Video Editing/Review Thread?
I posted in the General forum a few weeks ago asking for a video editing forum but I think the best we'll get is a sticky. Anyway, I enjoy making GoPro edits from my fishing trips and I'd like to talk with others on here who do the same. What I'd like to see is a place where people can post links to their creations for the BR community to not only enjoy, but give feedback and tips to improve the content. It's a growing segment of our favorite sport and lots of folks seem to need help. This will NOT be a place to post videos the OP didn't make, share shaky cell phone video, or for pro staff to post product reviews. I'm talking a forum like "I made this video to test out audio and fading/filters. What do you think?" and the like. How do we get started?

Getting strike mid-retrieve
If it's that shallow, omit the hard jerkbaits. Throw a fluke.

Getting strike mid-retrieve
If it's a CLEAR pond, toss a hard jerkbaits and work that thing fast. Also toss a topwaters walker, like a Strike King Sexy Dawg Jr. You can ALWAYS fish vegitation somehow. Try a small swimbait, like a 3.75" Rage Swimmer on a 1/4 or 1/8oz joghead slow rolled, ticking the grass. Any Texas rigged plastic would work. Maybe a weightless Caffine Shad Texas rigged? Allowed to float down into the grass and ripped out before floating down again. Where theres a will, there's a way. If you're saying that there's thick vegetation down there, the bass ABSOLUTELY live there.

Getting strike mid-retrieve
I've found 90% of my bites are on the initial fall or within the first 10ft of my retrieve. I'm a target-oriented angler, so once my bait is about 6ft passed a target, I'm already lining up my next cast. Knowing where my bites come, I play the odds. You'll never catch them all, and I don't try to.

EWG or flippin hook?
Trokars (and some other brands) have a very thick plastic keeper that tears through plastics like nothing else. I use them as well and I feel your pain. I had the same issue with their drop shot "rebarb" style hooks and caenup with a solution that could work for you as well, with a little effort: i started making my own keepers. I can't seem to upload a video or photo bigger than .48mb, so I can't show you. But google it!

Tackle vs. Knowledge
Knowledge trumps bait selection, but ONLY if used effectively in tandem with MECHANICS. Those baits won't get bit if you can't put it where the fish live. I'm a pretty accurate caster and can skip well with spinning and casting gear, so I'm confident I'm getting a check that day.

Interfacing IPad with Lowrance Elite5Ti
Maybe you can make your own screen shade and spend your money on a waterproof housing like a Lifeproof?

Is Snakehead Good to Eat?
They're native Ron Southeast Asia, and are revered for having 'medicinal' qualities. In fact, I've heard that's how they got to America: someone bought love snakeheads to make a soup for an ailing family member. However, they recovered before the soup was made, so they released them into the Potomac.

Lightweight 7' to 7'3" MH fast rods
I think the Duckett Triads are mid to low 3oz. Their 7' MH is a great rod.

Duckett Triad Rods
I own six Triads, two 610M, a 70MH, 70MC, 74H, and 76MHC. Love them all and will be getting more. this rod fits between the ghost and the micro magic pro. It has slightly larger than micro guides, and a small foregrip that spins down to the reel (like the Gen1 White Ice, only less obtrusive). The girls are very comfortable and actions are consistent. I've got a video of them in action if you'd like to see them bend: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0XhBB4another siteZc

20 Degree Temp Drop
You're talking about these bass as if they are in a lake. These are TIDAL bass. They move with the tide, with little effect from weather. Fish the tides.

first tournie tips
My first tournament I ever fished, I thought I had everything planned out. I even had a written timeline of what lures I was going to throw between what hours. I zeroed. My second tournament, I lived in the moment and fished what was in front of me. I won. just go fishing, and throw what you're most confident in. Don't overthink. Just fish.

crankbaits: your favorite 5-9 ft'ers (mids)
I think the Strike King Series 4 is very underrated.

Swimbaits in smaller lakes
I fish a lake in PA that's around 50 acres, maybe 65. It has some magnum bass in it. I'm no expert, but I like a 6" Megabass Magdraft. I replace the front hook with a 1/0 red Gammy. Have caught many nice ones on that set-up. its worth mentioning: this place is 6' deep MAX, average of 3.5'. I wanted something slow sinking.
