  1. The picture upload size is set to over 3 megs per pic. So unless you're uploading large, raw, uncompressed photos, it should be just fine.
  2. Two things: Make sure your hooks are razor sharp. Here's a video on it: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/hook-sharpen.html Check your hookset. You may be just turning the fish instead of penetrating the hook. Here's a video on it: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/losing-fish.html
  3. Depends on how tall you are. Taller people like longer rods and vice versa. I'm 5' 8", so a 7' 3" is plenty for me. For this setup, I'd use a 7' 3" MH rod with a fast tip, a reel that's at least 6:8.1, and 50lb Seaguar Smackdown braid.
  4. You're point's been made....by you and several others. Unless anyone has something significantly new to add to this thread, let's move on....
  5. Geeze folks, lighten up! The Bait Monkey was concieved here over a decade ago. He pops in every now and then to have a little fun with y'all regarding buying stuff. That's it. Nothing more. Carry on.
  6. Ease up kids.....
  7. I also have a Virb Elite. I love the 6 hr recording time, and the wi-fi app on my phone that let's me use the phone as a viewfinder as well as control recording remotely. It's also a lot smaller and easier to use than a GoPro. Costs less too!
  8. Hey guys, you don't need to poke the hook through the fish. Just slide it up through the gill plate. That way, you won't need to create an infection point in his mouth. Hope that helps!
  9. Okay, so...to pull a lure loose from lily pads, use the straight pull method outlined here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lure-unstuck.html but really, just pay attention to the direction the pads are pointing. If they're pointing towards you, then you're more apt to get hung up on the "crotch" of the pad. To fish pads....a little known secret, if you will, is to use 3" grubs on 15-25lb co-polomar line. Just drag it across the pads, then let it drop when it finds an opening (you may have to give it some line in order to do this). This is very effective. I tried this with 6" worms, but the tails just hung up on the pads too much. 3" grubs seem to do the trick. 4" Senko's pegged on a 1/4 oz weight also works well too. Ya, you'll catch a lot of small bass doing this. But occasionally a pig will jump all over it. So you'll need a heavy action rod for this. It's baitcasting country here. Spinning reels just don't have the torque to winch out an angry 4-pounder in the lily pads. Get over your fear of baitcasting gear and use it. You'll be glad you did.
  10. We don't entertain the garbage and hyped-up lies doled out by the mindless cult mentality known as PETA. We're done here.
  11. Evan, We just received 57 PM's that are offended by your post. LOL!
  12. I don't use braid for crankbait fishing. The hooks are small and light wire. Braid will bend them and straighten them out during the fight. Bye bye fishy.
  13. Hey guys - Put 3 people in a room, and they will have 6 different opinions on how the forums should be moderated. We know that, and do the best we can in order to keep most people happy. That also means there will always be people who do not agree with one decision or another. It comes with the territory. If you don't like how one decision went, you probably agree with many others. It's just the law of averages.
  14. Absolutely. No seriously. I really like this rod, and even got another I liked it so much. It's good for flipping and pitching too, even though it's not a flipping stick.
  15. Pair with a TCS-C-701H Okuma rod. It's perfect for what you want to do. I have one, and that's exactly what I use it for.
  16. Here's your answer:
  17. I predict several people will ask, "What is ICAST?" and several more will ask, "Is it open to the public?" "How can I get tickets?" "How do I get in?" etc.
  18. Pure Fishing bought Sebile several years ago.
  19. I predict a bunch of companies will be showing the same products, but in different colors or sizes so they can call them "new". I predict many new products will debut under much hoopla, but nobody will be able to buy them until next year. I predict ICAST will be held in Orlando....again.....and again..... and again....until at least 2020. Maybe next year they'll check for conflicting big conventions first before announcing dates. Just a thought. I predict Bobby and crew will be thrown out of their hotel for being too rowdy. I predict we won't be doing 130 ICAST videos again.....ever.
  20. Here's a new video about sight fishing (not bed fishing). It's a fun way to catch bass, but you have to be observant. Here's how! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/sight-fishing.html
  21. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/60793-best-of-bassresourcecom/ ^Tons and tons of information there.^ Scroll down the thread to the sponsorship section. You'll have hours of reading to do.
  22. ^^ this ^^ The only thing I would add is that I do back off the throttle the tighter the turn, and come completely off the throttle if I hear the prop cavitate (engine revs up suddenly). Be sure to trim down before you start turning. How much you trim down will take some trial and error to learn. Trim down too much, and the hull will have too much "grip"; not enough and it won't turn very well.
