I don't recall ever having a tackle store do it for me. I used to do the ol skewer-it-on-a-pencil-and-hold-it-between-my-feet trick until the Berkley spool station was born. As mentioned above, it originally came with a line stripper. The line stripper died about a decade ago, and then 2 years ago the spool station broke. I bought a new one and, although it didn't come with a line stripper, I was delighted with the improvements; namely, adapters for spooling spinning reels, and stabilizers with suction cups that do an excellent job of holding it in place while using it. Niner's /Green Bay game was reasonably officiated too. It didn't appear the refs dictated the outcome of this one. A nice benefit with the playoffs is that only the best officials are on the field. Although, being the "best" when the bar is set so low isn't necessarily a compliment. LOL

Day 3 of the icestorm. A big sheet of plastic wrap blew into my yard today. Without even thinking about it, I stepped out to get it. As soon as my feet hit the cement porch, my feet were whipped out from under me and BAM! I fell backwards and slammed my head on the concrete. I was dazed for awhile, but now, several hours later, I'm just sore all over my back and I have a minor headache. Hopefully that and my ego, are the only things that got damaged.

Yes, I will be filming for YouTube. So yes, I'll capture as much as I can. I'm afraid fishing isn't on the agenda this trip, but I have already been fishing with Shin Fukae and Masa Matsushita (on separate occasions). I even caught a fish on the Free Rig with Shin! Does that count?

Guess where I'm going guys? Yep, Japan! At the end of this month. I've been invited to tour the SPRO and Gamakatsu international headquarters and factories, and meet the CEO of Gamakatsu (I'm also invited to his home), and the President of Gamakatsu. Oh, and attend one of the world's largest tackle shows - bigger than ICAST. I'll also do some sightseeing, try new foods, and stay up way late drinking sake and singing karaoke. LOL Plus I'm told I'll be going to a very large tackle store stuffed to the rafters with JDM tackle where I can buy whatever I can haul home. If that weren't enough, I'll also be visiting Himeji Castle and Kyoto by way of a bullet train. This will be a trip of a lifetime! I'll try to chronicle the trip here, but my posts will likely be in the middle of the night due to the time change. So, if you were me, what would you do? What tackle would you get? What would you say to the CEO?

As a team where most of their wins came against teams with losing records, they performed EXACTLY as expected yesterday. There really was no other possible outcome when you look objectively at the analytics. Dak had and MVP season? Hardly. His stats, and the entire team's stats, were artificially inflated by playing bottom-of-the-barrel teams. Now, all you 'boys fans getting all up in arms, consider this: Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner had the most tackles of any player in the NFL this year, earning him a spot in the Pro Bowl. So...he's amazing, right? Well, he is a great player for sure, but the Seahawks had the most amount of defensive downs of any team this year, giving him far more opportunities to make tackles than all other linebackers on other teams. If all linebackers played exactly the same number of downs this year, he likely wouldn't rank near the top in tackles. See? Artificially inflated. If the Cowboys had played tougher teams during the season, they likely wouldn't have made the playoffs, and not a single person would utter the word "MVP" in the same sentence as "Dak Prescot"

Yep, I got one of those when I was 15. Caught a ton of fish on it. I still have one on my boat and still use it every now and then. I used to have an arsenal of pistol-grip rods back when they were popular. A 6' rod was enormous back then. LOL Nowadays, yes, I find myself going "old school" more and more, as the fish just don't see them as often. Herb's Dillys, Torpedos, Hula Poppers, Slug-Go's, chicken-foot worms, Rogues, Zara Spooks, hand-poured finesse worms, super-doo's, and of course less popular lures like grubs, tubes, and Johnson Silver Spoons, to name a few.

Not much snow here, but it's going to be 10 degrees tonight, 20 tomorrow with 50mph winds. Ya, that's a wind chill of -45. Neat.
