  1. Old news. Apparently y'all missed this thread: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196131680 Despite it all, Byron is kicking butt at the wildcard playoff right now.
  2. Whenever I fish a new lake, I ALWAYS focus on the points first. You can fish all the depths in one area, and points tend to attract baitfish and bass. Usually there's a variety of structure and cover as well. In essence, you can fish a lot of different presentations in one area. Once you start catching fish, you can then focus just on they depth and cover you caught them for the rest of the lake. A very effective way of narrowing down a large lake in a hurry.
  3. That's great news Russ!! Congratulations! I knew great things were going to happen after I introduced you to CAST. I was NOT disappointed! I'm excited to hear the enthusiasm from everyone here. That's terrific! A CAST event is unlike none other. Once you've attended one, you'll wonder how you've missed out for so long.
  4. It may or may not be illegal, but that's not the question. The question is: How much is your integrity worth? 50 bucks? I would hope you hold yourself to a higher standard than that.

Cookies are harmless. The "fear" is a product of the opportunistic media to prey upon the common lack of knowledge and understanding people have regarding computers and the Internet. The majority of the what the media "reports" regarding the Internet is all hype and fluff designed to scare you enough to get you to watch them so they can sell advertising at a higher rate. Plain and simple: Cookies do NOT steal your identity. Cookies are not "opened" or "closed". They're merely a line or two of text that allows a website to: log you in; remember your viewing preferences; present information, headlines, articles, etc. that is relevant to you; keep you from seeing the same ad over and over again (or from seeing ads that you don't care about); or tracking your usage of a website in order to improve the site. There's more, but in essence, they're used to give you a better experience online. There's nothing malicious about them, contrary to what the media wants you to believe. Remember, the media preys upon the fear of the unknown. That's their bread-n-butter. I just hate it when they try to make out the Internet as something evil and dangerous.
  6. Congrats! Looking forward to seeing it.
  7. Yup. Had one in September. My first and hopefully last. "Excruciating pain" doesn't even begin to describe it! Sorry you had to go through it.
  8. RW - what you've described is called "bait and switch" and is indeed illegal. You have grounds to press criminal and civil charges.

Never thought about it. I guess to me, it's too trivial to worry about.
  10. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
  11. That's b-a-a-a-a-a-a-a d! did she say, "I love only ewwwwwwe!"

I have Sirius radio on my boat, and it sounds fine to me!
  13. You have been hijacked by malware. Pop-up blockers will do NOTHING against it. George got you started on the right track, but as will all malware infestations, they install a "hidden" way to reinstall themselves. Annoying, yes (very!), but at least it's curable with a little work. First go here and follow all the instructions to a "T": http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Removal_and_Prevention:_Overview Then go here to prevent it from happening again: http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Prevention:_Prevent_Re-infection I suggest that EVERYONE do both of these if you never have. You'll be surprised how many things have infected your computer without your knowledge. Have fun!
  14. Tying a drop-shot rig and then clipping off the "tag" end by mistake (old habits!) Spending 10-15 minutes cursing at the big motor just before blast off at a tournament because it won't start when somebody yells, "Kill switch!" .... oh... oops Making a cast, getting an abrupt backlash that stops the reel suddently, snapping your line and watching your lure fly 1000 yards away before splashing down, never to be seen from again. Just after re-tying, you take the tag end you just clipped off and toss it overboard.... along with your pliers/clippers/scissors. Swatting at the bee near your ear and accidentally knocking your expensive fishing glasses off into the drink! Placing the cooler by the tailgate to get something out of the back, get distracted and forget about it, then run over it later with the trailer. and my favorite... Stepping off the dock onto the Bass Hunter, suddenly realizing it's not stable, lose your balance, grab the chair to right yourself ONLY THEN to realize the chair's not attached! ....KER-SPLASH!!
  15. And now that it's become political. We're done.
  16. Ok, this is bad. I really don't know exactly how many reels I have between the wife and I. LOL! Off the top of my head: 5 Revo STX 6 Torno 10-15 4600c 2 Chronarch 2 5600D Spinning 5-8 Cardinal 702 1 Cardinal 802 1 Shimano (don't recall the model. Has a wooden handle though.) There's more, but that's all I can think of right now. LOL!
  17. Hmmm.... several tangents going on here. The WWII history I find most interesting, mainly because I'm a WWII history buff. I enjoy hearing "new" information being brought forth because the reality is, most people haven't heard of it. Funny how many people don't know Alaska was occopied, nor did they know the west coast was attacked. Odd that many people cannot even recite the date of Pearl Harbor, nor the date/place where the 2nd atomic bomb was dropped. Nice to see a little educating going on here. I was beginning to lose hope that people remembered. The civil war topic...wow. Didn't expect that tangent. The 2nd ammendment topic.... is pushing the limits regarding the "no politics" rule. So far, it's all been respectable dialog, so I'll let it continue. But rest assured, the mods and I are watching every post on this thread. So let's keep it civil. Thanks!

Do not arouse the wrath of the great and powerful Oz!!

Mariners? Who are they? Sonics are losers too. They're leaving town anyway. Huskies are bland. Ya, it's great to be a Seattle sport's fan these days. :-/ But hey, the Seahawks won last night on MNF. They've now had 3 shutouts in 4 MNF appearances - an NFL record. Can't complain about that! And they could finish the season 12-4 if they've finally turned it around. To early to tell though. We'll see next week. Who'd a thunk at the beginning of the year that all they needed to do was bench Alexander.

I pulled it from the sticky area (didn't delete it) because the World Series is long over, and the last post was over a week ago. Seems like interest has faded, and the sticky area already has a LOT of threads in it. You can find the baseball thread a few pages down, or can do a search for it. Either way, it's still there for you to post on.
  21. Good observation. Yes it is, by coincidence. Same hat too. Funny thing is, I don't wear that shirt too often. Maybe I should! Oh, and it was an 8lb 1oz and 9lb 1oz at Fork. Keri caught the 7lb 8oz lunker. I think it fought harder than it's bigger sisters!
  22. Thanks to everyone for their responses, especially yours Bass Cat. I appreciate your concerns, and you did a great job of presenting them. I like to hear opinions from everyone, because you never know where the next great idea might come from. I think Stayncharge has done a terrific job of answering questions and explaining the program. Like he said, most people would just pack up and leave. He didn't. Shows a lot of character in my book. Great suggestions for improvements guys. Nice thread. I think we can move on now.
  23. Ok, here's the pic, but first... I look like crap for 2 reasons: It was 95 degrees out and the guy who took the photograph wanted the sun on my face, so he lifted up my cap and rearranged it while I was holding the fish. So I'm sweating, squinting, and my hat and hair is all messed up (ya I know... I look drunk!) Caught it on a wacky rigged Outlaw Baits Limp Stick. The pic doesn't show it, but she had a big belly.
  24. ;D ;D ;D
  25. Phenominal catch!
