rod I used to use: a Mojo Bass, Triumph, Gander, or Veritas. I'll hold it for a minute, give it a shake, relive a few fish. Then I'll put it back on the shelf, drive home, and hug one of my Ducketts. I'm so glad I bought them!
  3. Im not sure what your gear is, but I use a 7' MH when using a jighead (12lb fluoro), and a 7'1" MH or my 7'4" H with the beast (15-20lb fluoro) pretty standard for swimbaits.
  4. I'm surprised with all the negative experiences. I've had a great experience with these baits on jigheads and on 4/0 BEAST hooks. Ill take all all the ones you want to part with :-)
  5. I own a dozen 1.5 shallows. They get around 2' tops. GREAT baits. Very productive.
  6. I'm still hopeful for a Mini Rage Bug. I'd also like to see Strike King plastics in Bulk Pack (25ct/50ct).
  7. Could you post a profile and a birds eye shot of the head. Also of the hook?
  8. Could I get away with throwing a 10XD with a BB1 in 5.1? I'm looking for a reel specifically from Lews that'll be a good fit for tossing 10XD's. I know they have the Super Duty in 6.4, but I'm really wanting something in the 5 range and I reel Lefty.
  9. I fish it Texas style and on a swing head. Zona just had his live show with KVD and he was tossing it on a jighead. It's a good jig trailer too.
  10. Black/blue Structure Jig and a Blk/BL Rage Craw for hard cover targets. I'd definitely have a double Colorado spinnerbait in chart/white (gold blades) or black/blue (black or gold blade). Chatterbait with a Rage Craw or menace trailer, KVD 2.5 (rattling) in a chartreuse or red based color. Buzzbait (black is water is dirty, White if clear). Id start there.

  12. To learn and to test myself. I've wanted to fish the Bassmaster Elite Series since I was a kid. I've spent countless hours "fun fishing" to learn bass behavior, pattern development, equipment, techniques, etc. I started Tournament fishing to test that knowledge and theories I had developed during my "fun fishing". Tournaments teach you lessons like time management, strategy development, when to go/when to stay, etc. Every day on the water is practice for when I try to qualify, which I plan on starting next year. That's my honest answer.
  13. Hey, that's me you're talking about. My offer stands... maybe I know something you don't? ??
  14. Wow! That's awesome to hear! I have the same unit and am always nervous of losing it. No fear from now on.
  15. This was from two weeks ago. Water is warm now. Several of my friends are slaying them right now.
  16. Both are close to the main river channel, so I'd bet they're open underneath. Going to be great bass and catfish spots!
  17. The structure is around 15' wide.
  18. Found these two structures underwater in my local lake. Not sure if they're roads, or bridges. I scanned 360* around these structures and found nothing else, which makes me think they're stone bridges. You can see the guard rails. Any thoughts?
  19. From my Garmin 73SV: not sure if they're just roads, or old bridges...
  20. First and foremost, the BEST TRAILER EVER for tiny jigs is a baby Rage Craw. Period. Other options include Strike King 3x Tiny DB Chunk, 3" Rodent, 3" Twin Tail Grub.
  21. I found two roads, possibly small bridges underwater:
  22. I think we met on another thread, but I'm in Telford and would love to fish sometime!
  23. I think there's something brewing between Bassmaster and BPS. I think this is what Jerry was hinting at in his latest article.
  24. My current job as a manufacturer sales rep in food service leaves me very little time to fish or even discuss it. For me, its meat and money everyday. I feel that that if I'm not going to have a lot of time to fish, I'd RATHER have a job where I could at least be around fishing everyday, even if that means crunching numbers. I hope to become a manufacturer rep or even a broker/distributor rep because I enjoy helping businesses find the right products for them to grow and I'm very passionate about fishing. It will happen one day, with patience and persistence.
